Would it be possible to mirror and rotate the skybox? (See Viper's comment 7 posts below)
Squeech 23 May, 2024 @ 4:59pm
happy to see this skybox! thx!
however i feel like it needs a lighter base color in order to see asteroids
and maybe an even larger resolution?

After more than an hour sorting out my plugins, I found that this mod affects how ore markers are shown on screen. I'm playing a server where uranium spawns on earth, and whenever I enable this plugin or the weather plugin I can't see uranium markers on spots where there is 100% uranium spawning.

I need 2 update dis mod, it keeps packing in it in "###_legacy.bin" format. TwT
I did unpack it, and dat broke the mod LUL. X3

How to unpack a legacy.bin file (only works for Space engineers content), rename the extension from BIN to ZIP. :3

Kumpel Kumplowski 26 Jun, 2023 @ 4:42am
Hi. Is it possible to change the brightness of the environment on planets closer to default? Its pitch black
Devlah 18 Jun, 2023 @ 8:09am
It appears this Skybox is causing critical errors on game load and cannot be loaded.
Viper 30 May, 2023 @ 11:27pm
I discovered that this amazing skybox is real, but it's displayed mirrored compared to real life. Once I realized it was a mirror image of our real life sky, I was able to find the Southern Cross and subsequently the celestial south pole. From there, I played around with the time offset and discovered that the sun track goes right through the celestial south pole.

So in conclusion, the skybox is mirrored but real and the sun circles the player in a north-south configuration rather than east-west like real life.

i need help, i installed this mod but even after disabling it the skybox is still unchanged, i'd like to return to the vanilla skybox but i dont know what to do please help

Fèru Or 5 Mar, 2020 @ 7:26pm
The image in the mod is inverse of the NASA files.

Works fine on my side, I just tested in a friends world created Local = OK
Vonafets1 25 Oct, 2019 @ 7:29am
Same here. Not working.
FunKenGruven 24 Oct, 2019 @ 9:22pm
This mod seems to have quit working since the update today...at least it did for me. I tried unloading and reloading but no dice...
Molten Carnage 23 Sep, 2019 @ 2:37pm
This skybox is missing wind variables in the SBC file
Planewalker 31 Jul, 2019 @ 11:53am
@Patchouli
I am fairly sure it's another mod; try deleting your shadercache.
C:\users\*yourname*\appdata\roaming\spaceengineers\shadercache\*delete files*

@ATT: Mod author!
If this skybox is still flipped, is it okay i fix it and reupload it??

cheers
Patchouli 21 Jul, 2019 @ 6:11am
breaks my savegame! planets are gone! they got deleted!
Planewalker 20 Jul, 2019 @ 9:11pm
IF nights on planets are too dark, use spotlights and lights; easy. =)

Flipping the image should be an easy fix.
karb 17 Apr, 2019 @ 7:30am
Immersive vista. I like how the night gets real dark.
C.DEF 31 Dec, 2018 @ 1:31pm
It overrid my Environment.sbc file. DO NOT RECOMMEND
C.DEF 31 Dec, 2018 @ 12:54pm
I do not have the mod enabled on my world, BUT THE SKYBOX IS STILL THERE!
Mykell 26 Nov, 2018 @ 7:57am
This is just downright beautiful. It makes the environment very realistic. And I couldn't tell one way or the other if something is flipped or not. I guess I'm an engineer, not a scientist. :) Thanks for this skybox.
Kaliroo 5 Nov, 2018 @ 12:00pm
I dont care if the map is flipped! A well done skybox & the ice lakes glitter if your using Doc's vanilla voxel mod. same lighting as Space just got real. WELL DONE! :):steamhappy:
pjaj 14 Oct, 2018 @ 1:29am
Very awesome mod, but a pity it's backwards. First thing I checked was the constellation Crux, and it's flipped... :/
TonyMax.Fr 9 Jul, 2018 @ 8:28am
Very beautifull but too dark for me too.
Stollie 24 Apr, 2018 @ 2:55am
I love this Skybox but it makes playing at night on planets in same ways well.. unplayable.

Too dark to fly around and try and have combat scenario's on planet, even with a bunch of spotlights since spotlights are not very strong in the first place.
Forsaken Chief 20 Apr, 2018 @ 2:57am
Easily my Favorite Skybox, perfect lighting! just real enough but not so dark that building is a pain.

Massive thumbs up. this is going on my Dedicated :D
Dat Newb 18 Feb, 2018 @ 11:12pm
Beautiful skybox, but I think it's inverted.
mattyou1985bba 9 Dec, 2017 @ 2:42am
i think this mod just broke my game has onley a pink Skybox .....granted i can see all my astroids but this aint right lol
vF 3 Oct, 2017 @ 5:09pm
Hello,

Is there a way to make it the stock Skybox? I want to join a server, but it's using the default skybox.
Thanks in advance
space_artist_4real 26 Feb, 2017 @ 2:54pm
It maybe a stupid question but will you incorporate ESA's Gaia data to make yet another skybox but this one being exact (maybe not with scietific accuracy but still extremely detailed)?

It could be the second time I ask I'm not sure.
SergeantShavedBalls 14 Feb, 2017 @ 4:16pm
someething is wrong with the sun texture now...
Gravemind 28 Nov, 2016 @ 5:13pm
I used to love this, but as of a few updates to the game, this skybox makes my game take in excess of 2 minutes to load an offline world. I narrowed it down to this mod, but I'm not sure why it's doing it now.
Gravemind 24 Sep, 2016 @ 1:35pm
This is stunning. Good job on this skybox, OP.
Anach 7 Sep, 2016 @ 1:31pm
@OMoo @Riz, Other than a texture, this mod alters Environment.sbc. The version in this mod either needs updating or removing from the mod. However, if you have another mod that overrides the Environment.sbc, and is updated, then load it after this mod, as it will override the broken Environment.sbc. ShieldKnight857 6 Aug, 2016 @ 4:38pm
@ Riz
I have your problem on the stable branch as well.
Riz 7 Jul, 2016 @ 7:10pm
On the dev branch, I've recently had issues where the sun is missing (really missing, not just not visible) if I start a world with this on. Any idea what's up with that?

my resolution is 1600X900 i s it good enough
K-I 5 Jun, 2016 @ 5:34am
nice....... thx for this brillant work
Joseph Sneed 10 May, 2016 @ 3:40pm
No one makes these anymore and the others and default skyboxes look really bad. Thanks for uploading this
Tye Dye Guy 9 May, 2016 @ 8:04pm
Yep Zacharys315, it's definitely your 2gb of VRAM, VRAM handles textures in games, and the more you have the higher resolutions and/or more textures you can handle.
TangerineSpaceRaptor 4 May, 2016 @ 5:50pm
I have 2 gigabytes of decicated ram for my video card nd my pc is meaning for gaming. If you mean the 2048 pixel version is the standard version, then i think so, but im unsure. Let me test it.
Darth Biomech  [author] 4 May, 2016 @ 5:28am
@Zacharys315
Have you tried to use standard res version? Maybe your videocard can't handle texture of such size?
TangerineSpaceRaptor 2 May, 2016 @ 3:22pm
Oh, and the flashlight or light sources dont help.
TangerineSpaceRaptor 2 May, 2016 @ 3:22pm
There is a glitch with this. When I use this, all the planets and blocks i place are PITCH BLACK from EVERY DIRECTION. Wham am I doing wrong?
Gandur 1 May, 2016 @ 7:24am
@humanist: If you want more realistic, try out this one: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=355768668
This is based on the source you mentioned ;)
Darth Biomech  [author] 1 May, 2016 @ 6:41am
I based intensity on the second source image, but I think dx11 in SE brightens texture additionally.
