I think the campaign is an overall good one, the only thing that I don't like about it is manually loading each subsequent map, otherwise four stars.

sorry but this map is very poor, enemy spam is terrible, maps being too dark requiring mat fullbright, and the layout being confusing makes this a unfun experience even with cheats

There are some good elements in these maps. However the INSANE and obvious enemy spam in every map is what makes it so terrible. Overall this is a drag to get through, seeing the same enemies always in huge groups with little equipment to deal with them.

I seriously suspect that the main force of combine is engaging the hero in this campaign, that explains why so few guard to stop Freeman in the City 17 citidal.

low quality, entity placement is stupid with way too many headcrabs or zombies in one room, while i do understand you may not be the best at coding and not know how to load maps automatically with triggers (or something i have no idea how to code at all) for how bad you may be this is dogshit, lowest quality of a campaign you can find, i do not recommend getting this, more or less a waste of space, if you fix the entity spam that would be way better, but not sure if you can make this any better for how low of a quality set of maps this is

You can't play this map seriously, they literally give you the bare armaments to deal with the awful enemy spam. They literally expect you to spawn in your own weapons, in which case, what's the fucking point? It's just an excuse to cover up how horribly designed the combat sections are.

This is fucking horrendous, holy shit.

It's just fucking enemy spam. It is not balanced around stock HL2 weapons at all. At one point you climb a ladder only to be ventilated by over a dozen Metrocops with only the bare minimum of cover.

How the fuck does this have 4 stars????

You should emphasize that only multiplayer are recommended in description, it's fun to play with three friends, but it's nearly impossible to play alone

if you want to test weapons it's a good campaign, but if you want to play it unironically this campaign is really REALLY bad. It's just enemy spam

This map is really good. managed to complete every level except level 8. The only part I could not complete is when you are in the water. I have no idea of where I need to go. It difficult tho, but the rest of the levels are great

for those who have problems with NPC spam on this guy's maps, i reccomend using M9K weapons or anything like that, they generally do much more damage and significantly reduces the difficulty in that regard, without completely removing all challenge (at least that was my experience playing through Another Universe, another campaign by this guy)

Was actually pretty fun when i tried it out for myself after reading all of the negative reviews in this comment section. Sure your map does have a big problem with the npc spam. and i mean big problem. But all in all; in my experience. It does deserve it's four stars.

Do not recommend. Too many enemies to be fun and gun fights that take place outside the effective range of all base Half-Life 2 guns (other than the crossbow and revolver).

I mean, the world design is pretty great, it all feels like typical places in City 17 and beyond, and the maps are pretty, but it's really just the enemy spam that kills this mappack. If there was just an update, or an edited version, that removed like two thirds of all enemies, it would already be far more enjoyable.

Part 2: Here is an example of a situation in the game. You are directed towards an empty area the size of a football stadium, with 40 combine soldiers and 5 hunters behind you. You eventually find a room that stands out and go into it, while being shot at. There is interactable items, ladders, props and ammo, it looks like a standard hl room. You spend a minute or so looking for what to do until you realise 'oh no wait, this isn't where I go, I actually have to go to some dark door on the other side of the map that has no lights nearby or guidance towards, guess I'll die and reset the entire map seeing how I am a pistol vs 50 smgs' It's just a complete mess that is borderline worse than hunt down the freeman. I can see the dev tried, but that doesn't mean it's good, or fun, or interesting at all.

Part 1: I really don't like being unnecessarily harsh about things, but I have to put it blunt - this map pack is terrible. Every single room has about 20-100 enemies (no hyperbole), and you are given weapons like a pistol with 30 bullets. The sections are either plain, large hallways that can take minutes to walk through with nothing in them, or colossal, completely empty plazas with no cover or sense of direction, and 100 enemies. You have absolutely no idea where to go 90% of the time or what you are supposed to be doing, and whenever you would be able to see the path, you can't because it's almost always pitch black. Half of the time when entering a new area you have to drop down a cliff, dying or losing almost all of your health. There are 0 puzzles throughout the maps (unless you count things as basic as 1+1), it's either shoot enemies for 5 minutes or walking sim. Those are just a few examples of things wrong with this.

But when you get thrown into a pit with tons of antlions, antlion workers, and a guardian that you have to kill in order to progress, I just want to noclip through. How do you expect people to play this campaign seriously when you allow them to get their own weapons, when they have to cheat in order to progress, or when they just quit out of frustration. I say again, this map pack does have some good parts, but they get covered up by how much bad there is.

If you have a 'rule' saying that "You can use any weapon you want!" why supply the player with a bunch of weak weapons? Did you ever consider that the player wants to take the campaign seriously? My god, I'm just so mad at how bad the majority of this map pack is. I don't even want to talk abut what happened after the Citadel blew up. Don't get me wrong, it was interesting, but made no sense. I'm reading other people's comments and I agree with them. This map pack has its good parts, like the beginning, when you have to use flammable gas to blow up the large metal door. That was fun. Way too many enemies for the limited amount of weapons and ammo you get. The're more hunters in this map pack than in Half Life 2: Episode 2! Oh and don't even get me started on how almost every place you have to fall down you take fall damage. You should never take the players health away just to advance to the next room. City 17 doesn't have large streets and subway tunnels filled to the brim with headcrabs and zombies. Whenever there is a zombie section, you're practically fighting the entirety of Ravenholm's zombie population. But with instead of fighting in an interesting environment that you can use to your advantage, you're fighting in an empty box. Part one of three comments.

I am very saving with the things that I find (healkit and suit battery), but man!. This is very difficult and too many headcrabs. With reason we a fugitive of high rank.
