Ah, nice. :) Well, it'll be awesome to see what you can come up with.

I do still have the project files for these on my NAS, so I can re-master them if need be. when I first put these out I think I was so used to listening to these that I was stuck in hearing them the way I wanted to, which is why producers and mastering engineers are usually different people.

Maybe I can also get around to the bonus tracks I had planned too :D

I listed to a couple of songs (02 and 03), and, though I do approve of remastering the tracks, I found some instruments to be too quiet, and others way too loud, and in a way which is different from the N64 versions. I think that if the loudness of these instruments can be adjusted, you'll have absolute perfection. :)

I'll note that I lack time to check the rest -yet-, but, I will probably tomorrow. Keep up the good work! :)

Thanks for that. I may have written it down in E,though. I play electric bass.

It's in Am. If you want to do anything musical with the soundtrack, grab {LINK REMOVED}. It contains both versions of the soundtrack, as well as the original MIDI files and samples.

What key is the main menu theme in?
Ded10c  [author] 4 May, 2016 @ 6:26am
Don't think I don't see what you're doing there, D.

sorry i meant the music hurts my eye but it sounds nicer than a porn soundtrack
Ded10c  [author] 28 Apr, 2016 @ 9:35am
It's a soundtrack. It doesn't have any colours. You don't have to look at the artwork if you don't want to.

i like this but the red colours hurt my eye

The new version has just uploaded. The Steam Workshop's turnaround on subscriptions isn't fantastic so give it a few days and see how it sounds.

The problem with a bandcamp release is that the rights aren't exclusively mine. The compositions were created by Matthew Simmonds and are owned by Rebellion Developments and since these are remixes at best I can claim credit for them but can't claim to own them. They are, however, on Soundcloud and YouTube, and I released a zip file on battlezone1.org for people to play around and create their own derivatives with.

Good spot on the sample and bitrates there. This mod was released during the beta and the music files have moved since then, looks like they were swapped out for better quality ones too. I'll upload matching ones shortly.

Anyway I like this mod you did a really good job of making the music. I should have said that in my first comment. And yes I have played the default and reorchestrated versions with foobar2000 and they both play fine but only default works in game. In fact I have already copied yours to my phone I like it so much. :) I don't know why that is the only thing I noticed is that the ogg seems to differ in bit rate somewhat to the default soundtrack.

Other than that great music mate you should release it on bandcamp. :)

As an acid test, try playing the files in a media player (a competent one - something like VLC or Foobar2000). If they play without skipping, then any problems you get are a result of the way the game handles them.
furyarc117 26 Apr, 2016 @ 5:22am
Just FYI I have had no problems with the default in game music
Knights 25 Apr, 2016 @ 10:56pm
Great work, well made...
Ded10c  [author] 25 Apr, 2016 @ 3:27pm
Those are all issues with the game I'm afraid, some global audio playback issues and others to do with how workshop content is loaded. I'm particularly at a loss to explain how the game ended up playing both at the same time, since this mod works by loading over the original soundtrack; in theory it is impossible for the game to read both sets of files at once.
furyarc117 25 Apr, 2016 @ 3:21pm
Very glitchy. Music sounds jittery in game when enabled and I've heard it being played at the same time as the default in game music. On main menu the custom music doesn't start until you start a game then return to main menu, if you go to instant action menu it returns to the default bz music.
Ded10c  [author] 24 Apr, 2016 @ 3:29am
We're working on doing just that.

Awesome! Any word on when we might see the BD campaign from RotBD in Redux? I never got the chance to play it and my last attempt to play it on an emulator ended....rather badly.

Blackdogs are the best

I tell ya ripping that stuff was a real pain. I also did a lot of ASM editing to create a USF file (Ultra64 Sound File) for as close to true playback as possible of the original.
Schwarzwälder 22 Apr, 2016 @ 10:14am
Well good on ya, thanks for high quality nostalgia (and the discovered unused tunes I never knew existed!)
Ded10c  [author] 22 Apr, 2016 @ 2:33am
They didn't remake the music, BD - I did. After we ripped the MIDI files from the ROM I reconstituted them into WAVs using the original samples, and made this version. I'll upload the original WAV versions at some point - they're of a higher quality than your rips because they didn't go through the N64's audio chip - but for now the whole lot can be found here [www.battlezone1.org].
Schwarzwälder 21 Apr, 2016 @ 8:28pm
No one told me they remade the music! I would have uploaded the original, but I can't for the life of me figure out the steam workshop

blackdogs soundtrack best soundtrack

I grew up on the N64 version of Battlezone. Not only am I extremely happy that this game got remade, but this mod is making the nostalgia even greater. Thank you so much!
Trovux 19 Apr, 2016 @ 8:19am
nice
