It was broken whether I left it alone, supported, and or suppressed. The materialist faction numbers just keeps growing when it should't be. Never had this issues in older non 4.0 versions. It is happening in other alien systems as well, materialist party becoming the top faction. I look forward to seeing what I person working on the mod has to say. Is it a base game issue that we are stuck with or can it be fixed in the future.

@Carre,
I've given the information as best I can, and seeing as that's all I'm able to provide of this, that's what you guys're going to use and deal with. There are no screen-shots, nor ability to provide them, they simply do not exist, nor would the 'files' for the errors... they simply happen as I've laid out.
jamcarmody 7 hours ago
@Russ; I absolutely have been trying to put the suggestions into play... none of what I've said is nonsense, however.
In truth, the discord there is utterly worthless, due to the immaturity of the discord moderators, as has been directly shown, time and again.

Yeah, Shysilenthonor, that *is* kind of what happens when party suppression is carried out; you see: you by that kind of increased their legitimacy.
What you did with that that produced that is a kind of political low-blow; instead of say a propaganda campaign, which may've worked, you attempted to use the state as the means; and it broke down your operation, as does tend to happen in the real world.
Tis most likely not a bug, but a detail of psychology that somehow entered gameplay politics *inside* the game.

Found something strange with the factions while playing United Earth going for the Federation. My first play playthrough when I got to the 2nd election for President a materialist candidate won. I checked the factions page and saw that the materialist had majority support. I wanted to get my former President back so I did all the options to support his party and even suppressed the materialist party. Their party numbers still kept growing and the other parties kept shrinking. Trying a 2nd run and having the same result with materialist party growing and not matching the numbers given on the factions break down per planet with what numbers show when looking at the pops on each planet. Hope this is a bug that can be fixed if it is one.

@jamcarmody - other members of the team have tried to help you. And their suggestions around the settings.txt file have worked for many people. I have no idea if you have tried to take the friendly help offered, because your responses are increasingly lengthy non-sense. If English isn’t your native language then perhaps try your language of choice and one of the team will translate. What you are typing makes very little sense.

As it stands, you are not following the help offered, if you want a discussion come join our discord, but if you are not willing or prepared to listen then please step away from this chat as you are interfering with my ability to pick up issues from players who want to report issues and that’s not fair on them. Enough is enough now.

@jamcarmody it have been explain to the best of our abitities and we tried to help you best we can

@Svenious Jakobus (GB),
RAM can definitely be a huge issue, but more confusing by far is how the settings.txt could be bad, and hence the source of the problem, and if we're to reinstall that part, say by verifying the integrity of game files.
@Cutter Slade, what do you mean by a "Vanilla Issue"? I really am not sufficiently familiar with that term at the present moment.
I also wonder if that could be related to the game simply refusing to function when you're trying to even get to the "new game/load game" function near the beginning as well, as that *seems* to be the primary issue.
jamcarmody 14 hours ago
In the meantime, just so I'm more clear, and likely others, what do you mean by "Vanilla glitch" about a problem, and would I not have to reinstall the settings.txt if that's what I'd have to delete for the game to work?
How does that even work that the settings.txt is the problem, and wouldn't that really foul up the whole game for just about everybody come to think of it? Seems that if so, there's a really bad programming error somewhere in there if that's what has been going on... so yeah, I'm baffled alright.
jamcarmody 14 hours ago
I believe you, G-Man, but even when RAM easily exceeds as available 32 Gigs, it still tends to have the same effect as it turns out, or simply just plain sits there and stops responding... odd stuff like that.
jamcarmody 14 hours ago
Oh, don't worry, pgames-food; I have been rather repeatedly trying all manner of these, and I definitely shall.
I have to admit, iniitially, for about two or so days post the update to 4.0.21 with this, the game in question worked fine, and then it simply refused to work- that's the issue I've been having.
Now about this, when making the Federation, I recall in there somewhere that the choices you make may make your country both xenophobic and paranoid, well, in the Star Trek novels, check with S'task's people, "Those who March Beneath the Raptor's Wing" being their other common nickname, they sure did wind up kind of that way- the reason: getting your people kidnapped and roughed up by aliens will tend to do that alright- or worse stuff.... of course it can develop.
I really like the touches of this, and believe me, I shall go for your other earlier advice.

whenever I start as United Earth or United Nations of Earth, before I start I got the message that I've been defeated. Is it even possible to play as Earth before forming a Federation?
Bahamut 17 Jul @ 8:14pm
as the borg at the start of the game there are 4 things it starts making first contact with that just stop mid way and wont finish at all and the event tab in going mental telling me something happening every day from now till i finish and i mean everyday so it never stops and theres no way to turn them off so after awhile of that the game starts to lag badly but if i cant make first contact i also cant declare war meaning i cant assimilate them at all
Orion88 FIN  [author] 17 Jul @ 5:56am
@Bahamut No it does not need the DLCs. They just add little things here and there. Check out the mod's FAQ here in Discussions for more info.
Orion88 FIN  [author] 17 Jul @ 5:54am
For the game crashing when pressing new game delete your settings.txt, which can normally be located from something like:
C:\Users\yourpcname\Documents\Paraodox Interactive\Stellaris\settings.txt
like Cutter Slade stated below.

@danbrad87 Did you do both the murder investigation event and the Mars uprising?
Bahamut 17 Jul @ 5:08am
does it need all dlc
tilarium 17 Jul @ 4:51am
There are a couple of ways. Ace scum back to a save before the events kicked off and hope for better dice rolls. Go into the mods folder and alter the event file to edit out the bad results.

I played as united earth and every game it changed to terra prime every time. How do I get avoid this

Why can I access the main menu, but when I click on "New Game", the game crashes.
tilarium 15 Jul @ 1:31pm
@Hades AI Translation? Like, translate it into binary?
Hades 15 Jul @ 1:12pm
plis add AI Translation
noctislupus 14 Jul @ 9:31pm
Anyone having the game really start slowing down at the 2170's and onward, slowing to where they can see the ships actively stuttering in warp by the mid 2180s, even with no minors spawned in and a normal map size. 32gb ram, 4050 laptop graphics card, no other mods active.
archlovescats 14 Jul @ 9:02pm
Probably.
Orion88 FIN  [author] 14 Jul @ 12:47pm
@Svenious Jakobus (GB) on my system if I run out of memory/storage space it will indeed crash both New Horizons and Steam client as well. + If I have something like web browser open that too will become unresponsive.

@archlovescats Nice to hear that you have been able to run the mod indeed with only 8 gigs of RAM, although I suspect that when New Horizons runs it will reserve quite a bit of free storage space too?

As on my system at least during the initial mod load it will use most of my 16 gigs of RAM + in addition also reserves space from my main Windows drive. Which is why would personally recommend at least 16 gigs of RAM AND + 10 gigs of free space on your Windows drive if you want the mod to run in default dx11 mode.
pgames-food 13 Jul @ 9:33pm
hi @jam, maybe the vanilla issue was the main bug after all but dont forget to try the advice i gave you back in 7th july
archlovescats 13 Jul @ 6:24pm
I have 8 GB of RAM and 86.9 GB of storage space free. the load time is abysmal but the mod runs fine for me.
Cutter Slade  [author] 13 Jul @ 5:58am
@Svenious Jakobus (GB)

there's also a vanilla issue going around , when clicking "new game" the game would crash.
to fix this: delete the "settings.txt" file and restart the game

You could also join our discord and post the "error.log" after the crash.
Svenious Jakobus (GB) 13 Jul @ 2:03am
Rams not the issue it seems to be crashing steam client for some reason

minimum requirement is 16GB of RAM for STNH. recommend is 32GB.
This always was a big issue, since years,
jamcarmody 12 Jul @ 7:35pm
I only have this particular mod active in the launcher, Cutter Slade.
I'm playing a game from 4.0.21, but this kind of kicking out has been going on for a while.
RAM is at least 8 Gigs, it is not the problem.
Cutter Slade  [author] 12 Jul @ 9:02am
@jamcarmody

- which mods do you have activated in the launcher?

- are you playing an old savegame from the last 3.14 version on STNH 4.0.21?

- again, how much RAM do you have? 16gb?32gb?
jamcarmody 12 Jul @ 8:28am
I mean, there're times it works, times it fails completely to work, and it seems to be *specifically* this game, other things seem to work fine, and if it was insufficient RAM, that'd be every single tme.
jamcarmody 12 Jul @ 8:27am
RAM is not the problem, @Cutter Slade.
jamcarmody 12 Jul @ 8:26am
To be more clear on my own part, Grayhorse, I'd set it up to save to the cloud, but it didn't read as doing that, and for the longest time, whenever the same sort of things were done, by me, to fix problems such as associated to the game updating, the older games that were like this were no longer available- now this one suddenly *was*.
I'm not angry as such, but fully baffled by this turn of events. And *way* more into *what happened and why* as a goal to understand than anything and everything else combined.
This's kind of a "Isn't it odd?" situation as to what happened than anything else. So I pitched it to you guys.
@Cutter Slade; sorry for not answering before now, but my machine has easily enough RAM for this. The machine has at least 8 Gigs of RAM *free*.
jamcarmody 11 Jul @ 6:04pm
No, they weren't registered to the cloud; you see: it seems as though my cloud storage is full... this's weird, not offensive, but darn odd to put it mildly, Grayhorse.
That's not the error message I've been receiving, it is more like the old "program (such and such) has encountered an error and needs to close" type of older style messages that were so annoying in days past.
Grayhorse 11 Jul @ 5:33pm
Jam, if the old save files are loading, did you by any chance go into the cloud files and remove the saves there? You should be able to do that manually. I was more thinking you were getting an error message along the lines of F.0000000001z etc. So if its not that, its definitely not a driver issue.
Cutter Slade  [author] 11 Jul @ 4:18pm
@jamcarmody
how much RAM does your PC have?
jamcarmody 11 Jul @ 3:24pm
A LOT of the messages are the game has stopped responding, Gayhorse, for what it is worth.
jamcarmody 11 Jul @ 3:24pm
What types of messages am I getting? Well, Grayhorse; mostly it is that the game's failed and paradox needs to close, those old types.
Why or how is something that's beyond me, as well as, get this: you know how usually if you delete your stellaris game files and then uninstall and reinstall the game, the old games don't show up as playable? Well, oddest thing happened: one or a few post entering version 4.0.21 *did*... I'm not angry at all, but well and thoroughly baffled by this.
Grayhorse 11 Jul @ 1:11pm
What type of messages are you getting? Are they game related or possibly related to video card issues? Not saying your video card is bad, but possibly an issue with the mod and your current installed graphic card level.
jamcarmody 11 Jul @ 12:59pm
I wish I knew, I wish I knew for the life of me, then I wouldn't have to be reporting these kinds of things and could self-solve them.
jamcarmody 11 Jul @ 12:58pm
Yeah, Greyhorse; I have been having error messages; for what it is worth, I'm simply just plain not sure... but when this works: BOY DOES IT WORK!
jamcarmody 11 Jul @ 12:57pm
So, I did uninstall, deleted the files associated with Stellaris; and then reinstalled and resubscribed to the mod in question, and the oddest thing happened: you may know that if you do that, your games that're not able to be saved on cloud *officially* should not be available, well, this one most recent *was*.
Oh, and for what it is worth, this *may* have something to do with it, I'm unsure, and likewise unsure if or how to solve it, but my Steam situation has been saying that 'Steamwebhelper.exe" has been having problems, but @G-Man, in no possible way does the claim of "driving on the wrong side of the road" apply.
In fact, I wasn't insulting anybody at all.

Stimmt, 0.22 ist ja open Beta.

Ich teste das mit der settings.txt
