BTW: I'm contacting everyone who make some maps for siege to contribute ..
If you know someone, or you are one of few! .. it's time to join starting train! we are ready for mappers now, all neccessary entities are ready. Just writting short mappers guideline to answer commonly asked questions.
Breakable windows (siegemod has breakable windows, after x amount of damage they dissapear,) i can provide different styles different windows if needs be so we have a good cache of assets.
You know what to do, i'll provide assets if needed :)
don't say a word about mappers. I'm still struggling with pathing mesh, but everything can be done with few well known tricks ... especially make planar maps, those elevator shaft like will not suit ns2.
I will get working on a conversion map from NS1 just for testing purposes(upscaled textures) we can test out ns2_stargate siege maps, we'll see how these work out :)
#1 NS1 Siege used vanilla gameplay but introduced front/siege doors and counters.
everything else was another mod on top of siege (like lerk-lift) because they can be used in vanilla too.
#2 Yes, because it will use vanilla gameplay from NS2 .. but still have doors and stuff related to them.

Regarding sounds .. they are right now there, but it will be perfect to have one of member from community to redord them ? its more personal :)
Mapping guilde will follows once it hits beta. There are several thinks to be done before it will be stabilized enought to create fully functional map which will last long. But you can start working on layout, and use "any" prop ... and I mean ANY prop as placeholder for doors (also you can scale and rotate it ass will, doors are planned to be entity with customizable prop model).
^With that said, despite many of the retards beliefs on the UWE forums and on here on steam workshop, you're able to use the assets aslong as you don't infringe upon it with profit or for another game, keep it in the HL/spark engines.

Unfortunately right now only one fully mapped, regular sized map, but we're working on next.
But for basic experience it's already suitable .. GL-HF

Right now it's just vanilla with siege mechanic according original Natural Selection mod (siege mod over NS mod oref HalfLife). The mod itself is written from scratch and if you find anything what is simmilar to your actual state of the ns2siege .. pelase report.
NOTE: I'm aware of using NS1 sound files for siege doors messages, but they will be replaced asap by custom records (actress is unfortunatelly ill right now :( )
