Mod 2008564489's XComRestoredGTSPerk.ini allows re-adding FNG via bTURN_LIVEFIRETRAINING = true although whoever reads this might want to reduce iLIVEFIRETRAINING_REQ_RANK from 5 to 4 or 3.

should've read the comments, DOES NOT WORK WITH WOTC. I spent 20 minutes removing GTS mods when this was the only issue.

For anyone that never got a response. IT Does NOT work with WoTC because it already has a function similar in the Expansion.

Love the mod, essential for XCOM 2 (vanilla). Just got one question. I did change the cost of each level of F.N.G unlocks, and i've made good progress in an ironman game. But now i realized i need to adjust the cost for better balance. Can i make changes to the cost through the .ini file mid-game without messing up my save?

One of the faction cards in WotC upgrades the gts training, so that rookies become a higher rank when you train them as a specific class.

sorry for messaging on an old mod, buuuut ...
- forgive me, I'm forgetting all the XCom make blieve ranks are. i'll just refer to this as levels ...
- anyhoo, I'm late to upgrading this, I have some squaddies at level 2
- I get the FNG perk ... which upgrades squaddies to level 3
- ... the level 2 squaddies are showing up in the GTS as trainable - and it's causing stability/crash issues
- is that a known issue / work around, or a conflict with one of my other mods?

I don't know how to change the ini file. Does it change it so when I get a Col. rank I can then train them to Col(or w/e) or when a Col. dies I can train them up to it?

I'm not a fan of the soldier dying to unlock the perk, doesn't logically make sense to me, so I'd like to know the changes please!

I'm wondering what happens if I lose a high ranking new recruit? IE a Major from the black market - they have no kills technically, but for the purpose of the code will they count towards FNG ranks?

update:
you can now rank up soldiers that are already higher than rookie rank
took me a while, needed to figure out how to get rid of the class selection UI thing.

Hey @GrimyBunyip What do you think about adding a new feature to this mod so that any rank below the rank you can train to may go in for a rank up? i.e. a squaddie can't get to sergeant in training when a rookie may currently. It's seems really unfortunate that somebody who ranked up but got crit wounds and was out a long time can't hit the training facility and catch up. What do you think?

Yeah I lost a LT with 35 kills just now, that plus a few other soldiers took me over the first threshold allowing me to train a rookie straight to corpral. Just to be clear to anyone that wonders, it does not allow you to train squadies to corprals, just rookies! If I lose any more soldiers and get to the next level I'll report back - but working as advertised!

I plan to change most if not all of my mods to use mod config menu eventually.
But that's not high on my to do list. I got a few other mods to do, and BG has suggested I update a few of my mods to remove the gamestatecontext overrides. And those are more important to finish first IMO.

They should unlock retroactively, but you need 40 combined kills between your dead soldiers for the first fng unlock. Did you have that? Wetworks and kill assists dont count towards that 40.

I have a few dead guys before I subscribed to this mod and checking the GTS, the perks are not unlocked. So they don't unlock retrospectively?

LOVE IT! Totally awesome mod! Ties in real nice with the lore as well. Every of these colonels etc would also be training their own apprentices back in the ship whom upon their death, rise to the field.
