I'm pretty sure it will be the last update unless there are any major bugs or if it gets broken by a future Ark update.
In the upcoming update you will no longer set the color via the menu. Instead, you will paint region 1 whatever color you want the light to be. This means many more colors are available.
If I can make it work, the color change will happen when you click "dye item".
If not, it will change within 30 seconds of you painting it if painted at night. If painted during day, it will be that color when it gets dark.
Default color is white so when update hits, all your existing lights will turn to white.
You've now been informed.
Vas - They were never meant to be light "Sources", just accent lighting hence not being very bright. That being said, images are from very first version. They have changed brightness twice since then along with a new "high" setting that is considerably brighter.
Update will fix wall light not being interact-able, spot lights can be placed underwater and floodlights can be placed on floors.
Also, spotlights that were already placed need to be picked up & re-placed or they will be insanely bright.
These lights were never really intended to be used as a primary source of light, only for accent lighting at night which is why they are not very bright and only come on at night.
I will look into 1 more brightness setting though and I had already planned to eventually add some type of main control.
1) Stronger intensity (Up 2 more notches if possible). The light is a bit weak and when placed under a glass ceiling tile, it doesn't quite light up the floor (the glass ceiling is my floor for this idea)
2) Can the ground based lights be made placeable on top of ceiling panels?
3) An option to keep the light running all day? Or else set the trigger times from 8pm to 6am.
Thanks
Love the mod (especially the indoor lighting). Only problem i noticed with it is that the indoor lighting is pretty dim, even on the highest level of lighting. Any chance this is going to be improved?
Willow - The colors can only be set at night when the lights are on.
Updated with wall and roof lamps (temporary models for now)
Here are the mod id's i am running with it. And trust me, I do love your mods :)
GameMods 609380111, 531396658, 566885854, 566887000, 633215081, 510590313, 489596581, 670764308, 674342219.
juschrin2000 - Apparently that was an issue with the latest version of Ark and should be fixed now.
From Ark patch notes - "Unversioned Hotfix: Fixed Shader Crash that was occuring with some mods."
Many mods that have spotlights were having this issue
Everything saves like it is supposed to and I added a "Black" light as a spawn only item. It can be placed indoors or out, just not underwater.
"Black" light is a kinda cool effect I stumbled upon while setting up the sensitivity that does some crazy looking things. Hard to explain, stand next to one with no shirt and see the strange sparkling glow it produces on your body. Set some up in a big circle, throw in some strobes and you can have yourself a nice little rave party! (I haven't looked at dino's with it yet) Setting the color to Blue while the "Black" light is enabled looks coolest IMHO.
May work on an indoor set for next version
"strobe" setting with 3 speeds. .03 secs, .5 secs and 2 secs.
Strobe does NOT save yet but the color does save.
If the strobe is on at restart it will no longer flash after the restart and you will have to turn the strobe setting off then back on for it to strobe again.
Not exactly sure why it is not saving right now but will get it working eventually.
When you update, you will probably need to re-place your Spot lights because for some reason they have rotated 90 degrees.
The not saving part does lol! but the rest does not. There is no way you are getting an option to turn it on or off on these lights. That was removed from the menu and I also disabled the "Toggle Activation" setting for the lights.
That would be awesome!
