@Arbiter Thel Sorry, I am not.
Arbiter Thel 17 Jan, 2021 @ 11:23pm
are you still working on this?
Stealth4Health  [author] 12 Apr, 2017 @ 6:54am
@Jean Lannes They should still work I think.
Marshal Lannes 15 Mar, 2017 @ 3:47am
I like your units. Are they still available? Or, does the mod need updating?
Stealth4Health  [author] 22 Jul, 2016 @ 5:33am
@Magister_equitum Thanks for the comments.

First, I have overthrown this Mod idea again and I am now redoing stuff. I also changed my mind on the dress and equipment the units are using here in this mod. I am not going to use the controversial rawhide cuirass and the attic helmet anymore.

Because of the textures, they are indeed not only too bright but do also reflect the light way too much. The way Total War's engine is handling the textures I am creating with Substance Painter and then converting with BOB is not optimal. But I am redoing them anyway. And I need to atleast adjust the roughness and metallness maps more.

Regarding the tunic colours, I will probably use primarily white and red ones.

Concerning the variety, I hesistate to mix the vanilla models with my new models. As I finish more and more models and update the Mod, the variety will increase though.

Magister_equitum 7 Jul, 2016 @ 1:41am
By the way, when I make a unit, I usually create 3 empty meshes - "poor", "medium" and "rich" - for every type of unit and I add 3-4 sets of armor to each type. This system provides great variety, I suggest trying to use it in one of your future packs

Please, don't consider my critics personal. Your pack is good, I just want to point some problems out to you :-)

PS Sorry if I have some grammar mistakes. English is definitely not my native language.
Magister_equitum 7 Jul, 2016 @ 1:41am
My attitude towards this mod is slightly controversial.

Units are historical - that's great, but it is their appearance what bothers me.

Units are too bright. Really, if you replac their bright-red tunics with some other, not so agressive colour (brown, grey, dark green, etc), your units will look much better.

I am a unit-maker too and there was a time when I ran into the same problem and repainting tunics and cloaks helped me a lot :-)

The second problem is with armor. Attila's engine allowes you to make a great variety of units, so why do so many units (in different unit packs) wear just the same 1, 2 or 3 types of armor?
Why not adding more types of armor?
This would make the pack more attractive and realistis, for, even though Roman had some kind of weapon manufactories, the equipment of soldiers in one unit was different.

AWESOOMOOOOO
Stealth4Health  [author] 1 May, 2016 @ 12:18am
@Tallestdavid I accepted your friendship request. I will explain to you how to make your own shield. Generally, I am of the opinion that reusing the same assets everywhere again and again is not really beneficial due to several reasons. The original mods loose their own uniqueness. It does not make them any special anymore, almost not distinguishable. Nor does it motivate the other modders to improve and start creating own new content.
TallestDavid 30 Apr, 2016 @ 5:58am
could i use your shiedl model? :D
Stealth4Health  [author] 19 Apr, 2016 @ 7:53am
@El español sin miedo Thanks. The Casus Belli Mod Pack is the new Wargamer's Mod Pack. I wasn't satisfied with the results of the former version so with Casus Belli I am now redoing everything with a lot more attention to detail.
The Running Man 18 Apr, 2016 @ 7:49pm

Stealth4Health  [author] 17 Apr, 2016 @ 2:07pm
@El español sin miedo I am very glad to hear that! Thanks!
The Running Man 14 Apr, 2016 @ 6:03pm

Any sneak peak on the update?
Stealth4Health  [author] 13 Apr, 2016 @ 5:19pm
@Boba Fett The Ioviani Seniores and Herculiani Seniores are units of the western empire.
Stealth4Health  [author] 13 Apr, 2016 @ 5:18pm
@El español sin miedo @Iroquois Pliskin I have been focusing on my next Lanciarii Unit Mod Pack. After it is released I will definitely get back to this one here and redo a lot of stuff plus add new things.
Stealth4Health  [author] 13 Apr, 2016 @ 5:16pm
@Great Black Jaguar Thanks!
NPC 13 Apr, 2016 @ 3:41am

Big Boss 11 Apr, 2016 @ 3:49pm
Ya I've been checking this religiously, cant wait for the next update
The Running Man 10 Apr, 2016 @ 12:06pm
how much left for the next update?
Apis in Memphis 7 Apr, 2016 @ 10:12pm
Stealth4Health@ Sumptuously!
Ragnar 4 Apr, 2016 @ 10:15pm
ok
Stealth4Health  [author] 4 Apr, 2016 @ 10:07pm
@Ragnar The next Unit Pack will be dedicated to the Lanciarii.
Stealth4Health  [author] 4 Apr, 2016 @ 10:05pm
@Tallestdavid I use 3ds Max.
Stealth4Health  [author] 4 Apr, 2016 @ 10:00pm
@Juanplay @Ernst von Jacob That makes sense. As soon as I have made new chainmail and scale armour, I will probably replace it.
Ragnar 4 Apr, 2016 @ 7:30am
what next ?
SEVR0 4 Apr, 2016 @ 7:23am
Finally someone made the proper Ioviani Seniores shield pattern. But why the leather cuirass? I suggest heavy mail and scale. Keep up the good work. Cant wait to see the Herculani Iuniores too.
Zhenja1 3 Apr, 2016 @ 10:14am
Neiderbeiber was still in use during the 4th century its not too too far fetched ;)
TallestDavid 2 Apr, 2016 @ 5:33pm
nice! what do you use to model these?
The Running Man 2 Apr, 2016 @ 3:36pm
it will be epic if some units have the Niederbieber helmet
The Running Man 2 Apr, 2016 @ 3:33pm
@Juanplay they are in city patrol dress...in the palace they would use full armor
Juanplay 2 Apr, 2016 @ 2:27pm
Beautiful models. However i disagree regarding the choice of armor for these troops, i have no desire to initiate a discussion regarding the use of leather and rawhide in the late roman army, but these are the most senior troops of the empire i would think they would have the best equipment avaliable such as long coats of mail, scale or lamellar.
The Running Man 2 Apr, 2016 @ 10:06am
WOW COOL will you also add the spartan army who fought the goths as well?
Stealth4Health  [author] 1 Apr, 2016 @ 7:44pm
@The_Yogi I will create more scabbards! :) Regarding the Plumbata racks, I am not going to use any vanilla shields, so attaching the racks right to the new shield models is more comfortable.
Stealth4Health  [author] 1 Apr, 2016 @ 7:40pm
@arik_saito A Niederbieber helmet would probably be a bit too early, not sure if I am going to do one. Maybe I could use one for a heavy cavalry unit like the Scola Gentilium Seniorum though. But this type of unit is at the very end of my late Roman unit list so it could take a while until I get there.
Stealth4Health  [author] 1 Apr, 2016 @ 7:37pm
@Gaius Julius Caesar Probably yes.
Stealth4Health  [author] 1 Apr, 2016 @ 7:36pm
@Aurelianus_Augustus Well, this how they are often decipted in late Roman art. The problem is that it also just could be a mere product of artistic license. The rawhide cuirass and the Attic type helmet are very controversial topics. Some say artistic ignorance and artistic convention is unlikely. Others think they were anachronisms.
The_Yogi 1 Apr, 2016 @ 6:36pm
Ooh, Scabbards! Make more of them!

Suggestion: Why don't you make the plumbata racks as a small variantmodel that can be stuck to any Vanilla shield models, something like bosses. This way you don't need to create entire shields.

Also, I believe making scabbard models for all kinds of vanilla blades would be a very popular mod.
Zhenja1 1 Apr, 2016 @ 3:40pm
I'm hoping for some Buch or Neiderbieber helmets with lamellar ;)
Stealth4Health  [author] 1 Apr, 2016 @ 9:14am
@Alaric ( Delta_07 ) Thanks a lot, I am glad to hear that!
Ductus Deferens 1 Apr, 2016 @ 8:23am

@Alaric ( Delta_07 ) Thanks! There are some bugs in the current version, I am working as quickly as possibel to fix them! But yes, this unit mod pack will be only a small part of my Casus Belli project.
