Axe is called "Axe" because he has an axe. Not a hammer. His name would be hammer if he had hammer. And also, everytime axe moves, attacks or you click him, he says something with axe, so this hammer would also need a new sounds. BUT if this was for someone who has hammer, then it would be awesome.
