PepperJack 4 Jun, 2022 @ 3:58pm

this is hardly vanilla, vanilla doesn't restore on crashes and it only works for the character save disconnect period(by default on a server its 15 minutes) after that its inventory deleted,
would still love to see this updated or the fixed version reuploaded,
Primelock 25 Jul, 2018 @ 12:42pm
Really? Since when?
Dead#Dark 25 Jul, 2018 @ 1:42am
This is Vanilla and no longer needed
VANINILLA KEEPS YOUR INVENTORY!
Grimard 8 Jul, 2018 @ 3:22pm

Teh_Bucket 16 Dec, 2017 @ 2:01pm
yeah seems to not function anymore
JoeTheAntiPro 19 Nov, 2017 @ 10:51am
i would really like it if this still works... does it? when a server restarts, cryo invenorties are lost
Freddz 21 Oct, 2017 @ 2:28am
So, is this working or not? Any difference between playerhosted and dedicated servers?
Cryptwalker 19 Sep, 2017 @ 7:26am
looks like it's not working on new worlds as of 9-19-017? update may have broke it.
Cypher 10 Sep, 2017 @ 6:09am
does this work with temporary servers?
Sarus 5 Sep, 2017 @ 9:04pm
yup.. cause cryo is not ALWAYS going to be there, or able to magically save you when 5th world issues happen, like crashes, internet loss, etc, bye bye all your elite tools and other stuff
Veevee 5 Sep, 2017 @ 8:30am
Why this isn't part of SE vanilla, but IS part of ME vanilla, has befuddled scientists for many centuries.
Sarus 25 Aug, 2017 @ 10:24am
is so badly needed on dedi server with friends :( always some form of crash or "SE has stopped working" that constantly causes inventory erase :steamsad:
Starving Poet 17 Aug, 2017 @ 12:07pm
This is broken as of today's update.
Dead#Dark 2 Jul, 2017 @ 12:11pm
Hi,
This Seems to Be working on Dedi Servers as of July 2017 BUT did not work on Local Hosted game.
Dampiir 2 Jun, 2017 @ 5:00pm
Is this still being worked on?
TIM 24 Apr, 2017 @ 9:04am
Not work ;(
[BR]SharkStrike 23 Mar, 2017 @ 10:23am
It would have some version to only restore in problems in the server, connection or client. That is, without saving in case of intentional exit of the player without being in the cryogenic.

I'm hosting game.

Friend loads in. Plays for a while.

ENDING 1: He saves and quits, I save and quit. Upon next load, he usually recieves his inventory, though sometimes there's a delay between 2-4 minutes, and sometimes it just straight up wont.

ENDING 2: Space Engineers Crashes. I load from autosave. He loads, and gets his inventory from way back at the beginning of the day (when we last properly saved and quit).

I remember this used to pull from autosaves, which is what made this so glorious. Still neat to see it load, but when he had 1000 steel plates in his inventory before, he ends up with 6000+ steel plates by the end of the day, and loses the 800 Thruster Components, (insert more items that are more important than steel plates here) he had before.

@Slye_Fox
If it stopped working entirely I might be able to figure it out if you can provide the server log.

@Snark
Okay, so you are hosting the game and when your friend stays on the server but you close the game or it crashes his inventory won't be saved correctly. The mod is designed to restore the inventory from the last save if the server shuts down or crashes so it would make sense that he experiences a rollback to the last inventory. Is this what you mean with duplicate or does he really get his old inventory twice?
The Hammerhead Snark 20 Feb, 2017 @ 4:49pm
Yeah, I think the issue we were having is the inventory only saves if *HE* leaves before I do. Which, when my computer crashes out, doesn't save his current inventory, then duplicates what he had from when he logged in the first time.

Or doesn't load his stuff at all.
Slye_Fox 20 Feb, 2017 @ 6:20am
It was definatly working a while ago, but lately, me and my friends don't have our inventory loaded when we rejoin.
Spacemarine  [author] 20 Feb, 2017 @ 6:19am
Weird. I just tested it on stable and it seemed to be working fine. :/
Slye_Fox 20 Feb, 2017 @ 6:18am
Stable
Spacemarine  [author] 20 Feb, 2017 @ 6:11am
Stable or Dev?
Slye_Fox 16 Feb, 2017 @ 7:50pm
Seems to have stopped working within the past week or so.
The Hammerhead Snark 10 Jan, 2017 @ 4:00pm
Okay, apparently it just started working on its own again, but it duplicated all of his items... Not that he's complaining :P
skYman 10 Jan, 2017 @ 6:08am
It saved my inventory once on our dedicated server (got the message in the chat as well) but no more after that one time. Nothing in the logs either.
Shroom 9 Jan, 2017 @ 4:58pm
For what it's worth, t's not working for me either. There's nothing noteworthy in the logs. It just doesn't save.
The Hammerhead Snark 8 Jan, 2017 @ 4:07pm
That's okay :) I don't mind if it doesn't work (And I don't quite know how to get/send logs). I just wanted to post out that it was having issues for me. I'll try reordering the mod list and seeing if that changes things.
Spacemarine  [author] 8 Jan, 2017 @ 3:52pm
Okay, then it's not working. If it worked it would automatically reload the inventory if it finds it and the inventory would be saved when the player leaves the server.
If you send me the log, I'll try to recreate the issue and fix it. But I can't promise that because other ppl had issues before and I could not track it down as I was not able to reproduce the bug. :/
The Hammerhead Snark 8 Jan, 2017 @ 1:56pm
@Spacemarine

Yep, I loaded the mod and had someone log out and back in with stuff in their inventory. They lost their stuff. Idk if there's speshul things that need to be done after?
Spacemarine  [author] 7 Jan, 2017 @ 4:28pm
Well, it doesn't pop up or anything. It just tells you when it loaded your inventory from a previous session after a couple of seconds. So you need at least to log out an log in again if you want to test if it works. :)
The Hammerhead Snark 7 Jan, 2017 @ 3:14pm
It apparently doesn't work on my server, just turned it on to test it and it didn't pop up. Not sure if something still needs to be turned on?
FluffyNinja 6 Jan, 2017 @ 5:22pm
Works for me just fine.
Spacemarine  [author] 6 Jan, 2017 @ 5:17pm
Just started and joined my testserver and it still seems to work... ^^
Shroom 6 Jan, 2017 @ 3:33pm
Is this mod working for anybody?
Spacemarine  [author] 6 Jan, 2017 @ 8:50am
I don't know how you'd define "work" in that case but the mod will restore the inventories from the last autosave so that items won't be duplicated after a crash.
FluffyNinja 5 Jan, 2017 @ 8:13pm
Does this also work if a server crashes while people are still in it?
Temar 24 Dec, 2016 @ 10:01am
I would also add a setting for it incase it's unwanted feature
Temar 24 Dec, 2016 @ 9:58am
Maybe when the player spawns as normal at 1 of the med bays. They get message saying to return to previous position do <command> this would make it optional and the command is only available for short time
Mike Loeven 20 Dec, 2016 @ 8:24am
Than you also have the issue with people doing stuff to you offline
Spacemarine  [author] 20 Dec, 2016 @ 7:35am
While I agree that ARK has a very good approach to this, I doubt that I can implement this easily with the current modding API.
Mike Loeven 20 Dec, 2016 @ 6:22am
You could always take a page from the ARK playbook and leave sleeping bodies ingame when someone loggs off. Only issue is that Body = Physics Object that never gets cleaned up. and Physics Object * hundreds = Simspeed issues
Spacemarine  [author] 20 Dec, 2016 @ 5:31am
There are certainly ways to improve the current system and if anyone wants to contribute, I could upload the code to GitHub. But at the moment I'm not motivated to work on a concept and to implement it later.
Mike Loeven 20 Dec, 2016 @ 5:05am
On the other hand you might be several hundred KM from your main ship in a small mining craft lacking a medbay when the server crashes and than you have no way to find out where your ship went So maby use a dialogue option asking if the player wants to risk it
