I try to like Civ 6 but do not succeed. Constantly find me playing Civ 5 instead.
And now this mod here!

The corpses bleed a lot - but they wear red. And finally, they win. It is a lot of fun playing with the corpses.

How about adding some Love as the films were not only fighting and bullet time movies but also love films?

Suggestion:

Maybe some bullet infos about captured princesses in enemy cities?
When capturing such a city, an info message about freeing some girl?

And now the real love would start:

The "girl" would take a random amount of money (as woman are costly) and give back this amount (randomly multiplied) as science (as woman are smart)
and an info screen about that, of course.

@XanA.Dew, not difficult at all. Though, I've moved on from these mods, to the Civ 6 versions (out now, btw). So, you can feel free to write up the dawn of man text and everything, and it would just be one xml replace to get it into the game. If you end up publishing it to the workshop, I can add it to the Suer Civs Collection, too.

How difficult would changing the opening text be? If you like I'd love to write out a very over explained backstory of how deadpool built up a civilzation in the distant past.

@kzlork, I had thought about peace and war music for him, and those 2 songs in particular are pretty much the best/only ones for him. Problem is, I could get in some real trouble if I just start packaging the mp3s for those songs in my mod, it would be the equivalent of pirating or worse. I kind of doubt that anyone would come after me for it, but I really don't want the risk the legal troubles that comes with that. Sorry, but for now Deadpool doesn't have music.

@mikevarn, both, kind of. They gain experience and promotions as normal, but as the era increases, their BASE strength increases accordingly.

@mikevan, I assuem you mean the Deadpool Corps' unique promotions, let me know if you mean otherwise. They work just like regular promotions, and you can select them as you would a normal promotion on level up.

Sorry for such a basic question, but how are the special abilities activated? They do not appeaer immediatedly or automatically by waiting a turn. Is combat necessary?

@IDGCaptainRussia94, I honestly have no idea. I've set flavors and all sorts of stuff, but I haven't tested a whole game with a Deadpool AI. I'd like to modify the AI behaviors to use a lot of my civs' abilities, as I imagine a lot of them have abilities the AI won't know how to use. And that's gonna be even more of a problem as I make the civs I have planned, so I'll have to look into it very soon, if it is possible.

Because if the AI cannot use any of the special abilities it seems pointless.

@Thatch, mmmmmm, maybe try verifying your game cache? If you're trying to use multiple mods, try disabling some and seeing if one is causing a problem (and do let me know if it's mine). Beyond that and the standard kind of advice, maybe try enabling logging and see if anything appears in the logs when it crashes.

Right, everytime I try to play this mod the game just straight up freezes and I can't do anything. First time using mods so any fixes?

is this mod supposed to have music with it? when i turned it on and started playing it just played the menu music on repeat. i quit and reloaded the game and still only played the menu music

Siiiiigh. No. Frickin Deadpool and weird stuff with Civ 5. Pushin yet another change that fixes it, but now the artist, musician, and writer Corps will have the names of the base game Great Artists, Musicians, and Writers, instead of 'Deadpool Corps'. Not sure if there's a good way to make my own names for them, but at least for now this works. You can rename individual units I think, so if you want to keep track of which unit is of which type, that's your best bet for now.

@EMoney Yes, that is intended. Great General Corps don't even get the General combat bonus thing (but any Corps can take it as the Pancake Griddle promotion).

Also, as for the enlightenment era thing, that is unfortunate. But it is an easy fix, actually. I just added a fix that sets their strength in any pre-industrial (non-renaissance) eras, like Enlightnenment, to 30, and also sets strength in pre-ancient eras to 5, to support the also popular prehistoric era mods, and sets strength to 125 for any eras beyond future. Let me know if there are any other modded eras I should support.

Are all of the Deadpool Corps supposed to maintain the abilities of the GPs they replace? It seems that I can use a GP for tile improvement (like a manufactory, customs house, academy, citadel or holy site). However, except for the prophet (which does allow me to discover a religion), I can't use an engineer, scientist, or any of the arts GPs for a one-time boost. Is that the intended behavior for those units?

One other thing - I am playing with Enlightenment Period mod and it looks like the Deadpool Corps reverts to a strength of 10 once I enter Enlightenment. I haven't gotten to the Industrial Period yet to see if it pops back up. I know you can't account for every other mod but I thought I'd mention that.

I have enjoyed your super hero mods and was glad to see you added 4 more.

Fiexed. Thanks for bringing it up. Just a heads up to everyone, Great Prophets will still appear as regular Prophets in the city production menu and when they are spawned, but they will still be a Deadpool Corps. Those 2 cases are literally hardcoded into the game. It's super annoying, and short of replacing base game lua files, there's nothing I can do about it, but if I do replace files then it makes my mod potentially incompatible with other great mods that people use a lot more than mine (Cities in Development, in particular).

I played this mod and it's really fun, but I noticed one bug. I can purchase Deadpool Corps with Faith using other Civs.
