This makes the early game of legend on ironman so much less sadistic. I love it. It doesn't make sense for XCOM to leave those two seats on the Firebrand empty with all those rookies in the barracks, either, making this make more sense.

As Oneida mentioned, robojumper's squad select fixes the squad-select-screen's-UI-shifts-to-the-right bug. Oneida linked to the WOTC version of robojumper's mod, though. Here's the vanilla version:

The mod robojumper's Squad Select seems to have fixed the issue for me. Even if the launcher shows a conflict, both mods works fine.

You'll be happy to know you mod works with WOTC. But the equipment screen moves to right after the first team member is outfitted. Kinda annoying...

Yeah im getting the squad selection moving to the right as well. i really like this mod but i cant use it with that bug, its so annoying. :/

Yup same bug with the squad selection moving 3 slots to the right, when you remove a squad member. =(

I'm having the same problem as Olin011. Removing this mod is the only thing that fixes it.

I'm getting UI bug in the squad selection screen with this mod after the last patch. The screen and soldier slots load fine. However, if I make an changes (for example remove one soldier and replace him/her with another) all the slots shift to the right so much that 3 of the slots go off the screen. They are no longer aligned with the soldiers. I didn't change anything in my mod configuration apart from adding this mod. I also redownloaded the config folder/verified the game cache before applying this mod. I believe removing GTS upgrade reminder slots may be messing something up after the last patch.

@Anisotropic, max is 8 soldiers as the game gives you s 3x3 area to spawn in, leaving you one space for a VIP. Any more than 8 soldiers will cause strange spawns.

Never mind, false alrm. the invisible dropship soldiers, and ground T-posed soldiers is being caused by something else that I cannot seem to figure out. Resubbing.

Hey I liked this mod a lot, but I beleive it is now malfunctioning. All of a sudden my soldiers no longer visibly show up in the troop bay. So they are "invisible". When they invisible repel down the ropes, the camera pans over to them being T-posed.

Is that supposed to happen?

I am verifying the cache files, to see if the squad size number will go back to four and such.

You can edit the config and change m_iMaxSoldiersOnMission to whatever you want. This will remain fixed throughout the game.

Be warned - I didn't put anything in which would explicitly break it, but I also haven't tested the UI for more than 6 soldiers.

I'm planning on using mods that vamp up difficulty, add more pods, and add additional aliens, so 8 troops would be handy

This mod is basically made to remove squad size upgrades, so I don't think combining it with additional squad size upgrades would make sense. I'm not sure what you are trying to do?

With this mod, Gatecrasher isn't handled differently from any other mission.
I would look out for any other mod that affects squad size (i.e. might have changed m_iMaxSoldiersOnMission)

I am not able to get the Gatecrasher to six soldiers. Is there an additional step I need to take to get that?

@Grumpyz, yes, that's an important part of the mod. Unless you want to be stuck with 4 squad members for the entire game. :)

Sadly, I can't fix the ini processing - that's an issue with all mods. The best fix is to just delete everything in your Config folder after changing your mods. Yeah, it sucks.

This mod changed the actual gamedata.ini to 6, so even after unsubbing, my squad still started at 6, you may want to fix that. I had to go back and change it myself, some people may not be able to fix it themselves, lol.

i hate having 8 squad members, makes fight really tedious.
At the same time, starting with 4 members on higher difficulty is almost impossible. Starting with more, but having GTS makes me only want to upgrade them, well cause its in the scope of the game. so this is pretty much the best compromise :D

There's another mod which does something very similar by granting you both squad size upgrades after the first mission.

For new games, the main difference with this mod is that you get six troops in Gatecrasher. Which is nice if you're loading up on difficulty mods.

Existing games are handled a little differently too - if you've got Squad Size I, the other mod won't do anything and will make you wait to buy II, while my mod gives you six immediately - but you have to rebuy GTS perks.
