still works, at least for me, make sure you install Moddable Ruler Turns as well.
Chotato 9 Apr, 2021 @ 11:11pm
Can we get an update please? None of the ruler turn mods have been updated and I cannot continue playing with cheating enemies
luis 5 May, 2020 @ 1:36am
not working for me either
UK_John 9 Nov, 2019 @ 7:29am
doesn't work.
Juravis 2 Sep, 2019 @ 11:11am
Needs a little update, rulers that take damage get a reaction turn. The rest works correctly (if you fire and miss or move it wont react).
Stream1917 9 Dec, 2018 @ 12:57am
Ill join the crowd and ask if this is WoTC ready? Or if you will be releasing a WoTC version? :)
Veritas1980 29 Nov, 2018 @ 11:02pm
This mod doesn't seem to be working. I am trying to turn off ruler actions because they are gambreaking BS.
Remember Trampe ツ 28 Oct, 2017 @ 1:16pm
Is this mod WotC ready ? :)
Sgt. Larson 15 Sep, 2017 @ 6:28am
@robojumper Can you please make this mod Wotc compatible? :)
Xeonzs 10 Sep, 2017 @ 2:18pm
@Snowkeeper yes that does exist:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=860556301
It gives them still a 100% chance to react on offensive actions
50% on defensive actions
0% on peaceful actions.
masterranger 2 Sep, 2017 @ 5:16pm
Oh THANK WHAT EVER DIETIES ARE LISTENING for this mod. I'm getting wrect by the bersker queen.
Snowskeeper 2 Sep, 2017 @ 3:03pm
Sentinel, that's not true. Taking ANY action still triggers a ruler reaction. Just lost an entire squad of captains because the Berserker Queen reacted to movement by destroying all cover within range and stunning everyone, which, in turn, allowed a squad of ADVENT infantry to kill them all. That felt like bullshit, which is the reason I'm installing this.

That said, I'd prefer it if there was a way to make their reactions only trigger on aggressive actions; does that exist, or?
I'm done. 2 Sep, 2017 @ 1:25pm
On my end both Moddable Ruler Turns and this mod worked fine on WotC. I tested it vs Viper King got no strange issues. Not sure if it actually need to be updated in the WotC SDK.
Auville 2 Sep, 2017 @ 7:53am
@=(FGR)=Sentinel Ok thanks, I was too worried about getting destroyed by the beserker queen to try Wotc with alien rulers installed
=(FGR)=Sentinel 2 Sep, 2017 @ 6:20am
The game devs apparently toned down the rulers so their reaction turns so that only offensive actions taken within a ruler's sight range trigger the reaction turns CHromOs0mh0S, so in theory a good sniper with Long Watch would make isolating a ruler, surrounding it with your soldiers, and putting them on overwatch a valid tactic now, so long as the ruler doesn't see the soldiers that take offensive actions. Combining a Shadowed Reaper or individually concealed ranger and a decent marksman also makes WotC rulers trivial since the ruler can't attack the Reaper since it doesn't know they're there and it doesn't know where the sniper is, so it can't even get a reaction turn.
Auville 31 Aug, 2017 @ 12:23pm
Any chance you could port this to War of the chosen?

How do i download this ? never used steam workshop and theres no option to dl ( Tried workshop downloader ) it says "the game this item belongs to doesn`t allow downloading etc " Any help please ?
Jun 21 May, 2017 @ 2:45am
The frost bomb seems to freeze the rulers indefinitely.
Juravis 3 Mar, 2017 @ 2:02pm
If you put ALIEN_RULER_ACTION_BONUS_APPLY_CHANCE=0 does it make the mod series obsolete to turn off reactions completely?
Krookaking 20 Feb, 2017 @ 7:43am
it doesn't seem to work, ruler reaction still activates for me
BootsyFarnsworth 30 Jan, 2017 @ 9:56am
It works great. Thanks Robojumper!
robojumper  [author] 24 Jan, 2017 @ 1:59pm
@Hidoi
No. They have like a 20% chance of doing ruler actions in addition to two AP per turn in LW2.
Hidoi 24 Jan, 2017 @ 1:50pm
Does this work with Long War 2?
Gragnack 8 Jan, 2017 @ 1:49pm
Oh thank you so much for making this
HebaruSan 8 Dec, 2016 @ 12:51am
You made XCOM great again!
Gaming_squid 4 Dec, 2016 @ 6:40am
Yeah. So in mid Ruler fight I saved and installed it expecting it to suddenly work mid fight.
I restarted the mission but it's working now.
robojumper  [author] 4 Dec, 2016 @ 12:43am
@Tentacle strangulation [squid]
You did install the required mod, right?
Gaming_squid 4 Dec, 2016 @ 12:09am
Doesn't work
Juan Perez de la Rosa 28 Nov, 2016 @ 7:52pm
You saved my life.

I got the viper queen before I even had magentic weapons or 5 squadmen. Most I had was the nano vest.
WrenchInTheGears 23 Oct, 2016 @ 8:24pm
ive been looking around the nexus and steam workshop for a mod that only disables the RR's on non-violent actions. There is a mod elsewhere that is a download-and-modify kinda deal, but i never had much luck with them or copy/paste mods, as useually, it either A, breaks my game, or B, doesnt work at all. if A occurs, purging game data doesnt really work.. so i would rather avoid having to mess with my game files directly. This is why i prefer nexus and workshop. so, if you or someone else could have the rulers only react to violent actions, i would greatly apreciate it.
2257tempest 9 Aug, 2016 @ 1:53am
can you make one that stops them from running
Goontrooper 16 Jul, 2016 @ 6:16pm
I think I got it working. I turned it off, finished the mission, then turned it back on. Next time I ran into the Ruler, he seemed to behave properly, taking normal turns but no extra reaction turns. I guess it was caused because I enabled the mod during a mission. Thanks for the help and for the mod!
Goontrooper 16 Jul, 2016 @ 3:45pm
Thanks for the really fast response. I just tried to unsub, resub and no luck. The Ruler not only does not react to my actions, but does not take a normal turn of any kind, let alone 3 turns.
Goontrooper 16 Jul, 2016 @ 3:38pm
I don't think so, I'm just running a bunch of cosmetic DLC, other than this. I'll try it and see...maybe the subscribe order is off?
robojumper  [author] 16 Jul, 2016 @ 3:36pm
@Goontrooper
Unsubscribe and resubscribe from both Mods.
Do you have any other mods installed that might alter ruler behaviour?
Goontrooper 16 Jul, 2016 @ 3:30pm
So I struggled through the first 2 Rulers, but when I hit the 3rd (Same mission I ended up dealing with my first Avatar) I had enough. Got really tried of having them taking a turn for things as simple as me hitting 'overwatch.' However, with these two mods installed, the Ruler is actually not taking any turns! I was looking for a more balanced challenge that doesn't break the flow of TBS as badly, but now I just have a sitting duck. I have the Moddale Ruler Turns installed as well. Any idea what the issue is? Thanks!
robojumper  [author] 10 Jul, 2016 @ 10:40am
@DerBK
I have no experience with BehaviourTrees, and would rather put my efforts on other mods. If you do it, drop a comment and I'll link to it from here and the base mod.
DerBK 10 Jul, 2016 @ 10:33am
@robojumper:
In ABA, i have something i call the "mini-ruler" system. Enemies that have it will get extra actions whenever they are damaged.

Basically, i trigger the effects GrantActionPoints and RunBehaviorTree on a Listener for UnitTakeEffectDamage. Simple and elegant solution that can be used for some neat stuff.

Maybe giving something similar to the Alien Hunter rulers would be a good compromise between neutering them completely and keeping them unchecked?
Kunovega 6 Jul, 2016 @ 4:05am
@trooper leave the narrative on for the DLC and don't do the mission until you are ready to face the rulers (or skip it and dont ever trigger them). you shouldnt have to quit compaigns over the kings showing up. just don't do their mission and let them out until you are ready (if ever)
robojumper  [author] 5 Jul, 2016 @ 8:17am
@Unskilled
Can too in this one - twice a turn :P, but less turns overall.
Unskilled 5 Jul, 2016 @ 8:11am
Had to download this mod after I learned the hard way that the Viper King can spam bind until one your units are dead.
2Scribble 20 Jun, 2016 @ 1:07am
Now this makes sense - the Sectopods in the later part of the game have two turns and on higher difficulties they can fuck your shit up. These guy's having three turns makes them just as dangerous - if not MORE dangerous - while still being reasonable. Legendary is hard enough without Advent/The Aliens cheating :P
alexbali25 14 Jun, 2016 @ 8:31am
@Raid
bruh they have enough health as it is, but this mod MAKES THE 10 EUROS SPENT WORTH IT!!!
Trooper 10 Jun, 2016 @ 6:49pm
I've only met the Viper King, but the idea of fighting rulers stresses me. I constantly cancel campaigns over it. I'm going to try this mod with the escaped rulers regen health mod by Reality Machina. If that doesn't work I might consider unintstalling the DLC. Thanks for the mod robojumper!
Thedeejnylv76 3 Jun, 2016 @ 2:04am
Kudos to the mod author for being so gracious to the suggestions offered. You sir, are a gentleman.

Scarface One 20 May, 2016 @ 7:48pm
THANK YOU!! I'm so tired of them bending the rules so my laser and predator armored squads starts dying by the ADVENT truck loads. You have a better brain then the actual developers. I think that the Rulers should have had this: A three action turn, better weapons, lots of health and some armor, and a special ability only they can use.
Juravis 18 May, 2016 @ 9:32am
You can give rulers more perks, extra HP and armor. Anyone with the "this is too easy" isnt relevant. Don't use this mod as a standalone fix.
MrShadow 17 May, 2016 @ 5:43pm
I want to try this mod but is there any way you could maybe do a video of your mod in action so we can see how the 3 actions a round works for the rulers?
robojumper  [author] 17 May, 2016 @ 2:41pm
Hell, no. Feel free to make your own mod that gives alien rulers more hp, I'll happily put a recommendation out there if the mods are compatible.
