Updated for 2.2 (As mentioned earlier, this mod will work no mather the version number, but updating it for people who dont like to see the big red ! )

I will probably have it updated monday. It is however fully functional, its only the version number that needs updating, so even if it says its out of date, there will be no issues with it.

Ok. I have now tested it extensly with the Star Trek mod. (they can now be used at the same time), re-saved all map images just to be sure, and tested it for some time before re-uploading. If it dont work now, I am afraid the issue must be on your end, since I cant think of anything else it might be. I would suggest un & re.subscribing to make sure you get the newest file. if it still dont work, add me on steam, and I will try to figure it out.

I tried disabling everything except SMAC (which was only Star Trek Flags and Expanded Colors), and creating a new game, but it still doesn't show up on the map. Take a look at my screenshots if you want to see what I'm seeing. In the in-game flags menu, it shows up at the top as SMAC, and everything looks great there.
Looking into the zip file and comparing it to Star Trek Flags, I don't see anything obviously wrong. Perhaps there's something with the DDS settings (quality or whatever) that doesn't make it work on my system. Any chance you can compare to Star Trek Flags?

Also, what is the ingame folder name for my mod ? It should say SMAC, and not NON_Specified or something of that kind.

I looked into it. It is because of the star trek mod I think, as the file there overwrites everyting that is related to flagpacks. Would you mind trying to disable that, and chceking if it works ?

I'm actually not seeing these on the Galaxy Map at all. Neither when the AI uses it, nor when I use it. To be clear, I'm talking about the white icon above the empire name in the territorial area. The Star Trek Flags mod shows fine, so I wonder if some files are missing?

Oh, before I forget, I am not entirely sure this is savegame compatible.
The way PdX uses it files, makes sure that if it cant be found, it get replaced by a placeholder or a standard colour. There is not much I can do about that sadly.

I cant for the life of me find any reason why it would not spawn A.I map files. I have however reworked a few of them, and upleaded a new version to the Workshop. The A.I will no longer spawn randomly with the symbols, but you can create a custom empire and force them to be included in the game. You can also get them to spawn randomly by going to the modfolder and change the line in the "USAGE.txt from "random = no" to "random = yes" (without the brackets)

I am not sure of the names are for the symbols. I tried it on 3 different saved games and the AI picked different symblols and none show up on the galaxy map. The only other symblos mods I have are a Star Trek, Star Wars and a Stargate ones.

Weird, the AI should not pick these symbols unless you changed the text files in the mod directory. Anyway I tested and it works here, so there might be another mod that influences it? (it should not, exept if anyone has chosen the same filenames as me. Could you tell me what logo it was, so I can take another look and check that everything is ok ?

Should not be to hard, I have not really taken a look at portrait modding, but as long as it is static portraits, it should be pretty straightforward.

Also, seeing the factions written down like that really makes me wonder what it would take to mod the portraits from SMAC into Stellaris. It'd definitely require quite a bit of Photoshop magic given the difference in resolution, but it would probably be doable.. I've been looking for a way to excercise my Photoshop muscles, so I'm thinking of giving that a try sometime soon..
