I've given the information as best I can, and seeing as that's all I'm able to provide of this, that's what you guys're going to use and deal with. There are no screen-shots, nor ability to provide them, they simply do not exist, nor would the 'files' for the errors... they simply happen as I've laid out.
In truth, the discord there is utterly worthless, due to the immaturity of the discord moderators, as has been directly shown, time and again.
What you did with that that produced that is a kind of political low-blow; instead of say a propaganda campaign, which may've worked, you attempted to use the state as the means; and it broke down your operation, as does tend to happen in the real world.
Tis most likely not a bug, but a detail of psychology that somehow entered gameplay politics *inside* the game.
As it stands, you are not following the help offered, if you want a discussion come join our discord, but if you are not willing or prepared to listen then please step away from this chat as you are interfering with my ability to pick up issues from players who want to report issues and that’s not fair on them. Enough is enough now.
but if you are not willing to provide the info that will help us better understand your issuse we can't help you much more
sorry if you take that as me being rude
RAM can definitely be a huge issue, but more confusing by far is how the settings.txt could be bad, and hence the source of the problem, and if we're to reinstall that part, say by verifying the integrity of game files.
@Cutter Slade, what do you mean by a "Vanilla Issue"? I really am not sufficiently familiar with that term at the present moment.
I also wonder if that could be related to the game simply refusing to function when you're trying to even get to the "new game/load game" function near the beginning as well, as that *seems* to be the primary issue.
How does that even work that the settings.txt is the problem, and wouldn't that really foul up the whole game for just about everybody come to think of it? Seems that if so, there's a really bad programming error somewhere in there if that's what has been going on... so yeah, I'm baffled alright.
I have to admit, iniitially, for about two or so days post the update to 4.0.21 with this, the game in question worked fine, and then it simply refused to work- that's the issue I've been having.
Now about this, when making the Federation, I recall in there somewhere that the choices you make may make your country both xenophobic and paranoid, well, in the Star Trek novels, check with S'task's people, "Those who March Beneath the Raptor's Wing" being their other common nickname, they sure did wind up kind of that way- the reason: getting your people kidnapped and roughed up by aliens will tend to do that alright- or worse stuff.... of course it can develop.
I really like the touches of this, and believe me, I shall go for your other earlier advice.

like Cutter Slade stated below.
@danbrad87 Did you do both the murder investigation event and the Mars uprising?

@archlovescats Nice to hear that you have been able to run the mod indeed with only 8 gigs of RAM, although I suspect that when New Horizons runs it will reserve quite a bit of free storage space too?
As on my system at least during the initial mod load it will use most of my 16 gigs of RAM + in addition also reserves space from my main Windows drive. Which is why would personally recommend at least 16 gigs of RAM AND + 10 gigs of free space on your Windows drive if you want the mod to run in default dx11 mode.
there's also a vanilla issue going around , when clicking "new game" the game would crash.
to fix this: delete the "settings.txt" file and restart the game
You could also join our discord and post the "error.log" after the crash.
(right after loading into main menu)
This always was a big issue, since years,
I'm playing a game from 4.0.21, but this kind of kicking out has been going on for a while.
RAM is at least 8 Gigs, it is not the problem.
- which mods do you have activated in the launcher?
- are you playing an old savegame from the last 3.14 version on STNH 4.0.21?
- again, how much RAM do you have? 16gb?32gb?
I'm not angry as such, but fully baffled by this turn of events. And *way* more into *what happened and why* as a goal to understand than anything and everything else combined.
This's kind of a "Isn't it odd?" situation as to what happened than anything else. So I pitched it to you guys.
@Cutter Slade; sorry for not answering before now, but my machine has easily enough RAM for this. The machine has at least 8 Gigs of RAM *free*.
That's not the error message I've been receiving, it is more like the old "program (such and such) has encountered an error and needs to close" type of older style messages that were so annoying in days past.
how much RAM does your PC have?
Why or how is something that's beyond me, as well as, get this: you know how usually if you delete your stellaris game files and then uninstall and reinstall the game, the old games don't show up as playable? Well, oddest thing happened: one or a few post entering version 4.0.21 *did*... I'm not angry at all, but well and thoroughly baffled by this.
Oh, and for what it is worth, this *may* have something to do with it, I'm unsure, and likewise unsure if or how to solve it, but my Steam situation has been saying that 'Steamwebhelper.exe" has been having problems, but @G-Man, in no possible way does the claim of "driving on the wrong side of the road" apply.
In fact, I wasn't insulting anybody at all.
Ich teste das mit der settings.txt
