Also, check in console when you start up Synergy, scroll all the way to the top and look for the [SV]ContentLoader messages and make sure it lists where it is loading SourceMods from and if it lists Ep3 The Closure.
I did everything correct
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods using a directory link /d it will not mount sourcemods. But if you use a junction /j it will work.
I actually have my sourcemods linked elsewhere too. From:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods TO E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\sourcemods using a junction.
I have no much space left on C and steam use anothers disk on my system, all of theses mods installed are too big so i did two symlink and wanted ask devs if its problematic in case of errors or something else:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps TO D:\steam\SteamApps
AND
D:\steam\SteamApps\common\Synergy\synergy\custom TO D:\steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\17520
cl-host.d and sv-fmc.d and that is it
If it still doesn't work, try the Development branch of Synergy. Right click Synergy on Steam and go to properties, then under the Betas tab, click the drop-down menu and select "development -".
Then try it again.
You might want to wait for a sale, Ep1 and 2 were under $1 on multiple occasions.
The name of the folder in sourcemods played a big role. (i feel like im the dumbest person alive now
Thank you for your time
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\Halflife2-Episode3
Inside that folder there should be maps/models/materials and gameinfo.txt
You can also check in your console when you start up Synergy, scroll up to the top and try to find:
ContentLoader[SV]: Located SourceMods directory in 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods'
if it lists a different directory, you must move Ep3 The Closure to that directory, and it should also list:
ContentManager: Found SourceMod 'Leon's Episode 3' in '... etc
I will most likely make a guide on making Mod Support's at some point so people can start supporting more mods at the same time.
In the meantime, I could probably walk you through some things for it.
The workshop_srv.cfg goes in steamapps\common\Synergy\synergy\cfg
On each line you can put one Workshop ID. When you start up the server, it will automatically download/update the workshop addon for the server.
If you want to use it on Synergy 56.16 (current version), I can walk you through how to install it for dedicated servers if you want.
If you don't have workshop_srv.cfg, just create a new text document and rename it to that.
The content tag and first map is: "leonep3 01_spymap_ep3"
What exactly do I have to enter in the cfg file ? How would it look for adding multiple mods ?
Is the an example ?
ent_fire point_viewcontrol disable
and it should continue.
We’ve encountered a very annoying gamebreaking bug on the map 06B_SPYmap_Ep3. When you get outside for the first time, there’s a cutscene showing some combine soldiers being attacked and killed by ant-lions. They often survive the attack and just stand there, the cutscene gets stuck on that shot and never ends. The only way to proceed is to restart the map and even that doesn’t always help as the bug can occur again.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods
Subscribe to this addon, and then copy the folder "664873590" located in
Steam\steamapps\workshop\17520\content
to:
Steam\steamapps\Synergy\synergy\custom
Then, when you start up Synergy, you should be able to select the map "01_spymap_ep3" in create server.
If you want to use a dedicated server, you pretty much follow the same steps, except the paths will be different.
