Hello. Does this mod affect other weapons mods?

Just found a way to change max weapon range. Go to your game folder Content > Data > Ammos.sbc it contains all shell types in the game and its properties. Then change MaxTrajectory of any shell to that which you desire. I set artillery to 50km and did some orbital bombardment works just fine

This mod and the 3x weapons range mod don't work any more

Just as a shout out I would love it if someone would plz make a working version of either this or the 3x range version
KnitePrince 20 Oct, 2019 @ 7:13pm
nope, 3x doesnt work either. Even restarted the game to try to get it to work. :(

Yeah im not sure this mod works anymore. Going to try a few last test runs to comfirm. The dream is dead, 3x is now the next best. :steamsad:

Is this mod working again?
SpaccyVA 3 Jun, 2017 @ 11:52pm
the main issue i can see is that if it's aiming for where they are at that moment then it's just gonna miss entirely until you about 2 km and in a good position
MagnusEffect 14 Dec, 2016 @ 3:02pm
the problem with this is that it gives players and significant advantage when fighting drones

Just you
McKinnal 1 Nov, 2016 @ 7:04pm
does this effect pirate turret range as well or just your own?
Vomsay 23 Sep, 2016 @ 2:19pm
Verry nice ! thx a lot!
King Maelstrom the Esoteric 18 May, 2016 @ 8:19pm
I noticed it while trying it with a bunch of other mods, so I took it into a game by itself, no other mods, and it was still the same.
Ducky  [author] 18 May, 2016 @ 4:55pm
Works fine on my machine, anyone can confirm?
Ducky  [author] 18 May, 2016 @ 4:49pm
It's normal for turret to range at 800 meter but the rocket exploding at vanilla range is weird.Lemme try it out
King Maelstrom the Esoteric 17 May, 2016 @ 7:41pm
I tried the mod, but it didn't do anything for me. Turrets don't target beyond 800 (and that's the max range you can set them to), and rockets explode at their usual max range.

"I dont see why this was not made before"
because for the longest time we were not able to modify the weapon ranges. :)

could you make a version where its only like 3 or 4x? 8 km is like youre getting hit without seeing them
Ducky  [author] 27 Apr, 2016 @ 4:38pm
I could increase turret detection range but since the turret aiming prediction isn't great, it would pretty much be worthless at shooting stuff and pretty good at wasting ammo.
Greyson XMG 27 Apr, 2016 @ 4:38pm
Sort of. A sniping ship will likey be holding still, making an easy target.
Greyson XMG 27 Apr, 2016 @ 4:33pm
Sniping with small ships has been possible for quite a while.

I was hoping for a turret that could look after my ships while I am off mining.

That way a guy couldn't just stand off about 1.5 km, with a bazooka and wreak my ships with impunity.

"I dont see why this was not made before"

well one problem is see is players can now just snipe pirate stations/ships without risking anything...

of course my engineers solution was just to fling a big ol chunk of scrap metal in their direction.
i called it bandit bowling.

landing gear a block of metal fly in their direction use a camera view for best aim and release it.
Ducky  [author] 27 Apr, 2016 @ 11:58am
@SSgt Oz

I know what you mean and i did some test and it's pretty much imposible to hit a moving target with gatling/missiles if they are further than 6km but what if anyone manage to pull it out then it's going to feel rawarding

Also i was thinking about stationarry base that can be easly destroyed by some missiles at 7km.It will remain an issue util we have a countermeasure mod...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Active_protection_system

So yeah this mod is pretty OP for anything stationarry so if you play in mp with this, you better hide your base inside an asteroid.
Ducky  [author] 27 Apr, 2016 @ 11:58am
Well it affect projectile travel distance and i could prolly include some patch for other weapon mods. But the problem with this is that some mods have weapon that shoot as far as vanilla weapon and some shoot at 5km and so on, putting a x10 on a 5km weapon is kinda crazy and unneccesary so i should prolly set the max range at 8km for all weapon and rename my mod someting like Weapon Range 8km

Once i have all weapon set to the same range, it will be a matter of second to rebalance the range.

Also it does not affect AI detect range, well for now...
Greyson XMG 27 Apr, 2016 @ 12:29am
Two more questions.

1. Does this affect targeting range? or just projectile travel distance?

And if it affects targeting range, can it be updated to change the range on other mods? Like this one?

I think that you should change the gatling range to only about 2km because the rounds do scatter when they get far enough away from the barrel so just change the range to 2km and for the missiles have them at 4 or 5kms just so you can have some time to doge them if you know they are coming. For the gat guns just leave them to 2km only because the scatter affect. well thats what i think anyway its up to you mate but still great mod.
Ducky  [author] 26 Apr, 2016 @ 9:08pm
Vanilla, but it might work with mod weapon if they use vanilla ammo.
Greyson XMG 26 Apr, 2016 @ 8:09pm
Is this ALL weapons? Or just the vanilla weapons?
