@Sakota yeah of course, it's been a very long time you can do whatever
Sakota 26 Feb, 2022 @ 5:23am
Not sure if you still pay attention to this but, mind if I use your civs to make a scenario? Im making a collection of maps with your civs in them, sort of a story, with my goal being each map starting in a different point of time (simple scenarios, so im only making the map, getting the civs in each place, ive no clue how to dk more than that xD)

I'm not so sure I like that Lady in red, though. Doesn't look like a person of authority much. But I guess it's my personal bias.

@ .chalaux, I know! i said I got nothing against your choice of illustration. It's the Irony that has made me laugh like a hyena.

I mean, that fantasy series is one of my favorite, and that picture is from the new edition, I saw in the Bookstores couple years ago, I myself own the old one. It took me about a year to recognize it actually. I just kept going back to it.

And then it shot me in the face. The elf-looking guy, the bodyguard! (they are actually called something like ""free folk"). I googled the books and there it was. lol. The Empire it was indeed.

I really hope nobody asks you to take it down. Something tells me this picture might be under "all rights reserved" tag. Good luck, and good work so far.

2 more ideas for civs: Evolved Beasts + Merpeople. Evolved Beasts are alot like the Iroquis, working specifcally with forsts and jungles, and are a militaristic people. The Merpeople can place cities on Coasts and their capitol is in an ocean of their spawning in. All units of the Beasts are harder kill, even more so on their home turf, where as merpeople are all about the navy, starting with embarking and navigation.

@Revan You'd be surprised about how difficult it is to find a good picture of a fantasy-themed council. I did the edit myself, the guy on the throne didn't match the idea so I covered him with a pretty lady.
[PBS] Revan 2 Oct, 2016 @ 4:24am
You know, What the Funny thing is? Honestly.

The Illustration, featuring "The Council" I guess. From the First Look I thought I knew it for some reason. I couldn't really tell why, but I kept returning to it. At some point I started to notice some familiar details.

Big surprise is... It's the Illustration from the Cover of Russian Fantasy "Diamond Sword, Wooden Sword" - as a direct translation, by Nick Perumov. Wait. Wait.

Wait.

The funny part is... It illustrates the magical council of the... Empire. Bloody Empire. Yeah, quite generic, roman style empire. With Emperor. Sitting on his Throne. You can see it on the full picture here:

http://samlib.ru/img/s/sudilowskaja_o_s/otchetstogosweta/kript-imperatorskijdworeczalwnutrennegokrugasobranieierarhowcerkwigalaktiki.jpg

The Woman in the Red Dress, painted over original illustration is covering the throne.

I'm not criticizing. Not really. Just the Irony of the situation and your strange choice of Cover makes me laugh my brain out.

*unfair civ* has multiple leaders
Little Nash Rambler 12 Aug, 2016 @ 11:36am
.chalaux I had an idea for a Generic Fantasy Civilization that I thought you might what to steal. I’ll probably post this in more that one place so as to better your chance of seeing it and deciding to take it or leave it. So here it is, Mountain Orcs. their traits, building and units would of course be up to you however I did have some thoughts on what they could be (the names are changeable and in no way perfect). Uruk-hai. Heavily armored orc warriors replacing the longsword men or the musket men. Mountain Troll. Tough sieg unit replacing the trebuchet or the cannon. Wolf Riders or Warg Riders. Fast mounted unit replacing the knight or lancer. Orc Stronghold. Powerful replacement for the castle. Orc Forge. Improved replacement for the Forge. Orc Fortress. A replacement for the fort tile improvement. So there it is, take it or leave it, or even take it then leave it, or anything else really.

For some reason this civ screams " 'MURICA" to me
==FANATIC== 25 Jun, 2016 @ 11:12am
Can you make direct downloads for these?
xalauch  [author] 22 Jun, 2016 @ 5:07am
@cpmage Thank you, it should be fixed now.
cpmage 22 Jun, 2016 @ 4:26am
Thanks for the mods. They have been enjoyable so far, especially the dark elves. I though would like to know that the sentinel for the republic mod cannot be updated to any higher tier units.
BigDaddyBulge 17 Jun, 2016 @ 10:11am
Yep I used to mod a little too, nothing like new civs, but small gameplay changes and new buildings. The artwork is definitely the hardest part.
xalauch  [author] 17 Jun, 2016 @ 9:53am
Thank you very much. It's fun when you get the hang of it, in the end it's just replacing worda on a template. Surprisingly the hardest part is finding good artwork.
BigDaddyBulge 17 Jun, 2016 @ 9:25am
These look pretty good, and you've been putting them out pretty fast too, good job man. You must be getting tired of all that code by now right? I know I would be.
Quak 9 Jun, 2016 @ 6:04pm
very cool civs, the interaction with them is great.
ZeroPointBlaze 8 Jun, 2016 @ 1:04pm
I really like this! Keep it up!
==FANATIC== 8 Jun, 2016 @ 11:20am
I just adore these civilisations! I've been looking for this forever! You are a star!
King Harkinian 8 Jun, 2016 @ 7:09am
No trade bonuses in the UA? That seems like it should be part of a republic civ.
7ux0n0 5 Jun, 2016 @ 3:26am
Neh, i got another idea for a civ, even when it maybe doesn'T fit into a fantasy world (depends on how it is made :D): Indutrial Empire, a cyberpunk themed civ, with .... well.... very much penelties, but some boni too.
Special Traits: Ancient Machines
Only certain units can be build from the start and are getting stronger with each researched unit.
All training buildings get replaced by ONE special building. Farms, plantages, hunting outposts and meadows give only 50% of all stats (since the Industrial empire has also cayborgs :D) and iron, copper and oil get +2 food, +2 production and +2 gold.

Special units: None, since all are getting replaced by new units.
Special building: manufactioring facility, replaces all training buildings. Gives +1 food, +2 production, +20% production and heals all cyborg and mechanical units in the city.

I hope you will use it in a future themed civ pack if it doesn'T fit...
@shrimp dealer 4 Jun, 2016 @ 8:47am
@.chalaux I don't know much about how to create it either, if I did I would've. Good to know I've suggested something worthwhile.
xalauch  [author] 4 Jun, 2016 @ 5:09am
@A Corgilobster Well yeah, it can be done, but I personally don't know how. When I'm finished with the civs I may try to do a mod replacing city-state names for fantasy ones. About the great people, will have a look into it, sounds interesting.
@shrimp dealer 4 Jun, 2016 @ 4:58am
Just asking, could you make new names for great people, new names for stone and marble, to make it "proper" fantasy world? Just sort of as a unique universe. Just wondering, thought it might be an idea, because I want to do something like that, but all the Westeros and Elder Scrolls ones are underwhelming or not very fun.
Toheck 3 Jun, 2016 @ 10:22am
No problem. Good luck!
xalauch  [author] 3 Jun, 2016 @ 2:13am
@Toheck thank you man, will try it later.
Toheck 2 Jun, 2016 @ 4:41pm
PROMOTION_HOMELAND_GUARDIAN
It's similar in effect, but stronger (25% versus 15%).
There's another one:
PROMOTION_HOMELAND_GUARDIAN_BOOGALOO
It's the same strength as Himeji Castle, but I've never seen it actually used, so I don't know if it might be bugged.
xalauch  [author] 2 Jun, 2016 @ 11:38am
@Toheck Do you know the database name for that promotion? I can't find it anywhere.
Toheck 2 Jun, 2016 @ 10:47am
There are other promotions with similar effects. I think "homeland defender" is one of them. If you would like the Sentinel to benefit from Himeji Castle, you could consider using homeland defender.
xalauch  [author] 2 Jun, 2016 @ 12:56am
@Toheck Yeah I gave them the Himeji Castle promotion, it probaby won't stack but other units will still get the promotion, not these ones tho. My aim was to create two very defensive units for city defense, so I used this promotion since it's only in friendly territory.
Toheck 1 Jun, 2016 @ 1:09pm
Did you give the Sentinel the Himeji Castle promotion for free? I'm pretty sure that means it won't benefit if you build the wonder.
Schatten 1 Jun, 2016 @ 7:18am
whats wrong with saying oriental tribes?
xalauch  [author] 1 Jun, 2016 @ 1:10am
@Lord_Daemonar It's "oriental" tribes not "asian" tribes. Anyway, I don't care about racism, this is a fantasy themed mod, I don't know if you realised but I used the african black models for the Undead and I don't think that's racist at all. A religious order would be a faith oriented civ with Byzantium's traits and units getting faith by every slayed enemy; the cultist/inquisitor type. An Aztec-themed catfolk would be interesting, but I was planning on using the Wood Orcs for that shamanesque type.
Lord_Daemonar 31 May, 2016 @ 9:39pm
>Oriental Tribes
...may be a tad racist. Why not "Steppe Tribes"? Or even "Centaur Tribes"!

>Religious Order
Why? This is covered with the religious mechanics

>????
Giants, Aztec-themed catfolk, swamp lizardfolk with UU boats.
