I want to curbstomp the fool that thought up this mechanic. Thank you for making this mod.
Spotter 18 Sep, 2021 @ 9:01pm
@Krj12 Commentary at least for when the game is updated, that the Mod still works. Or on what BUGS may have developed with the new game update would be a good thing. IMHO of course
krj12 (Ken)  [author] 18 Sep, 2021 @ 8:58pm
Um, no, unless I get overwhelming feedback that the mod no longer functions, I will not be removing it. Otherwise, not sure what updates you think are needed.
Spotter 18 Sep, 2021 @ 6:10pm
**Nope KR I'm playing the original X2 for now. ***Maybe the mod should just be removed if it's not updated after 2 or 3 years?***
krj12 (Ken)  [author] 17 Sep, 2021 @ 7:36pm
No, I'm not actively playing the game at this time. There is a WOTC version if that's what you're looking for.
Spotter 17 Sep, 2021 @ 5:30pm
Any updates for this forthcoming?
sebalokoshoon98 9 Jul, 2020 @ 2:57pm
Ok, thanks :), and take this just as a suggestion, but you should edit the part where you explain how it works, because some dumb people (like me), could get confuse and spend almost an hour modifying the file once and then again and again and again because they may have understood that they had to edit something in that specific file to make it work properly instead of read the latest comments or better yet, just ask you directly how it to make this work
krj12 (Ken)  [author] 9 Jul, 2020 @ 12:59pm
No, it wont fully work unless the mod is active at the beginning of a mission. It has to parallel what the game is doing as far as damage taken per unit.
sebalokoshoon98 9 Jul, 2020 @ 8:00am
So, i dont have to change anything on the XComMakeHealsPersist.ini file?? I was confused because of what your description said about the configuration, btw, i activated this mod in the middle of a mission, that still has something to do about this mod?? Beacuse my wounded soldiers were still wounded after the mission ended, even if i got them fully recovered before finishing the mission
krj12 (Ken)  [author] 9 Jul, 2020 @ 5:40am
you dont have to manipulate anything unless you have another mod which performs some kind of heal.
sebalokoshoon98 8 Jul, 2020 @ 10:41pm
excuse, but i didnt unterstand very well how to manipulate the .ini file, i dont have the WOTC expansion btw, but i dont understand how to manipulate the file, wich variants do i have to manipulate?
krj12 (Ken)  [author] 17 May, 2020 @ 4:16am
yes
PlasmaDrone 16 May, 2020 @ 11:58pm
Will this work mid-campaign?
LightenedDark 13 May, 2020 @ 2:23pm
I have none in the community mod manager. I also tried removing all gremlin-editing mods but I got the same behavior. Can I have you glance over the discussion I made in the WotC version to make sure I am headed in the right direction? Or just PM me on the modding discord.
krj12 (Ken)  [author] 13 May, 2020 @ 2:19pm
I've never had any issues healing with the gremlin, so not sure what you're seeing. Any other mods which might be conflicting?
LightenedDark 13 May, 2020 @ 12:14pm
@krj12 since you saw the notification for this thread, can I get you to take a peak at the WotC version's thread? as a discussion entry, I have a list of abilities I'm hoping to update but I'm having difficulty with the given update method. Even some vanilla abilities such as healing via gremlin are not working over in that mod. I am on the modding discord.
krj12 (Ken)  [author] 12 May, 2020 @ 2:28pm
if you're running wotc, i'd suggest trying the wotc version and see if that fixes your issue.
notbraveWalrus 12 May, 2020 @ 11:32am
i really want to try this mod but it's making my game crash everytime
Shavy 31 Mar, 2020 @ 1:30pm
LWOTC?
LightenedDark 19 Jan, 2020 @ 10:43am
Although stable in WotC, its implementation meant some heals, like the medkit, worked and other heals, like the gremlin flying to use a medkit, did not. Instead use the WotC version instead: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1970813574

As to the haters like Pepe and Quasar who I will not address again here: This mod is THE MOST IMPORTANT MOD IN THE ENTIRETY OF THE WORKSHOP. This mod is the single reason I now run almost 400 gameplay mods. I would ragequit my thousand hours of Xcom2 if I didn't have this mod. XCom can use medkits to heal a soldier from Bleeding Out all the way to full health so he can go back to jumping off second story buildings without slowing down or taking damage. That's a FULL heal, not a 'you're fine now but feel free to act like a soccer player once we are in the avenger.'
Zheronn Kai 8 Jan, 2020 @ 9:00pm
You said that support would be added for Soulsteal if there was enough demand... and I think that's the #1 thing that people are requesting beacuse as it stands, with this mod active a PsyOp using Soulsteal actually debilitates itself by healing up damage that a Medkit would otherwise make permanent, thus dooming themselves to medbay time because they didn't use a medkit instead. It makes Soulsteal worthless.

I know it doesn't make sense or isn't feasible for ALL heals in the game to permaheal (like heal nades) , but Soulsteal should definitely be one of the things that does, otherwise this mod makes one of the PsyOp's core abilities an active detriment to his own long term survivability.
Alwiane 7 Nov, 2019 @ 11:56pm
Since it seems like the mod author isn't going to add support for Soulsteal, does anyone know how I could edit the mod to add support for it? I want Soulsteal to be a viable ability again.
Snipe 16 Oct, 2019 @ 1:09am
Brilliant. I always wondered why the game people thought it was okay to still be injured when fully healed. Thank you.
Tim_ 8 Oct, 2019 @ 4:51pm
I just completed a WOTC campaign with 104 mods including this one. It all went well. Love this mod.
Haite 7 Sep, 2019 @ 3:29pm
Crashes if combined with It's just a scratch, apparently. I removed and it fixed for me.
Taylem 11 Feb, 2019 @ 4:43am
@QuasarBeing - Can't lose a leg in XCOM 2 ... just saying. :P Some could considering Bleeding Out the point when you lose a limb heh
Undecided Name For Now 10 Feb, 2019 @ 8:16pm
Personally I imagine medkits as a temp heal, not a "Oh, I got my leg shot off." *MEDKIT* "YAY I"M BACK IN!"
HATERADE 17 Jan, 2019 @ 6:40pm
Can we get another update for other medical classes from the Workshop?
Miss Mocha 9 May, 2018 @ 11:53am
the default makes sense enough tbh it always said in other xcoms that it was a temporary healing agent

i kinda pictured this as a sort of gaffa tape or a freezer (hense the spray of blue cold shit) but meh if ever i think to myself fuck logic i wanna have a bit of fun i'll turn it on :P
Thunder 19 Mar, 2018 @ 1:17pm
I agree with Captain Obvious, in fact I'm not installing this mod for that reason, because it's confusing to have SOME heals work and SOME heals don't.
Either it's all (or at least all the major ones) or noone.

The specialist is still the healer of the game, therefore he will get the benefit anyway, won't change anything if the psyop is able to heal himself without debilitating himself...
Alwiane 11 Mar, 2018 @ 9:26pm
I feel like Soulsteal should be included. Otherwise, there's no point in getting that skill. If a PsiOp heals themself with SoulSteal, they are then doomed to finish the mission wounded, because the Field Medic or Specialist cannot heal that damage. Soulsteal actually becomes debilitating.
KongMD 24 Jan, 2018 @ 3:40am
There's a minor flaw in how the mod applies the extra healing: it still applies the health bonus even if the soldier took damage after the heal was applied.

Here's how I noticed. I took my solider out to a mission, he took a hit, and fell to 11/16 HP. Gremlin healed him up back to full HP. Then, he was critted by an alien, and fell to 2/16 HP. Mission ends, and the mod still applies the bonus HP, even though the my solider left the battlefield and was almost dead. He ended w/ 4/16 HP (I have the PRECENTAGE variable set to 33%).
Cahos Rahne Veloza 16 Jan, 2018 @ 1:44am
@Ravemaster99:

I had a mission once where I fully healed a critically wounded soldier (1hp remaining but still kicking) and I received a "Flawless" mission, but when I got home he was wounded for a couple of days as well. So yeah as krj12 said, it's just the game burping from time to time lol
krj12 (Ken)  [author] 15 Jan, 2018 @ 4:44pm
No, shouldnt have counted as damage after the mission. Every once in a blue moon, I'll get something like this, still havent figured it out.
Ravemaster99 15 Jan, 2018 @ 4:41pm
I had a soldier take 1hp from lost mission, heal to full with a medkit, but the summary still says "lightly wounded 2 days". Is that like, a minimum recovery time because damage was applied period?
Nicrolyte 13 Oct, 2017 @ 8:09pm
qauality of care medic skill is a good solution to this mods posture. This is to suppose that if i am out in the garrage and while shapening a blade, I slip or screw up and dice my finger or hand. And an Xcom soldier comes allong and patches me up. and the following mornoing its as if i take off the bandages to find the wound is completely healed. What the health refill Represents is putting an injured soldier back in the fight. Most of all Human skin and tissue that has been damaged. Will Become Inflamed, Hurt (a lot) open Artierys will lose blood rapidly, and skelital damage can impede movement and normal limb actions. the reason he gets 5 more health to be killed All over again. Its because the new attack is hitting different places on his armor. and that Health is the attack Overcoming that armor and the morphine that has allowed that soldier to ignore some of the pain that would make walking himself and his gear back out of the Battle nearly impossible
Lerrasien 9 Oct, 2017 @ 1:33pm
Fair enough. Thank you for the quick reply :)
krj12 (Ken)  [author] 9 Oct, 2017 @ 1:32pm
no, i looked into it. I didnt see any way of doing it without adding a dependency on the other mod.
Lerrasien 9 Oct, 2017 @ 11:50am
Any chance of adding the heal grenade as a heal that counts toward this?
RainingMetal 29 Sep, 2017 @ 2:11pm
I don't think the updated Spark Auto Repair from GTS Spark Perks for WOTC negates the healing infirmary prevention from this mod.
krj12 (Ken)  [author] 28 Sep, 2017 @ 2:35pm
right
Con Agni 28 Sep, 2017 @ 5:18am
@krj12 Thnx!

So Atm only possible to turn it off, or play with the no's at DefaultGameData.ini?
Con Agni 28 Sep, 2017 @ 5:04am
@ Chaos Sorry, i wasnt speaked clear =), its truly DOES work for WotC, i readed the comments, but it will be nice, if the start menu get it to WotC, not see as old. And if possible, the way to heal fatigue damege at the field too.
Tanaka Khan 24 Sep, 2017 @ 9:52am
It was confirmed working a month ago
Cahos Rahne Veloza 24 Sep, 2017 @ 4:29am
@Con Agni:

This DOES work for WotC.

Damn lazy cunt who can't be bothered to read other people's comments on the mod :P
Con Agni 24 Sep, 2017 @ 1:16am
WOTC version preaty plz =)
krj12 (Ken)  [author] 11 Sep, 2017 @ 5:00pm
No idea, I dont play LW2.
Lizy_Sticks 11 Sep, 2017 @ 4:35pm
working in Lw2 ? i cant tell im trying to cut down mods becuse i got under advenger bug atm :(
DarthMagus 10 Sep, 2017 @ 5:21pm
@krj12 I for one would love for you to make an option to enable this to work for all heals (like the aforementioned SoulSteal) just in case I really like the class those abilities belong to.
