crashes on load 3 seconds after seerver start when moving

For some reason even on its own with no other mods it alway's crashes for no reason. :steamsalty:

How this mod is different from Astros and Shared Islands
1. You craft a Bell enstead of look for them
2. there are 6 homes with wooden floors
3. does not use sanity to teleport

Until I complete this mod, it will remain overpowred. I already have a nicely typed to-do list above. this is just an early version.

This is a Mod so i dont plan on making it less overpowered. The purpose of my mods is to give the edge to the players. I understand what you are saying but that is not the direction I wanted to take with this mod. The turret isnt for creatures its for intruders. There is a lot to be done with this mod and I dont understand why referencing other diffrent mods is helpful to this mod. You are suggesting people use these other mods for other purposes. This mod was not meant to be like those mods, so you comparing them is redundant. I appreciate your input, and check out some of my other stuff. what people choose to do with this mod is on them, but i see it useless making a mod this is just suppose to be an extension of the original game. What you are looking for is a DLC not a mod. I am modifying the game not extending its features or capablities.

Let's begin with the tower
1.Since this mod is based on the Astro one it should be clear that monsters do NOT spawn inside the island, nor giants or hounds; the only ones that effectively spawn inside, if you are low on sanity, are the shadow creatures which the eye turret DOESN'T attack. Everyone will just hammer it down for the deerclop eye or for rebuild it elsewhere. Even if, like you said, place walls instead of the turret it's still useless since the shadow creatures can just pass through.
2.The lanterns just don't work for a permanent illumination since after a short while they will burn out. Even if are just gonna use them when you are on the island at night at this point a single fire pit is enough for the job. So it's basically another 2 free items

Bump for Sans' question. Could it be possible to be able to somehowingly 'teleport' others to your base?

I have an idea, where the player would be able to build a structure (house) and for only the OWNER(S) to be able to 'enter' the home. When the home is entered, it shortly teleports you to the island. (Being able to modify ownership/adding additional owners)

I'm not sure if this would be possible but I would definitely appreciate a mod like this, I just don't know how to make mods, haha. :)
I love the personal islands, and personal homes even more, I just dislike how the islands you teleport to a random location after getting off the island.

if you try to pick up another bell, one will drop out of your inventory and one will stay, preventing you from having multiple houses

you can only hold one bell in your inventory at a time. once you make a bell, it would also make the islands, then assign the island id and bell id to be equal to the player id, is what you suggest? i think thats possible, but it was refresh the world and im not sure how to access player ids

What if 1 player gathers more than one bell? He/she gets multiple island homes? Also while i was thinking about that, couldn't you make the Bell/Island ID based on players game ID that Klei uses? This prevents 1 player from accessing multiple islands and should perhaps solve some other problems? (Bell could be craftable and when it's crafted, player ID gets assigned to 1 island and that's it. Or when the bell is picked up from the world, ID gets bound to 1 island only, even if multiple bells are crafted/picked up)

that is what is done in personal islands, you cant craft those bells becasue each bell has a diffrent id, if you debugspawn a bell, by default, the id is 0 and you just tp all over the map. never to an island. this crafts a bell prefab that i scripted the id. the only way i can think of automatically making a bell assing an id after crafting is a PushEvent

Can't this be automated? I haven't looked at the code yet, but i think it's possible to make a "base" island and generate things on it by random and the ID's for bells can be generated automatically as well for each island.

what makes this mod and that mod different is that the bells spawn when the islands are made. each bell is unique to the island it was made with. What i did was custom generate islands and assigned the bells individual to each island. this is so that the bells can be crafted. i would have to make over 300 bell prefabs to access the different islands

If this mod is based on the Personal Islands mod or Shared Islands then it shouldn't crash the server, makes no sense, why does it crash the server? I have 99 islands on Overworld and in Caves, no crashes (server is over 7000 days old, 15min per game day). I'm planning to override the world size on next server reset and have over 200 islands per each server, worked fine on my test server.

yeah, future mods will have more house options, such as house, mansions, etc. too many homes will crash the server. Im thinking a max of 32 different homes

So only 6 houses? This means the first 6 players that can craft the bell in a fresh server can get the houses, but all other players can't who join in later?
