@MechaSaurian Same here. Forgot I added this and spent 2 hours trying to fix my game crashing right after the startup movies. Any way someone could port/update this to WOTC?

Out of the blue here, but this mod appearently bugs Vipers, they become invisible and the target icon is bugged, disabling the mod made so that the Vipers functioned normally and was visible and correctly targeted. Might be just on my end tho since I run a few mods...

@Nitewolf You are likely supposed to unsubscribe from this mod for LW2. Technicals in LW2 have their own ability that allows them to panic with flamethrower.

-bg- on the subject of flamethrowers, would you happen to know how to change the cone? I see the range and radius defined in DefaultGameData_WeaponsData.ini as Radius=7, Range=25, but then in DefaultGameData_SoldierSkills.ini the heavy weapons ability section, it has tile_length=15, tile_width=5.
If I change the tile length to 21 or 30, would that give the cone a range of 35 and 50 (assuming the range is basically the cone's volume) or would I need to do something else?

Really like the QOL mods you make and am looking at all your workshop items. I only ask this because you seem proficient and thought it might be the kind of QOL thing you do.
In Xcom EU "Long War"-when you took the heavy ordnance perk you would see an image of 2 grenades in the slot when you were loading out for a mission. It was really helpful for a guy like me who could barely keep track of what every perk does.
I simply want the same thing for Xcom 2. A simple QOL image would make life easier, and I bet it would be well received too. Currently I have to exit out of loadout screen and check my abilities instead of just seeing 2 of whatever I equip in the grenade slot with the ability.

What do you think?

ok, now I have the DLC, you can easily fix it by removing +SparkHeavyWeaponAbilitiesForBit="Flamethrower"
+SparkHeavyWeaponAbilitiesForBit="FlamethrowerMk2"
from XComGameCore.ini in steamapps\common\XCOM 2\XComGame\DLC\DLC_3

the only side effect is the lost of bonus from rainmaker but I will make a mod that allows rainmaker to support other heavy weapons fix that.

ya... the spark uses a separate ability for heavy weapons, causing some issues. If you don't mind the lack of animation, I can probably fix it. But I need the code for the SPARK's heavy weapons ability code since I don't have the DLC.

I have a SPARK with a Hellfire projector and the ability isn't showing up for them. I also have Heavy Weapon Tweak installed but I dont think that conflicts. Nothing else I'm running should be altering heavy weapons

Are you sure theres no way to make it display as "hellfire projector" again? its only a little bug but being a grammar nazi it triggers my ocd like fucking crazy.

Sure, like this "Hellfire projector will now show up as 'Fire Flamethrower' in ability bar, this is a limitation in the flamethrower panic check that is written in XComGameState that I can't override, there's a hard way to go around this but I don't think it's worth the effort. "

If the above changes, or someone finds an easier workaround, will you implement it? In my last playthrough, a couple of mods didn't update with Anarchy's Children DLC and the update that followed, and it practically broke my game. This mod looks very promising, but now I always check if the mod creator plans to update the mod in the future.

you'll need to add a panic effect that does a separate roll on oneffectadded to your ability.

I figured, but wanted to check if it was tied to the weapon, or just to the burning status. Either way, probably ly going to try this out. Probably far more balanced for it not to work with the Flamer mod. It would be an infinite panic button :-p

probably won't work with those, since they might add another ability to use, but the panic check requires the specific flamethrower ability to trigger, hence the known issue in the description.

@Thetanker14 if you want to make your weapon cause panic you should copy the effect from mindspin and put it in bonusweaponeffects instead, the panic trigger for flamethrowers triggers on damage and is hardcoded.

@Havelock Vertinari: Either it was intended to actually work and is buggy do to not testing, or it working at all is a bug. In the case of the latter it's at the very least something more specific that actually could be overseen even during somewhat proper testing then this and the smokeys not working according to their description; or one not working at all.

They also didn't test using the Wraith Suit to get out of a Viper's bind. It's obviously intended to work, but the soldier keeps stuck and getting bound damage per turn, while the Viper gets to slither and attack as she pleases.

Nice, another bug that even basic testing of the features would have made obvious...but well, Firaxis/2K obviously didn't bother testing their own features(this and the Smoke Grenades/Bombs are now confirmed at least)...
