The troubleshooting instructions were already posted below.
It definitely needs some updates, a new model for the viewpoints, for example. The work is mostly done, but currently I have no time to finish it.

1. Try placing this mod at the top of the list;
2. Make sure the following parameters are set to "1" in config.cfg file in your profile folder:
g_show_game_blockers "1"
g_show_game_elements "1"
3. Create a new test profile with only this mod enabled and then enable the others one-by-one.
And BTW 1.44 is still in beta.
So PLEASE add the gizmo, or a service person, or increase the area of trigger to cover all pump.
I suggest you to play without this mod for a few hours just to get used to the game.

I tested the mods you suggested and they worked fine, but when I load your mod as well, the gas stations are still invisible, even when the suggested mods have higher priority than yours.
I'll keep using your mod because with it the game is more realistic in my opinion, even if the gas stations are invisible, because I think it's really cool to have someone waiting for a delivery, at the mechanic and so on.
I only suggest the inclusion of some symbol in gas stations (not necessarily a person) to facilitate the identification of which fuel pump can fill the truck's tank.

I have an idea how this can be improved, but it won't be implemented any time soon, sorry. =(
I find the fact of hiding the gas station symbols a bit bad, because even if you use mods like "Icons!" or "HN Immersive Symbols Extreme", the gas station icons do not appear, leaving only the icons for parking the truck when making the delivery.
Also there are a few more files in /model/activation/ folder used by ATS, but not in ETS2.

Also standalone version of this mod contains a file Update.txt which provides more information about the files being used.
Please reproduce your crash on a new profile with only this mod enabled, upload your game.log.txt and game.crash.txt from My Documents to pastebin.com and post links here (or better create a new topic here so it's easier to track things). You can use the dev camera to quickly navigate around the map.

Then you'll probably need to add some textures from ETS2 base into it. Modding info available here: https://modding.scssoft.com
You could even distribute and maintain it yourself, just say it's an adaptation of this mod.
I saw the discussion for the ATS version, but can you check and see if it is possible again? I really want that. :D
It's tested on every update as soon as it's released. 1.39 is in beta now, so not tested yet, but there's 99% that it will work.
I could shift them to the side, but:
1. these models are placed on a map in random orientation, so you'll never know to which side;
2. it could cause them to collide with other objects.
All new borders are mostly the same feature-wise and they all use exactly the same models from this mod, so it's probably an issue on your end.
If you still have crashes, you can try to:
1. Verify your game files;
2. Place this mod on top in mod manager;
3. Post your issue on Technical Problems section of SCS forum [forum.scssoft.com].
For now please reproduce a problem, upload your game.log.txt and game.crash.txt from My Documents to pastebin.com and post links here.
