Unfortunatelly the time I had five years is shorter than ever and I think there is not much that I can contribute right now.
But tincanrocket have my total support in updating this project and I would love to reinstall the game, out this textures to use, and see how well it aged over the years. :-)
Most of the cosmetic changes are done, but I am currently working on adding in stuff like spice, and other special resources. I'd eventually like to move that mod over to this original workshop item, if that's okay with Captain Murray, but please do check out the choam mod and let us know if you spot any bugs or have any thoughts about changes. I keep an eye on both threads, so will try to reply quickly.

Jade Falcon just made those awesome clothing for the Atreides House, but we are not sure how to create a race in such a way that these clothing can only be used for this specific race. Anyone have a idea how we can make this?
I just checked the Dune Encyclopedia and they state that the House Harkonnen symbol is the ram but the Dune wikia say its the blue griffon. Now I am not sure with one is correct (or maybe both are)

Last one for tonight. The Bene Gesserit - this uses resized mammalian clothing. All of the reskinned models are animated properly - I just need to work out how to make the items unique to each House.
Here's a screenshot of the Harkonnen modded clothes and hair, and in the comment below is a shot of the Fremen with a stillsuit (of sorts - it's a mammalian outfit rescaled and recoloured), and blue-in-blue eyes.
Slow progress...
For example, one thing I would like to accomplish (and I believe is not that complicated) was to put a stillsuit on the fremen model and paint his eyes completely blue.
Other idea was to replace one of planet types with somenthing like industrial or devasted to represent places like Giedi Prime and Salusa Secundus (maybe replace the Arid one, since we already have a desert type)
Also I could use ideas for the name list, not only names and surnames but ways to baptize ships, space stations and so long.
By the way, I implemented your changes to the guild in the mod. ;-)
I might be able to do new leader models and minor bits like that, but I haven't made it much farther than that with my mucking about so far - keep being sucked into actually playing the game ;)
I'm hoping as Stellaris matures we'll see more CK2 elements come in, as they would be great for the Dune setting - arranged marriages, offspring and genetic manipulation, duels, and so on. I have just loaded up your mod, and it's a great start - I made a couple of small changes to the Guild, as I thought they would be best using worm holes? I set everyone else to Warp apart from the Fremen, who got hyperlane use.
Ideally you'd want a custom start with the Empire being a bit like the HRE in CK2, and each House being a vassal, but maybe I am too hopeful that these kinds of things will make it into the game anytime soon?
tincanrocket, if you where planning in make a Landsraad mod, maybe we can join forces and improve this one even further. I know nothing about programming and every help will be welcome.
