Please Update for v2.2.4
Mechataur 16 Oct, 2016 @ 5:00pm
Love the mod, but would you be willing to try and make Asari type ships for the mod. Because Euderion on Deviant Art has created models for an entire fleet made up of different classes. He says people are free to use the models as long as he is credited. If I could I would help but I'm no good at modding. Keep up the good work. AussieMate 5 Jun, 2016 @ 5:47pm
Any word on an update for 1.1? or more species added?
Astrono7 30 May, 2016 @ 8:06am
lots of species/ factions present. just need drell, hanar, volus, vorcha, batarians, quarians, and geth, and you have the entire Mass Effect Universe species list, excluding those giant trash talking space machines.
PacboyA1 26 May, 2016 @ 4:03am
It is Ironmode Compitable?
Animaxe 25 May, 2016 @ 7:04am
Can do we remove the obligation to see appear species mod when you start a game? Because I modified species and these are duplicated!
Cyzer 25 May, 2016 @ 2:24am
would you kindly to make more faces?
TheConeezeanEmperor 22 May, 2016 @ 1:25pm
You should do the migrant fleet and the quarians, i have no idea why someone has not done it already.
alextherus 22 May, 2016 @ 9:40am
The mod doesn't appear in the MODS list from the launcher. Any ideas how to fix it?
William 21 May, 2016 @ 12:34pm
Well, I love you for making this. One little request: Can we get more heads? :D And skin colors?
Ludovin 20 May, 2016 @ 2:18pm
TOG: Only those on Illium are materialistic. Illium is their Noveria, a sort of safe haven for corporations. Besides Illium, they're no more materialistic than any race within the Mass Effect universe. Mass Effect humans, though? Definitely considered Materialistic. Very western influenced space society, individualists and all that.
Poppadop 20 May, 2016 @ 9:46am
Materialist would also make it hard to get psionics, and what good are Asari without their biotics equivalent?
Bookbuster 20 May, 2016 @ 7:25am
Hmm.... should be materialist - in the game they're pretty damn capitalistic - and use direct democracy. Also, another negative trait other than weak would be nice, as they're from a planet that has higher gravity than earth, so no reason why they'd be physically weaker than humans.
Yoshy's Island  [author] 19 May, 2016 @ 5:00pm
@Das Comrade - I weighted the city state status and matriach guidance heavily.
@Peter - no, but the psionic squadrons should be renamed biotic squadrons if everything worked correctly.
Aha 19 May, 2016 @ 4:32pm
Do the Asari have an affinity for psionics?
James009 19 May, 2016 @ 1:49pm
@Das Comrade
Or just do a hard edit on the race file.

Looks good! Might want to add a bit more phenotype variety though (ie. colors).
Baby Yoda [FekU] 19 May, 2016 @ 7:31am
The Asari have e-democracy. In Stellaris, "Direct Democracy" is its closest equivalent, but in order to get that, you need the materialist trait.
Oracle of Thessia 18 May, 2016 @ 11:53am
Patiently awaiting the update to 1.0.3 :)
Aquarius 18 May, 2016 @ 8:55am
Your fix works like a charm. All the names are displayed correctly. :)
Aquarius 18 May, 2016 @ 6:39am
Sure, I'll check if your fix works after work. :)

Is there some kind of special guide or something you're using to make your mods? I'm interested in making a mod of my own but I'm totally new to this. Maybe you can recommend something?
wtb update for the client update :(
Yoshy's Island  [author] 17 May, 2016 @ 4:01pm
@Aquarius I see what you mean, and made the changes myself. Let me know if I missed anything. :)
Yoshy's Island  [author] 17 May, 2016 @ 1:49pm
@aquarius thanks for your help. I'm more than happy to implement your changes if you could upload to google drive or where ever and give me a link I'll check out your changes. 😀
Aquarius 17 May, 2016 @ 12:44pm
I changed the structure of the ### CHARACTERS section and removed the unnecessary male/female setup. It's much simpler now.

Since I don't know much about modding I just checked how other single-gender-species name lists coded that section. I have no idea what caused the strange name bug but the new setup fixed the problem. Now all the characters have their name displayed properly.
Shanor 17 May, 2016 @ 12:31pm
@Aquarius
Could you please elaborate on your second fix? I hope author wont mind you sharing solution ^_^
Aquarius 17 May, 2016 @ 8:31am
If the mod creator gives permission, I could upload a fixed version somewhere where the mod creator wishes me to (albeit with an edited name list because I adjusted this to my personal taste; well, I could put the original name pool back if the mod creator wants me to).

There are 2 issues I fixed:

1. The issue TeRRaZLO pointed out here in the comments section about the portrait in the race creation menu not displaying properly (there was only an empty square).

2. There is an issue that some characters have no name while others do (blank space). So I cleaned up the character section in the name list.

If the mod creator doesn't want me to upload this then I won't of course. :)
Wrightt48 17 May, 2016 @ 2:29am
When you get the time to fix this could you post in the comments here? Also just wondering are you planning on doing any more Mass Effect species? I like how your ones are animated, while others seem not to be.
Aquarius 15 May, 2016 @ 2:34am
I don't think this has got something to do with using notepad++ since the quick fix I posted works fine. I didn't change any files or something, just re-created the mod by myself with the launcher's "Mod tools".
QtheMuse 15 May, 2016 @ 1:58am
Actually the older form of Asari Government the governemtn picked works better i think since according to the wiki All aspects of policy are open to plebiscite at any time. In any given debate, the asari tend to lend the most credence to the opinions of any Matriarchs present, nearly always deferring to the experience of these millennia-old "wise women". So you could just say that these matriachs are their spiritual leaders.
NightHawke 14 May, 2016 @ 11:39pm
i do see the mod in my mod list but it just doesnt add the race or portrait =/
Arkiasis 14 May, 2016 @ 11:20pm
Technically the Asari should be a direct democracy. They have no politcans or leaders other than their Councilor on the Citadel. However, that would require materialist as a ethos.
Yoshy's Island  [author] 14 May, 2016 @ 3:49pm
Hey guys, I see lots of reports of this mod just flat out not appearing in-game for people. I have a feeling it may have to do with switching to notepad++ half way through the making of. My plan is to take my work on the Salarian Union and rework for the Asari -- since that mod seems to work for people. This, hopefully, will fix it. I also plan on coming back to this mod with XNA Lara so I can bring in some Asari clothing instead of using Mammalian generic. I'm kind of busy at uni though, so it might take a few days. Depends on how much time I'm willing to spend on this via procrastination instead of assignments. :p
Aquarius 14 May, 2016 @ 3:43pm
Quick fix: install manually

1. Go to Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\workshop\content\281990\683742371 (not sure if the numbers are always the same, just find the mod file in the content folder) and make a backup of the asariRepublics mod rar
2. Open launcher
3. Click on "Mods" tab, then "Mod tools" on the top right, then "Create Mod"
4. Name the mod as you see fit (for example AsariRepublics) pick a tag, then click on "Create Mod"
5. Go to Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod\AsariRepublics (or whatever you named the mod in the "Mod tools")
6. Extract the rar (asariRepublics) in that folder
7. Enable mod in launcher
8. Enjoy this awesome mod
NightHawke 14 May, 2016 @ 2:40pm
any1 got it to work yet?
lamaking65 14 May, 2016 @ 2:32pm
It might be that you put the Asari in their own category instead of adding them to an existing one like mammalian, I know a few mods seem to have an issue where their portraits won't appear because of that.
CC Johnson 14 May, 2016 @ 12:53pm
Salarian Union works fine, but this doesnt show for me, too...
Anu Trance 14 May, 2016 @ 10:16am
not for me to :/
Phiber Optik 14 May, 2016 @ 6:12am
Isn't showing up for me neither :(
Wrightt48 14 May, 2016 @ 5:48am
Doesn't show up for me sadly.
TeRRaZLO 14 May, 2016 @ 5:36am
@LarasFreezer - sorry, I've never uploaded anything for the workshop..
Aquarius 14 May, 2016 @ 1:13am
Sadly this mod doesn't work for me. It's enabled, but no content shows up (unlike other mods like the color mod).
Yoshy's Island  [author] 13 May, 2016 @ 11:18pm
@terrazlo -- any idea how to get the launcher to stop telling me my mod doesn't exist on steam? I don't want to create yet another workshop file.
Yoshy's Island  [author] 13 May, 2016 @ 10:59pm
@terrazlo -- thankyou so much!
TeRRaZLO 13 May, 2016 @ 7:50pm
I have found an error in your mod :)
in file Common\species_classes\01_asari.txt it should be portraits = { "asari_portraits" }, instead of just "asari", as it is specified in gfx\portraits\portraits\asari_portraits.txt
That way, it will show the correct portrait in race creation menu, instead of empty square.
Great mod anyways. Waiting for the updates :)
Jawa 13 May, 2016 @ 4:23pm
Doesn't it? Hm... I did update my own mod with the hot-fix. Will have to check again.
Yoshy's Island  [author] 13 May, 2016 @ 4:19pm
@ Imperium -- the system's bugged, doesn't allow to replace old file after the latest hotfix.
