On the side of the workshop there's something that says "Add/Remove Required Items". You can add dependences under the associations tab in mod buddy (in the area where you edit your modinfo).

@TPangolin Great idea! :steamhappy:
How do you do it?! (Any example mods out there?) Thx
TPangolin 12 May, 2016 @ 8:53am
Hi there, I suggested this on the forum, but I'm going to suggest it here again. I think the best case scenario that you can do is to make sure that this mod is a dependency of the original Sri Lanka mod. You can also utilise the "Requires Other Items" function that you have available to you on the workshop.

If you use art, then this should be the precedent moving forward.

@Neirai Hi, I have actually discussing it with COF (see comments on LITE - Sri Lanka) for several months to no avail. And I've contacted you several times about some bugs/issues in The Inuit mod. I've lifted/modified your logic for the Awesome* civs I did - America, Brazil, Arabia and Russia. I'm trying to fix a bug in The Inuit logic right now)

FYI re: law: we release mods free. You don't profit. Nor do i. No loss. It's just a hobby. We share mods for the benefit of the Civ V community :steamfacepalm:

So why are you guys being litte biaatches actin like you Beyonce (but without the Lemonade!) :steammocking:

The original mod can be found here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=400353266
Please go download the real thing and support it.
If you have an issue with the way that a modder has portrayed a culture, or named a unit, it's appropriate to contact them privately instead of just reuploading a "fixed" version.

@ianadsue5 No idea.

@Almalexia Yeah, I have to determin wheather to knock the threat level down one. v.4 will get a UI (replacing the Vatadage) so there will be some rebalance with that release. And stop acting like I posted an illegal copy of Beyonce's Lemonade or Captain America's Civil War. Bitch please! LOL :steamfacepalm:

Haha, trust me, I've had no trouble earning the aggression from the AI in the past. Particularly on higher difficulties. Or if they happen to be Shaka, or the Huns, or any other militaristic faction. Point is, whatever the means of acquiring it, or when during the course of the game, it is a massive increase to your current military, which would instantly give you the means to topple any civilization on the map and then some. What I'm saying is while it is an interesting historical/cultural idea, it doesn't translate well into a game mechanic. Nor is it good form to upload content based from another person's work without their permission. Tinker around with it as much as you like for your own enjoyment, but when you post it online without permission that is a serious transgression in the modding community, among both creators and players. I'd encourage you to reconsider your course of action until something can be worked out between the two of you, in an amicable manner.
blkbutterfly  [author] 9 May, 2016 @ 4:58pm
@Almalexia Yeah, it may sound OP but it's harder than you think to agress the AI early on. Try it :steamhappy:
Almalexia 9 May, 2016 @ 4:51pm
And they are the Yodhaya units, regardless of era? I hope you see where I'm coming from when you get special units for free, which may be eras ahead of any competition, and you get ten of them all at once? Beyond the sudden cost of supporting all these units, that would absolutely steamroll anything in the Ancient, and well into the Classical Eras.
blkbutterfly  [author] 9 May, 2016 @ 4:48pm
@rider32 What's disrespectful (if not blatently racist) is when I told COF there is no such thing as "Balata" in Sri Lanka, did he listen? Nope.

I speak/read/write Sinhala. There's "Bala" or "Bata". Not Balata. Never heard of it in my life.

Now they're just being killjoys. Nobody has to share civ/mods they develop. I just want to share a civ with other Sri Lankans who might like to play a Sri Lanka that isn't inaccurate, wrong, half assed and contrived :steamfacepalm:
blkbutterfly  [author] 9 May, 2016 @ 4:41pm
@Almalexia Yes, you get 10 units when the AI turn aggressive (but before they declare war)
Almalexia 9 May, 2016 @ 2:59pm
Wait, you get ten whole units whenever a civilization declares war? Did I read that right, or...?
|dvh| 9 May, 2016 @ 12:07pm
I doubt anybody would have objections to that.
blkbutterfly  [author] 9 May, 2016 @ 12:03pm
Ok, I will eventually change all the artwork and UUs. But right now I move apt in 3 weeks and have to pack & organise that. Then summer holidays.

How about changing it to the Sinhala Empire under King Dutugamnu? Though I might get trolled by Tamils cos he's responsible for defeating The Cholas (i.e the Tamils) and uniting Sri Lanka. Dasa Maha Yodhayo is during his era ~BC.
|dvh| 9 May, 2016 @ 10:56am
I never said this is piracy. If you're a law student, you should probably try paying attention to what people are actually saying.
blkbutterfly  [author] 9 May, 2016 @ 10:41am
@[dvh] COF one author (not of the artwork) is being a bit of jerk.

I'm a law student so I laugh when you say this is "piracy". It's not the same as ripping a movie or downloading music illegally, which you would o/w pay for. These mods are free. There is a thing called karma :steammocking:
|dvh| 9 May, 2016 @ 8:11am
You're not being asked to contact them on every conceivable forums and social media. Just the one where you're the most likely to get a response.
blkbutterfly  [author] 9 May, 2016 @ 8:06am
@[dvh] The last time I logged onto civfanatics was in 2008.

I've messeged all of the team here on steam. I don't have time to try contacting them on every concievable forum and social media :steammocking:
|dvh| 9 May, 2016 @ 7:52am
You should remove this mod and ask the original creators on CivFanatics.
blkbutterfly  [author] 9 May, 2016 @ 7:50am
@Silverfish9 I wanted to show them the finished product. COF the original author of LITE - Sri Lanka was very defensive. I'm prepared to remove the artwork if they say no :steammocking:

Music, Lua, much of the XML are all new. I stripped out the support the LITE team added for various other mods. So it's just the artwork which belongs to Leugi and Regalman.
Silverfishv9 9 May, 2016 @ 7:44am
well if you don't do that they'll never accept you as friends, without their permission you're pretty much pirating their hard work :/
blkbutterfly  [author] 9 May, 2016 @ 7:42am
@Silverfishv9 I should make it private, but then I don't know how to share it easily with them. (I've sent them Friend reqs.) As I'm a relative newbie, practically nobody sees my posts.
Silverfishv9 9 May, 2016 @ 7:40am
Then why post this? You should do that first before using somebody's work :/
blkbutterfly  [author] 9 May, 2016 @ 7:39am
@Silverfish9 I'm trying to contact them
Silverfishv9 9 May, 2016 @ 7:38am
are you allowed to post this? did you get permission from the LITE team?
blkbutterfly  [author] 9 May, 2016 @ 7:11am
The UA (for this first version). Dasa Maha Vodhayo (Ten Warriors). It's from Sri Lankan history/lore :steamhappy:
Omen 9 May, 2016 @ 7:09am
So what did you change?
