In case anyone is wondering, this mod is not necessary with War of the Chosen.

If I underestand your description correctly, the easiest way to fix this would be to COMBINE the vanilla behaviour (update position only when using Put Down) and your mod's (update position only when moving), to cover these edge cases (even without using console commands, I'm wary something similar might happen if Invert is used on a carrier).

FYI, this seems to cover most cases, except one - teleporting the carrier via console commands. If you do that and then try to drop your luggage, they'll drop it on the original pre-ttp location (even if using Controllable PutDownUnit).

did a test on wotc, doesnt seem to need this mod. threw a nade where a bleeding out soldier was at (while he is being carried), he's still bleeding out.

@Ebithril: I think you misunderstood part of the description...the "throwing nade where they were before" also applies if they were downed next to somthing explosive...which happens with dark VIPs to me pretty often...well, the enemies or my guys sometimes had blown up the car he was next to as collateral damage, and then my mission failed like that...which just sucks and shows again, that next to no testing was done for this game...at least not for many basic features...

I've never had this happen to me.
Then again, I don't think any of my carriers have ever been exposed and knocked down/killed...

Still, fucking RIDICULOUS that somethnig as silly as this, AGAIN, need to be fixed by modders... :(

Have you contact the company about this being screwed up like this? Seems like the kind of thing that shouldn't require a mod to fix it.

How the devs managed to screw this up is beyond me. I had so many problems on Dark VIP missions because of this.

@Kuroi.Kitsune: While I agree, there is still no excuse that it hasn't been fixed by Firaxis yet. Since the game is out there have been a ton of reports of this bug after all.

@Fireborn just lost a soldier to this bug used commands to try everything I could just to get her picked up, I couldn't eventually I gave up

No, that sounds like the issue where the ragdoll doesn't land where the unit is located, I think LOS Preview handles that.

Great! I encountered this issue a few times. Knocked out a ViP and carried him off, then the car he was knocked out next to exploded and he died, even though he was on the other side of the map.
