RIP i think the mod author passed away
Soon-to-be-paid Democracy Intern 2 Jun, 2019 @ 12:41pm
He will most likely not update it, as his account has been offline for two years and last update was in 2016. Your time is better spent trying your luck elsewhere.
Dramatic_Wolf 22 Feb, 2019 @ 6:41am
Im really looking forward to seeing what you come up with dude, best of luck
OssoBuco 9 Dec, 2018 @ 3:17am
will you update it for the 2.2 patch?
Lord of the Hold 15 May, 2018 @ 4:21pm
be very intrigued to see how this could develop after all the changes in 2.0
WolvesofZiu 15 May, 2018 @ 3:23pm

Just tried it, didn't work for me.
RobotWaifuForU 22 Sep, 2017 @ 2:28pm
has this been updated for 1.8?
Fresh 30 Aug, 2017 @ 1:46pm
has this been updated for 1.6?
Short King Pokey 13 Aug, 2017 @ 10:10pm
I liked ground combat as an afterthough; the extra logistics of towing transports and waiting on the damn things to FTL is a pain in the ass.
DinoManDerek 17 May, 2017 @ 7:55pm
anyone got a temp (or permanent if the creator has left) solution to the war policy bug?
Sp00n.exe 14 May, 2017 @ 12:15pm
How do you fix a save that has been irreversibly broken by this mod? Disabling it crashes your save.
Ventessel  [author] 27 Apr, 2017 @ 4:07am
I don't necessarily have plans to work on this mod further, since until Paradox fixes the glaring day zero bug of invading armies not suffering morale damage there isn't much aside from flavor/fluff that can be added to ground combat. However, I will remove the file overwrites for war policy so that compatibility is improved. Are there any other issues people currently using the mod are seeing?
Bronk Hotblast 23 Apr, 2017 @ 11:06pm
This is an excellent mod. Please update and fix.
0berstKlink 9 Apr, 2017 @ 10:52am
bad link for Paradox forums? Trying to find out if this mods would be functional after new Utopia patch
Neske 11 Mar, 2017 @ 4:51am
do to the fact that you can't scrol through attachments you may not see or even get to use some of the attachments
Grishyy 22 Feb, 2017 @ 7:45am
This mod breaks War Philosophy, making it unable to cede planets or vassalize, thus making it impossible to actually remove empires and win a game.

If there's no fix for this coming, then I urge other people to avoid this mod.
{C.S.A} Misfit_1995 9 Feb, 2017 @ 8:28am
your mod overwrites the war policy file and sets it back to War Economy, you cant cede planets if you have the mod installed, please fix it.
PinkTarget 24 Jan, 2017 @ 9:26pm
Other cool things to add is to add events to the combat to make it more interesting. Like an attempt to sabatage but it can backfire or stuff like that
Bronk Hotblast 5 Jan, 2017 @ 5:45pm
Update please?
Angelis Mortis 9 Nov, 2016 @ 3:39am
Great mod. Needs to be updated it screws up war philosophy. Doesn't allow you to demand planets.
shuulleech 31 Oct, 2016 @ 3:45am
@Ventessel Thanks a lot!
Maybe if you are interest we can collaborate? If yes please contact me, I have sent friend request to you (though I know how time can be a limiting factor for such things).

You have credits :)
Ventessel  [author] 31 Oct, 2016 @ 3:22am
Feel free to use any files in other mods, just credit anything you borrow. I have been very busy of late with work, but did have a chance to play Stellaris the other week with Heinlein and will update to v1.3 as soon as time permits.
Jack Hood 30 Oct, 2016 @ 1:36am
You should update the mod to be heinlein compatable! :D I love this mod :D
shuulleech 28 Oct, 2016 @ 11:31am
Hello, I see this mod was not updated to 1.3.
Do you plan an update? If no, may I ask your permission to use some of your files for my GC balance mod? specifically bombarmdent altering files?
Good Ol' Been 29 Aug, 2016 @ 1:47pm
Folks, i had that problem, but simply delete the mod, (unsubscribe for now) and go to the paradox forums and download that version. Alternatively, you could go to the forums, download that, and edit the .mod to display a different name such as Prepare v2, so that you can have it active without messing with the workshop version.
KaleQueen123 29 Aug, 2016 @ 11:42am
can confirm this mod disables war philosophy
WolvesofZiu 28 Aug, 2016 @ 1:35am
disables war philosphy making you unable to demand planets in war
Kazeck 26 Aug, 2016 @ 3:47pm
I just want to say I love this mod. Really adds more variety and interest to ground activities.
ThorOfAsgard 25 Aug, 2016 @ 6:39am
How does this effect the Ai, such as does the ai use the various new armies and does the ai take into account the increase need when assualting your planets?
Good Ol' Been 24 Aug, 2016 @ 5:23pm
Well, apparently this was due to me not deleting the workshop file after subscribing, my bad. I thought it did that automatically. So disregard my previous statement.
Good Ol' Been 24 Aug, 2016 @ 12:37am
Using the Version from the paradox forums, i notice that War philosophy is replaced with War Economy, which prevents me, and likely anyone from declaring cede province/vassalization wars.
James009 23 Aug, 2016 @ 6:00pm
Can you bring back something to replace the Neo-Concrete Fortifications that takes their place, reduces upkeep, and increases defenses? Also, seeing quite a few missing graphics.

I'm liking the mod so far.
elhran 22 Aug, 2016 @ 3:12pm
Thank you....
Ventessel  [author] 22 Aug, 2016 @ 2:11pm
I posted the updated version to the Stellaris forum thread for the mod, it will be available there until I resolve the issue with updating via the game launcher.
Dipluz 22 Aug, 2016 @ 5:51am
Hi, are you going to update the mod for 1.25?
It works with 1.25, though the red !.
I love this mod.
elhran 21 Aug, 2016 @ 3:47pm
Thanks for all the work...you'll get it uploaded when you when get it uploaded...no hurry...
Ventessel  [author] 21 Aug, 2016 @ 3:22pm
Attempting to upload the mod, but throwing a Steam error. I had to reconstruct the '.mod' file and I suspect this is the source of the problem.
ThorOfAsgard 21 Aug, 2016 @ 10:33am
v @wliew, no shit this has been the whole tread
Wliew 20 Aug, 2016 @ 6:42pm
Your mod change the war philosophy policy to war economy. I am sorry
elhran 18 Aug, 2016 @ 1:29pm
...thanks for your work, by the way.
elhran 18 Aug, 2016 @ 1:28pm

Ventessel  [author] 18 Aug, 2016 @ 12:57pm
Have installed Stellaris on a new machine, mod will be updated Sunday, 21 August.

Goals for the update are just to clean out the broken folders and add new events/opinion modifiers to get the values where I wanted them.
BelShock 17 Aug, 2016 @ 5:06am
Ok the solution is quite easy (at least it worked for me)

1.Find your original 00_policies.txt. It should be in ...\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Stellaris\common\policies

2. Open it and look for the "War Philosophy" part. It should be the first one.

3. Now you have to find the modded 00_policies files.
One of them is located in the same Steam directory ...SteamLibrary/steamapps/workshop/content/........./ground_assault.zip/common/policies
The other is located in
c:\Users\Your name\Documents\Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/workshop/content/...../ground_assault.zip/common/policies/
In theese 2 files look for the "War economy" part and REPLACE them with the "War philosophy" part from the first file.

I hope it will work for you as well.
GameMaster 6 Aug, 2016 @ 9:40pm
@Ventessel: Thank you for your status update. Makes me feel a whole lot easier. :)
Ventessel  [author] 6 Aug, 2016 @ 7:15pm
@mal Feel free to include this in a compilation, for now deleting the events/policies folders will have to do. Unfortunately I don't currently have a computer that can run Stellaris, so I'm not able to update this. I can share the code on github, and try to do some workarounds but won't be able to test them.

Hopefully by the end of August I should have a computer again and will be able to update this. If not, I will find a way to upload a newer version before the month is out.

Also like to see more expensive vehicles that can change the field of war by being heavy hitters (more then soldiers) with buffs that affects the army. Like on offense, high damage aircraft fighters causing that boost morality due to being death from above, and have weak health and moral due to being easy to shoot down. Tanks/armored divisions being meaty vehicles that buff health as they are design to adsorb enemy fire at the cost of offensive power (compared to vehicles). And Piloted Mechs provide good all around and boost damage being design to break through enemies lines to cause chaos. On defense, artillery to destroy large chunks of enemies, interceptors (fighters) to harass the enemy, and guardians (defensive piloted mechs) design to hold the line. Just a thought if your going to expand the military, by increasing the diversity of said forces as you don't have to rely on a fleet to rule/defend the galaxy.
