Probably because something went wrong when installing the mod, the BSA got renamed/put in the wrong location, or a setting was reverted and is so preventing the game from reading BSAs from mods. I'd check through your Data folder to make sure the Kusanagi esp is accompanied by an identically-named BSA, as well as your ini files to make sure important settings haven't been reverted. Google's your best friend for this venture since there's bound to be other reasons for this issue.

DEvasto  [author] 13 Aug, 2017 @ 6:06am
If you mean you're CTDing, particularly right after the Bethesda logo, you might be missing a master the mod requires. Kusanagi requires both the Dawnguard and Dragonborn DLC; if one or both are missing, the game's gonna flip its lid.
CreepyCat64 13 Aug, 2017 @ 1:02am
thanks but i keep gliching out of skyrim when i turnd the mod on
DEvasto  [author] 12 Aug, 2017 @ 11:03am
If it didn't and you're certain you spelled it correctly, chances are pretty good the mod's not active. Check the Data Files section on the game launcher to see if it is, the little box by it should be ticked if it is active.
CreepyCat64 12 Aug, 2017 @ 3:39am

Thx for the info
Captain Flowers 16 Apr, 2016 @ 3:17am
Ignoring the rude comments on the lore, this really is amazing sword. Not many real lore mods are out there that are really good. There is Excalibur and Mjolnir, however. The Kunsanagi has excellent design to it. And it's also perfect for a character I have that is based on the great warrior, Yamato Takeru, who was given the Kusanagi as a pair of gifts by his aunt, Yamato-hime the Shrine Maiden of Ise Shrine, to protect her nephew in times of peril during the reign of the Twelfth Emperor, Keikō.
lukefi 15 Apr, 2016 @ 2:35pm
thx DEvasto
DEvasto  [author] 14 Apr, 2016 @ 6:21pm
Thanks, mate, glad you like it. :3
The Winged Sun 14 Apr, 2016 @ 6:18pm
That's okay! :)

The sword is excellent even without armor. You did a really good job!
DEvasto  [author] 14 Apr, 2016 @ 6:13pm
I can't say armor would happen anytime soon, unfortunately; it's presently outside of my skillset, as modeling goes.
The Winged Sun 14 Apr, 2016 @ 5:56pm
Okay. So I just used the sword and I was blown away by its special power when you do a strong attack. I did not expect the ability coming. The knock back affect is sooo much fun, that I fell in love with the sword even more!

Could you make armor base off of Amaterasu or just golden samurai armor to go with the sword?
DEvasto  [author] 14 Apr, 2016 @ 5:29pm
Iiit's 1-handed by default, though it can be switched to a 2-hander at a smelter. It's on my back in some screens because of a skeleton replacer.
Kei 14 Apr, 2016 @ 5:09pm
can you make a one handed version
DEvasto  [author] 14 Apr, 2016 @ 2:28pm
Dragonborn (which I deliberately spelled as "Dragonburn" because I'm a silly) and Dawnguard are both official DLC so they should show up as such when you click on the game in your library.

@Angmar Glad it worked out. I learned how to get that stuff working by dissecting other mods myself, so it's no big.
lukefi 14 Apr, 2016 @ 8:19am
Can anyone give me a link to Dragonburn and Dawnguard, please?
the Witch-King of Angmar 14 Apr, 2016 @ 4:48am
Thee shall still curse me if I'm basically using thou scripts and quest as templates to make my Moonlight Greatsword work ? I have already managed to change the color of the GradTurnUndEdge.dds and the emissive color of the projectile and now I'm digging in the esp to replace everything.

So I must thank thee I had almost given hope on making it work but your clean work allow me to see what is needed to make a weapon shoot laser ray.
DEvasto  [author] 13 Apr, 2016 @ 10:48am
Glad ya both like it. :3 I like to preserve the history of things like this because I find the myths and legends of other cultures fascinating, hence I consider it disrespectful to change things about a mythological/legendary weapon.
The Winged Sun 13 Apr, 2016 @ 8:30am
This mod is amazing and deserves to have its lore stay the way it is. The lore behind the sword is really amazing and thanks to Aydan for telling its full story to us. :)

From what Torkkar is saying, that for the mod to work its lore needs to be altered to fit in with that of Elder Scrolls. But let me say that by doing this would be a mockery to the true lore behind the sword. Kusanagi is not a sword from Elder Scrolls, it is a sword of the Shinto religion in Japan. Just like how Excaliber is the sword from King Arthur, and the Doom Hammer is the weapon of Thrall from WoW!

Saying he has to make the weapon lore-friendly to the game, is like saying you cannot write a book about wizards going to school, because magic doesn't exist in our world, or a book on the Greek Gods and their mortal children, because those gods don't truly exist.
Aydan 12 Apr, 2016 @ 6:08pm
It's really cool to see something from Shintoism appear here. If anyone wants to know more about the lore, the short version is that when the god of storms Susanoo was banished from heaven he was traveling the earth when he came across a greiving family of three, an old man, old women, and a young girl who he aproached and asked what was wrong. The family explained they used to have 8 daughters but every year an eight headed serpant called the Orochi would come and eat on of the daughters and soon their last daughter would be eaten. Susanoo ofered help on the condition that he could marry the daughter. When the Orochi appeared Susanoo placed 8 barrels of sake before it. After the Orochi fell asleep drunk on the sake Susanoo cut off each of its heads and chopped the body into pieces, and within the corpse he found the sword, which he later gave to Amaterasu as a gift to reconcile with her.

And to people who are complaining about lore-friendliness I only have one thing to say: kek
DEvasto  [author] 12 Apr, 2016 @ 10:23am
Torkkar, I'd like to make something clear. I respect the fact you're not ok with the mod on the grounds it's not "lore friendly", everyone's opinions differ and I don't flip my hate-switches because someone dislikes a mod of mine for whatever reason. However, the fact remains that I decided to retain the weapon's history NOT out of laziness, as you stated, but out of respect for the source. At the end of the day, while I will consider suggestions and constructive criticism, my mods are my ships and I am their captain, and I will not change them if I do not feel a change is necessary.

There will be no more discussion on the matter.
Captain Flowers 11 Apr, 2016 @ 11:39pm
It's just a mod, stop being so critical about it. If you (Torkkar) or anyone else don't like the mod, don't comment about it. Also, this is not the only mod that used mythological lore or whatever. There is Excalibur, Mjolnir etc. So stop complaining, and don't comment.
WiggleTheKobold 11 Apr, 2016 @ 9:37pm
"you where too lazy"

HE MADE AN ENTIRE MOD.

Devasto man take my advice and just delete comments like that, what you made here looks EPIC. if non-lore friendly-ness was Ban worthy then id ask you to mail me a usb with it to download from.

10/10 screw lore this is a great mod.
Torkkar 11 Apr, 2016 @ 9:19pm
your last post is ignored on false grounds man cause 1 i like the design of this sword 2 I can't use it cause its not lore friendly and I use Doom Hammer a WarCraft weapon that was Explained in a lore friendly way because in the Orcish home land there is an ancient clan called the Frost Wolves though they have been assumed died out since Dagger Fall the mod is still within the lore.

to make your's Lore Friendly you just need to cut all the crap out about Japan & Amaterasu and just make the thing a relic from the Summerset ilse & say it was devoted to Akatosh.

the only reason you went for Japanese lore is because its what you know you were too lazy to look up the elder Scrolls Lore that could apply to your weapon which took me all of 5min to get from 3 seperate wiki sights + the elder Scrolls main sight archives Aeadra/Deadra, & Provences sections.
DEvasto  [author] 11 Apr, 2016 @ 6:05pm
Hm, well, lore friendliness is hardly a bannable offense. 98-99% of mods probably wouldn't be considered "lore friendly", but that hasn't stopped people, considering there's mods that add lightsabers, weapons from Lord of the Rings, Macho Man Randy Savage dragons...the list goes on. Some of my mods don't exactly play the lore friendliness fiddle either; Artifacts of Ultima brings in weapons from a different game series, and Tenebrae, Silmeri and the Infinity Sword aren't part of the Elder Scrolls lore, though they have backstories that work them into it. With Kusanagi, I stuck to its legend rather than try to shoehorn it into the lore, because it has its own history and I like to retain such things. If I made Excalibur, it'd be the same way, I wouldn't try to stich it into the Elder Scrolls lore; I'd preserve its legend and even try to make its abilities reflect what the legends about it say it could do.
Torkkar 11 Apr, 2016 @ 5:34pm
thats serious rewrite your lore
DEvasto  [author] 11 Apr, 2016 @ 5:33pm
Are you being serious, or is that a jest?
Torkkar 11 Apr, 2016 @ 5:00pm
NOT LORE FRIENDLY = BAN Please
DEvasto  [author] 11 Apr, 2016 @ 4:07pm
There's a door opened by the Ewer where the frozen falmer and chaurus are, that leads to where the giant is. There's another Ewer door where the giant is hanging out; the sword lies beyond that one.
Windblade 11 Apr, 2016 @ 4:04pm
and its literally w/ the giant in auriel's temple? or at the center where a bunch of frozen falmer and chaurus are in? sorry for the questions, i get easily confused. :3
