Find the youtube tutorial on Building Themes by District Mod, you'll need to, but you'll be really excited at how powerful the mod because you can control absolutely everything that spawns in your city. Don't like one specific ugly vanilla house? This mod can prevent it from ever showing up in your city.

Since the default styles system is so awful, here is what I highly recommend. Actually before going through unsubscribing, you can reduce your RAM loading by setting the graphics setting for textures down one level (ex: from high to medium), and disabling any DLCs that you don't absolutely want for this city save. If you're still in the red, then it's time to start reducing subs. On each workshop item, the file size on the top right will indicate to you how much RAM that item is going to take.

Having a game that crashes is quite often a RAM issue, but also are you trying to make styles or adding subscriptions while you're in game? Never do that, and also always quit to desktop any time you want to reload your city or load something else.

Yyyup, it is most likely down to too many assets and/or mods that add a lot of assets like road mods (meaning you've likely exceeded your RAM). You have to pick and choose carefully if you don't have a lot of RAM. Also, the default District Style system is *awful*!!!! It takes forever to make a style. Each addition gets slower and slower. I know how you can make one super fast. Solutions:
1) Get Loading Screen Mod, while a city save or new game is loading, you will watch a RAM report while it loads up all the content, both from the game and from any subscriptions. If you're in the orange, you're at the limit. If you're in the red, force quit that thing and reduce your subscriptions!

Yes, both of you do amazing work. Creating District Styles with these is tedious AF though -- CS keeps crashing after I add one or two assets to the style... Sometimes I can add quite a few more before it crashes, but it seems the more assets I add to a new style I created, the slower the game runs until it ultimately crashes.

I have had to relaunch a dozen or more times to complete this District Style and another. Any idea why it is doing this or what I can do to make it more stable?

hey, im still having issues with several assets not showing up in building themes/theme manager. i tried the suggestion listed below but i can open the xml file

Okeedoke, since the homes cannot remove themselves from a theme and also I just verified that the files are still here, it has to be something on your end. 99% of assets won't conflict with an update, either. I don't know what TM is but if you go to Content Manager, you should be able to find them by simply searching Sears. Check to make sure they are activated.
Then, what you're describing as the message that they are missing from your theme sounds exactly like Building Themes mod's message. The last time time there was an update, i had the same problem. Boformer advised to first make a copy and put it elsewhere for safe keeping, and then delete this xml file located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Cities_Skylines\BuildingThemes.xml (that's a file that has your personally programmed themes that you have made). Then you will have to remake your theme.

What about the other sears homes version? I read several are having problems with the American eclectic homes using themes

Yes, they are working fine. What can happen some times is that you might have to remake your theme again. I've had to do that myself at nearly every update O.o which is a little annoying but it doesn't take too long.

Can you confirm if these are compatible with the new DLC,? The non HnG version shows then missing from my themes
