I'd be interested in seeing that! If you added all that stuff to a machine that's only 3 blocks, it's a unique design now. So feel free to add it to your robot shop! Please let me know so I can check it out. :steamhappy:
StardustLegend 7 May, 2016 @ 6:48pm
Simple but amazing! XD I actually changed your design a little and added a drill and more gears for easier turning and more power, but really awesome design!
Ross P.  [author] 6 May, 2016 @ 10:57pm
Thanks! The main reason I didn't add a grabber is because I was going for the absolute minimum block count. But also, the weight of it makes the machine tip forward, so it actually doesn't maneuver as well. The grabber does help in the Pine Lumber Site and the Diom Well , though.
cmyk_enny 6 May, 2016 @ 8:18pm
Add a grabber on the front and it's perfect.

My comment wasn't meant to be insulting, although looking back, I can see how you might take it that way. I just wanted you to reconsider your reason for downvoting me.

When I mentioned Draegast's request, I just thought of it as a way to start the description. It let me work a Futurama reference into my first video, and it might even get me a feature on a popular YouTube channel. The Futurama reference alone was worth it, so I went with it.

The video was meant to be the main focus. I spent hours beating zones over and over to record the fastest, cleanest zone completions I could. I arranged my schedule to record the voice work first thing in the morning, just to make the voice-over sound a little better. I even added a whole separate video, just to go from 22 zones completed to 23. Then there's the photoshop work.

I know none of this is hugely impressive, but I think it shows effort nonetheless. Even if you don't agree, can you see where I'm coming from?
Sav 5 May, 2016 @ 1:45pm
Welp, great, small, effective, u need a grabber on the front :papyrus:
Koi 5 May, 2016 @ 10:49am
I think he meant an increase of 33% from the original total. It's awesome that something so small can complete so many levels! Thumbs up!
Sapphire 4 May, 2016 @ 10:02pm
This seems based on the persons perspective on when they add it up. Granted, 100 -10% would be 90, then +10% would 99, but when adding a base to an already set number, shouldn't it increase based on the division after the sum is finalized? 3+1 would be 4, meaning a 25% increase in the final sum. The only way I could see 33% becoming the answer is if the percentage was calculated before the sum. So 3+33% would in fact be 3.99 (4 rounded). But considering I failed a math class because I do things the wrong way (8+8 to me is 10+10-4, not just 16). Anyways, don't want to clutter your comments section. Nice job on the build.
Ross P.  [author] 4 May, 2016 @ 9:17pm
I thought that at first, too. But to to get 4, you'd have to multiply 3 by 1.33, which is adding 33%.

This reminds me of an example of the equivocation fallacy that I saw a long time ago. I still remember it because I liked the sneaky mathematical sleight of hand involved. The person in the example claimed that since they cut your pay by 10%, then increased your pay by 10%, you were back where you started. But that wasn't true, since the percentages applied to different amounts.
Sapphire 4 May, 2016 @ 7:17pm
Wouldn't adding a camera increase the block count by 25%? Not 33?
Ross P.  [author] 4 May, 2016 @ 5:00pm
Sorry you don't like Draegast, but how I introduce my content has little to do with the content itself. I will give you props for at least admitting to downvoting me, but I think it would be more fair to rate me based on what I produced. If you look at what I made this machine do in the demo video, I think you'll appreciate the work that went into it.

Who gives a shit what some lame youtuber wants? Thumbs down for pandering.
Ross P.  [author] 4 May, 2016 @ 1:22pm
You probably have an earlier version of Besiege. The current version, 0.27, has 30 zones.
Sharkgoat 4 May, 2016 @ 1:16pm
i only have zones 1-15 wtf?
Ross P.  [author] 4 May, 2016 @ 1:05pm
The zone in the video thumbnail is the Grand Crystal (zone 21).
Sharkgoat 4 May, 2016 @ 12:57pm

@A Wizard Man I added a brace to the bottom of your machine to lower the center of mass. It took some trial and error, but I have a brace that's altered to give the lower center of mass, and stays attached to the machine.

If you copy/paste the text below just under the last block in the bsg file, it will add the brace to lower your center of mass. (Sorry I couldn't include the blank spaces in a comment, but the Besiege program will still be able to read the text.) Balancing will still be needed, but this should get you started in the right direction.

KamikazeKitaze 30 Apr, 2016 @ 6:49am
great machine thanks for featuring my bot :D
Shadé 30 Apr, 2016 @ 3:10am
...can't.. comprehend..
how did you came up with this idea.. three blocks is ridiculous
Drako🐉 30 Apr, 2016 @ 1:51am
you are the master of patience XD
Its a great idea indeed, and thanks to make one easiest to control haha
Next one a 2 blocks machine, one core block and one rocket backwards, in the correct angle, that will be able to push the core block forward to complete levels, with the help of "rotate the machine" default tool... :steammocking:
