Your fleet is on 52th place at Fleet Rankings v2 by SE Praisal!
Also, here's a direct link to browse the fleet on SE Praisal [spaceengineerspraisal.net]

Ohaha, that's a title you have yet to earn! And there's a lot of competition ;)
Rhea.licious 6 Jan, 2020 @ 11:20pm
Oh no, I didn't put HDY out of business, did I?
boomdude67 9 Dec, 2019 @ 9:52am
Unfortionally, The drive yard went out of business, Their competitors overtook them with more modern designs compared to the aging designs of the Hades Ship Yards.
(JK Just posting personal lore. This is not canon and should not be taken as so)

I see, I was unaware of the ablative armor function for the panels! That you use decoys is great, something I am only now starting to integrate into my designs.

Glad you took it as constructive feedback. Best of luck for your future builds!

The ship is designed for survival specifically, as it was designed in said mode. The Steel Catwalks are actually ablative plating over a lighly armored hull. Within the actual hull in various areas are decoys to draw turret fire to less crucial, more heavily armored sections. Your critique is understandable though, yeah, as I was trying to take note of the glaring flaws. The lack of a proper CIC is indicative of it's role as a counter to the Corruption PvE mod that everyone uses. Against PMWs too, it suffers excessively. The entire design absolutely reeks of a 1st draft.

Yeah I built the bridge without much inspiration. I always enjoyed the idea of something that didn't jut out the top, always hated the Star Wars designs for that bit. If you want to test it out in a game, by all means, try it out. :D It's tanky enough on its own to weather plenty of fire from ships of a class above itself.

In any case, many thanks for the critique! :D

(part 2)

One thing you could improve is the general shape of your ship though. The front starts out great but at the aft end the shape does not change much on the main hull, and that makes the part look monotonous. To avoid that, you could for example imitate layered armor and in such a way create accents. I use different colours in these parts too to make it stand out more. If you take a look at my newest designs you can see how I use it, or you can check out k_medlock, because he's the real MVP for that.

Same with the walkway parts. They look good if you have them cover small areas, but on a large surface their repetitive pattern is detrimental to the looks. One option would be to also use the gridded window pieces to break up the surface, or replacing some of the panels with solar arrays.

Overall a good start, especially since it was the first ship you ever finished! The ship is better than my first published ship. I feel honored that you asked me for my opinion, thanks!

Keep in mind that I don't play survival so I am not sure how effective your ship would be in an actual playthrough. There are some minor problems I can see, such as the lack of a conveyor connection to the air vent on the bridge or the lack of a refinery (which I myself do regularily), but that should be easily fixed.

The design language is consistent and I like the way you tried to avoid using the 45 degree slopes. This makes your ship look better IMHO because it removes the weird grey lines along the edges. That way you keep shapes uninterrupted except for when you want to. That is very well done. You aslo have some nice hidden thrusters, such as along the sides of the ship.

The interior of the bridge looks great actually, the crew has a nice view of the surroundings and along the front of the ship. My guess here is that you've been inspired by the Anaconda from Elite: Dangerous, the ship has a very similar bridge layout and visibility.

Apologies, ignore that other link. It's no longer the link I prefer to use. I was a dunce when I uploaded that ship design. xD I uploaded the world, not the blueprint. This has been fixed. :D

I am not trying to self-promote, I can't stand people that do that, but I'm curious if I could get some opinions on a single ship design of mine? It's the only worthwhile model I've ever finalized.

If you have the time at all. :P
J4R  [author] 24 Jul, 2018 @ 11:34am
All right, thanks for including me. Really a nice idea and I am looking forward to seeing the ranking develop further.
Akuukis 24 Jul, 2018 @ 11:22am
I have make a survey of 33 fleets on SE workshop, including your fleet. Furthermore I ranked them according to lots of criteria. I appreciate your work as fleet creator, and I'd love to hear your comments on the rankings, see it here .

Thanks @Imglidinhere for the review! Hope you enjoyed my ships. Both the ships you mentioned are rather old, I hope that I can bring in some newer replacements or reworks soon. Again, thanks for the reviews ;)
Imglidinhere 25 May, 2017 @ 4:40am
I was planning to test the Resurrection, but noticed the time, and then after that I was going to go for the Vengeance and see exactly how tough that ship is. I'm using only vanilla weaponry and a single mod (energy shields - the popular one going around the workshop and on EVERY dedicated server. :P).

But yeah, if you're planning on attacking anyone or anything in a survival server environment and you can pick from one of the two reviewed ships... I'm willing to bet that the Dauntless would be the better pick, since most battles are won within 10-15 seconds in my own live tests. You don't take chances, you don't risk anything, you go all in or not at all. :) Love these ships. :3 came here throught the ACI ship collection. ^_^ That creator recommended your stuff too.

I've tested a few ships for durability and combat prowess, here's my unofficial response for each:

Redemption Cruiser - Very tough to kill. Even after crippling the weapons, the amount of firepower required to bring all systems offline is staggering for a ship of this size. Recommend using this to frontline all assaults. Hope to GOD this design isn't released to pirates or other commercial users.

Dauntless Dreadnaught - Packs a punch. High burst damage. Volley fire is so crazy, most of my own designs were felled in the first two full 6-rocket salvos. Oddly flimsy compared to the cruiser mentioned above. Has very little in the way of protection and seems to falter rapidly if the enemy can mount any sort of sustained attack on any part of the ship. Even staggered, random firing seemed to amount to an unusually high amount of damage to both the hull and weapon systems.

Okay awesome to hear that! Looking forward to it.
J4R  [author] 29 Nov, 2016 @ 12:42pm
I sadly lost the image so I will have to make a new one for my teaser picture.
Thanks for the compliments! Still work in progress, I have to make one where I talk abour the Ori Republic and the Endurance War.
k_medlock 29 Nov, 2016 @ 11:39am
Cool! I did not notice the new image you use for your collection, it looks great. Same goes for the lore :D
Grand King Eldrin 6 Aug, 2016 @ 4:06pm
Awesome Thanks!
J4R  [author] 6 Aug, 2016 @ 1:23pm
If you want you can use the images, you can aswell subscribe and make screens or modifications yourself, if that helps. I'd like though to stay independent form other lores so i can change stuff if i want to. I hope you don't mind, and good luck with your wiki! And thanks for asking me first place, others i heard of were not so kind.
Grand King Eldrin 6 Aug, 2016 @ 6:11am
Hey I'd like to use the ships you created (Images only!) in a science fiction wiki I have been putting together. http://galtrax-galaxy.wikia.com/wiki/Galtrax_Galaxy_Wiki
I can use the lore you have already made but it would need some tweaking otherwise you are free to make new lore- I also can make new lore. I just need your permission and feel free to check out the site even if you are not interested!
J4R  [author] 24 Jul, 2016 @ 2:53am
Thanks a lot, very nice words! I always like to make lore so people know what playstyle the ships are and why they were built, and i also enjoy reading other people's lore.
Keq 24 Jul, 2016 @ 2:43am
I realy like the history and info you provide with all your ships makes the ships feel like they have been lived in.
