I think its so sad that this map is just too old to work properly. It didn't crash on my pc or anything (my Pc is about 8 years old now), but the graphics are just so bad and buggy.
From what I could tell it really was awesome, but Its hardly playable

@kondor I was only asking I get that it's been 5 years. but thanks for letting me know its dead as this map has some cool shit but with the issues it has yeah I'll just move to a different map

is this map ever gonna be updated? you did say you where gonna update it in 2020 and never did. Just asking and I get it we all have life's outside of gaming so I just wanted to ask nicely.

While the map is really cool, I can't bare to play it. My computer is strong enough to run it, but several textures were glitchy and poor quality despite being on Epic. On top of that, the terrain was wonky and plants were either levitating in mid air, or there was no ground at some sports. And this was prevalent in the entire area I spawned in. I'm afraid I cannot recommend this map, but I will give credit to the mod author anyway: It's an epic concept, and I love the floating islands... But until the map has been further optimized in some shape or form where this kind of eyesore stuff isn't around, I can't place it in my modpack.

I tried to play this map. I just couldn't do it. The map is so buggy. Every few seconds my FPS would just lag out continuously and I don't have this issue on any of the other maps.

I looked for suggestions online of which were the best maps, and this was listed. I gave this map a lot of chances. It kept crashing repeatedly. Sorry.

Too heavy map - not enoth 16gb ram and rtx 2060

I Like the map so far maybe if more dev`s get on the "boat" that might be the next fjordur (i hope because Atlas was BS and we neat propper Pirat content anyway)

I've been trying to load this map for over an hour, trying to test it. It looks amazing! I want to do a streaming series here! But it's stuck on day 0 and I keep getting the "invalid authentication token". error message. It won't load me in at all.

Is ya water okay? seems like it isn't actually water- anyways, this was a nice map it's just it's really unbalanced, props are misplaced, it needs some work- aside from that, great creativity!

Unplayable. It looks like a very nice map but you stutter and lag and literally cannot move. The water is transparent so not textured properly. Has the potential to be a very nice map but requires a whole heck of work.

This was a GOOD concept but SADLY has been abandoned. See date for last update.......2019! So much was left WIP that now it's just like knowing what could have been and what it really is NOT. If the developer ever comes back just know that many of us would've played this.

I'm experiencing stuttering and freezes of the game on this map, with the consequent obligation to close it. I could only have a quick view of the environment and it looks AMAZING. I hope it will get some fixes to get along with Genesis 2 update.

so tried this map for my pirate server, it didn't hold up to how beautiful the pics made it, and for some reason admin flight mode does cause ALOT of lag, water is see through and not crystal blue like the pics, i don't recommend to anyone, we are changing our servers map once we find a better pirate map

I've been away...with work and COVID my time has been minimal to work on maps but I'm going to start looking to get some updates for Fall / Winter of 2020.

Sorry for the lack of updates, works been crazier now that i'm working from home. Who knew? I thought i'd work less hours but its been a lot lot more.

Hey, curious about the status of the map, it's currently got heavy texture issues due to the genesis update. There's also still some floating foilage in certain area's, some particle effects are broken, so they're default textured squares. Few rocks have lost their textures, SE ones from the look of it.
Lighting may need to be redone too, massive shadowline that's affected most maps since the update too when moving alone the horizon.
Wondering if you'll be updating it or have any plans to work on a fix even?

Random Teleporting

Anybody else experiencing this? It has happened a few times in random locations killing me in the process. I do have"-noundermeshchecking" in launch options

How do you increase the spawnrate on the creatures on this map. Used to being hunted at every corner walking around it seems kinda dead only a few dinos in the distance

@Spirit3057: That's not it at all, there wasn't a Dev post since May, sorry for thinking it was a dead mod after months of silence :) odd I know.

@TheAlchemist: No worries mate, I know how work goes, just glad to hear you are still doing your thing!

People expect modders to be able to create a map file when they want it. People give all modders the time to do what they are trying to do. Some may have jobs or other real life things to take care of. Unless you know how to do what these great modders are trying to do, be patient and you might be surprised by the finished work.

Its not dead. I work a full time job in the games industry and just have not had the time to actively hit this map. All three of my maps will be updated in 2020. That's a promise. Just need to be a bit more patient. :)

found this map fun then a random raptor spawned on top of me, no big deal. I respond in a rock surrounded by predators, the spawn locations need to be fixed because It keeps spawning me in the same area regardless of where I chose

Today I took a look at Thieves Island. First of all, it DOES look breathtaking in general! However, there are a couple of downsides, alas. Floating plants and rocks where they don't belong, trees as well. Missing textures in some flying squares (guess was supposed to be some birds). Many issues with lighting - from haziness to black horizon, gray landscape, etc. The "every-two-second-stuttering" occured for me as well (SP). One time I got warped from one spot to another. And the size of 4.5GB is maybe just a bit over the top.

I appreciate all your hard work. It must have taken a whole bunch of months or even years! To make your map perfect, maybe try a little less, because sometimes it's a little more. ;)

I wish you all the best for your future work and hope one day Thieves Island will be an official map. The potential is there! =)

This map looks amazing except for a couple things.... having issues with low fps and everything is hazy... I thought it was just fog at first but it doesn't go away so it really downplays the beauty because of discoloration to the land, animals, and the sky looks very odd with it...
I was really looking forward to playing this map but these two issues don't do it for me.
