Nice idea, but a bit buggy. I had sort of the same idea. I started making one like this, but then I decided to do it in Hammer instead. I ended up using actual the DooM level and textures. You might like to try it here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=73647515
