just one thing which dissapoints me. as its a unique building, it flattens the ground around the castle. So i cant shape mountains so that the castle sits on them... looks a bit weird to see a mountain castle with flat terrain all around.
making this a Prop would solve this. I also would like it more in original scale.
Could you do that pls? :) i would send you some nice pictures whith it in nice landscape in return to add to workshop :)
If I would show you UV layout you may be surprised how many parts are overlayed/stacked.
However size of the packed model is not what I am worried about, what I care about is how CO is doing it and what they recommend we shall do for our models to be properly used by their game ;)
So I followed most of their guidlines. Only limit I didn't full fill is the lod tris count. They said we shall have up to 200 tris for lod, but for this kinda "organic" like structure this is almost impossible without compromising "seen switch" between LOD and high poly model.
And frankly I checked some of the original assets and they are also widely using big textures, even bigger that it is mine. So I don't see a problem in 2kx1k ;)
Btw what exactly you mean with "stacking shells" o.O
when you are open to mod sugestions, givve a call, i have 2 ideas for trams that noone seems to have time for them.... im no modder, all i have done is ets2 skins (easy peasy) and some tryes at farming sim maps (none published).

Expecially because it is NOT (like too many others ) above 10mb to 30mb!
1. Solution: is it possible to size the castle to 1:1 in your 3D soft, and then cut it into pieces?
(maybe with plugin)
Or you should ask "bouldlybuilding" how he did it with his empire state building (he has a 11 part version and a one part version)
I think he can help you!
Greetings from Germany
1. use Sub-buldings feature -> I don't like it because model was not made for it so spliting texture in two parts it's not easy as it seems
2. just create two unique buildings -> I don't like it either bacause you have to have perfectly flat area for two pieces to align togetther
3. just make a model out of bounds of the building -> again there is a problem with flattening, because game just doesn't care about terrain outside bounds, meaning there will be either artifical wall or castle will be torn into the ground.
So if anyone has any other solution for this issue please, let me know ;)
@[RS] Marco: yes, it's me.
