This had me wracking my brain. Such an elegant solution. I love these minimalistic puzzles!
DarkCloud 14 Jan, 2021 @ 11:26am
One of my favourites. Thanks.

After encountering the first map from Gigopler in the No Elements collection - straight away favorite-d author (along side Mevious and Azorae). The few maps from Gig in that collection really stood out. This is my first map in Gig's collection and it really shows his creative use of mechanics

Yep, cool map. Definitely a head-scratcher.

Walkthrough for anyone that can't past that "WTF" moment: https://youtu.be/8VQOHu_bz6E

No, it's called "cube juggling."
MmmmmmhHHHhhhhhhmmmm 20 Jul, 2018 @ 7:20am
I think this one's tricky if you're not already familiar with the concept used for the final solution. Very neat map though.

Hint, or even an outright solution for some: "hovering" cube

Damn, thanks :)

This is a test chamber masterpiece - elegantly minimal with a small number of rooms/distinct spaces & interactive elements and really clever use of vertical oscillation and momentum to position a cube into seemingly impossible spots , and although it relies on a player's sense of timing , it is not too difficult in that regard. In my early days, I might have gotten stumped and looked for help online, but I've learned to expect subtlety and intelligence from Maestro Gigopler and instead I embraced the challenge and looked carefully at everything provided in the map - such as a portable floor surface in the exit room, which is what provided the solution inspiration . This took me an hour to solve as I'm no doubt not as bright as most, but the joy of the Aha! moment was so, so satisfying! (I needed a cigarette afterwards and I don't even smoke! just kidding)
Thank you for these terrific creations!

Nice cube/portal manipulation puzzle. I enjoyed it.
bullfrog 28 Feb, 2018 @ 10:34am
Excellent puzzle. Took me 3 attempts to get it right, but that's just me :)
DarkCloud 21 Jan, 2018 @ 4:49am
Thanks for the chamber. Beautiful, simplistic design. There's just one thing I found odd: If you swap the laser and the catcher, the laser would be in the same room as its button and the catcher in the same room as the door it's opening. That would make things even clearer and neater. But maybe you were going for a loop aesthetic or I'm just missing something. Never mind. Great work.
turboszkita 10 Feb, 2017 @ 3:49am
How to pass the level , because idk?
qrioso 11 Jan, 2017 @ 9:26am
Very good. A couple of tecniques/concepts needed. Thanks
Chron 6 Sep, 2016 @ 9:58pm
Oh wow, thanks man!
zigzagtenniscoe 6 Sep, 2016 @ 8:09pm
Everyone!!! I found the song! Its called "Space Phase". It's the song that plays after you beat the game when you're at the start menu again. I knew it sounded familiar! So for anyone wondering that's the amazing song played throughout this chamber. I just decided to look up the whole amount of songs in Portal 2 and I found that one and I was like yeahh that gotta be the same song played here.. and it was :) So ya
zigzagtenniscoe 4 Sep, 2016 @ 2:21pm
Ok, thanks for pointing me in the right direction anyway. Have a nice day! :)
Gigo  [author] 4 Sep, 2016 @ 1:56pm
I don't actually know what the music is for this map, you'd have to ask That Greek Guy
zigzagtenniscoe 4 Sep, 2016 @ 1:29pm
BTW, I echo @chroncile's post. I would realllllly appreciate if you told us the music for this one.
zigzagtenniscoe 4 Sep, 2016 @ 1:28pm
Minimilist and simple, yet fun and clever. Just how I like it. Took me around 5 minutes. Difficulty easy-intermediate (note this is somewhat because of someone spoiling one of the key things on the "Simplistic" comments section and not using spoiler tags. So it didn't take me long to find out what I had to do and what the portalable floor in the exit room was for. )
Cube sacrifice is a neat concept, not uncommon for great mapmakers like you to use though. Cube oscillation, as the person on the "Simplistic" thread called it, I've only seen used a few times. Great job with this map, beautifully logical, no trick moves needed. Thanks for this and keep up the good work :)
jandlml 14 Mar, 2016 @ 7:26pm
haha i finally did the right move on my own. i always forget. nice puzzle
Chron 25 Jan, 2016 @ 6:52pm
I love the music in this one, what is it called?
Petutski 13 Jan, 2016 @ 8:38am
Elegant solution! How to have a cube in two places at once... sort of. Great map!
dven1 8 Oct, 2015 @ 1:14pm
I had to give up on this one. I read the procedure given in these comments but couldn't make heads or tails of it. I was able to get the cube on the button in the second (third?) room but that's as far as I got.
James 6 May, 2015 @ 8:54am
Probably one of the best puzzles I've played. Appears so simple but really makes you think.
mikemoody 11 Apr, 2015 @ 9:19am
Yeap that was a good brain test. Took me a while to figure that one out. Thanks a lot.
wildgoosespeeder 28 Dec, 2014 @ 5:36pm
Much easier than Simplistic. Really tests your knowledge on sacrificing cubes and cube momentum tricks, like infinifalling cubes and floor portal cube juggling . Well done!
stormsend 28 Oct, 2014 @ 1:03pm
Seems so simple once you've solved it. Very nice design. Thanks.
Gigo  [author] 25 May, 2014 @ 2:24am
I didn't take the concept from anyone else, I just thought of it while making the puzzle.
bobdugan_2000 24 May, 2014 @ 4:50pm
Liked it. The old oscillate the cube through floor portals trick. Not sure who discovered that one, maybe you Gig (?), but well executed here. Thanks!
Ale 31 Oct, 2013 @ 7:44am
Great design in little space! I found a similiar concept in Mathey2009's Logic (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=76072757) , which is however posterior to this. One question: Did you add new music in this chamber?
kimist108 29 Jun, 2013 @ 2:56pm
Nice
AgentFire 31 Mar, 2013 @ 7:53am
Beautiful solution.
marnikema 17 Feb, 2013 @ 1:09pm
had to deal with this one to solve compartment advanced, wich are both great puzzles. definitly mevious quality!!
madvtdm 4 Jan, 2013 @ 5:40am
Amazing. I was stuck on getting the cube into the box so got help.... wouldn't have thought of that one but now it seems so obvious and I feel so dumb.
gaden002 8 Nov, 2012 @ 10:53am
Very sneaky. As usual, once you see the solution, it seems simple.
Innocentive 29 Oct, 2012 @ 2:13pm
A beautiful puzzle! I particularly liked the last part that was about getting the cube on the button. I think it would be more difficult if the entire exit area was portalable. That wouldn't influence the puzzle itself, if I'm not mistaken. The way it is that single portalable floor tile was kind of a give away...
The Sojourner 21 Oct, 2012 @ 9:53am
This is a most interesting puzzle of cube movement AND portal conservation! Extremely elegant (and so is your 3x3x3 version)!

I found I was missing that one small piece of the puzzle, so it's no surprise that it's a brain buster.
NiclO (- - ) 12 Oct, 2012 @ 4:53pm
I failed this map. After too many tries my frustration got too intense so I cheated. I nailed the 1st part but the "maneuver" for the 2nd part was not in my tool box.
Dale Cooper 27 Sep, 2012 @ 7:19am
First i got the cube on the butten (with momentum while i stood on the button) then i made a portal in the first room and in the last room. after pressing the button, I placed the portal in the third room on the floor and dashed the cube into it from the other side and now i only had to placed the first room portal quickly behind the gittering so the cube falls on the button. and the rest is easy^^
Gigo  [author] 26 Sep, 2012 @ 1:30pm
How did you solve it?
Dale Cooper 26 Sep, 2012 @ 11:06am

I expected something more interesting than that solution... Still a like
Loveless 10 Sep, 2012 @ 12:31pm
A great puzzle and a beautiful chamber. Definitely one of the top maps I've played. I wish there were more like you.
NightHawk8P 25 Aug, 2012 @ 7:22pm
Wow that destroyed my brain but I got it!
Mr Vapour Waterhandle 2 Aug, 2012 @ 8:15am
really requires thinking with portals, awesome map
jyjeyz 28 Jun, 2012 @ 4:15am
I feel clever after finishing every your puzzle lol. nice one btw
astonostosson 17 Jun, 2012 @ 9:16am
Very nice and difficult puzzle! Clean design too, which is a big plus. This is the kind of stuff I like.
Voldepreuss 21 May, 2012 @ 10:18am
Great challenge. How do you come up with these ideas? This chamber really feels polished and minimized to the essential puzzle. Great design.
d3adly_canuck 19 May, 2012 @ 6:58pm
That was absolutely brilliant. No words, no words.
esmo 19 May, 2012 @ 2:12am
clever, first time for me using that technique! this map should be more popular. cheers & thanks.
