I've downloaded Gimp 2, but I'm not sure how to get started. Can you tell me a simplified version of the steps that you go through to make this stuff and post them on Steam?
And is it an overall easy task?
Coz I've drawn some cool designs in paint for different units/buildings, just never knew how to put them in the game :(
@julian, almost no chance I will get to the Slav/Magyar set. I dont play those civs often, plus its a massive task! Part of the reason the italians are easier is becuase of the great textures we gained in African Kingdoms buildings. No such luck for the Eastern Europe set.
But, if you have some clear vision for how they can look - you should try DL'ing 'Gimp' (its a free version of photoshop) and having a crack yourself. You might find that the copy-paste method is surprisingly easy to achieve.
@Wolf you have answered your own question there, nothing to clarify I think.
You could probably replace the castle age colors+textures with the imperial ones. Then use the darker fortified wall textures as an imperial look.
It's alot of work and maybe you don't care or have the time, but think about it.
Look at this to visualize what I mean: http://imgur.com/05WVMSE
I have also been working on some Byzantine stuff - but that is a slow burn, particualry becuase it cant currently be MP compatible.
