Cheers. Yeah its better with camera further back, triple screen setting is better also (I have 42 inch with 39 FOV). It feels a bit weird like the camera is too far back, but probably just needs getting used to as the physics and driving experience are really good. I can put the camera forward like dash cam, I have a wheel with display like the real car anyways. Simagic GT1 D shaped with gear number and rev on display & Simworx V8 Super-car shiftier. Its pretty good and more realistic V8 Supercars than other sims, iRacing has the laser scan of the cars inside so its probably easier to get the proportions right, but the weight transfare and feel is probably more like the real cars than iRacings cars. Cheers.

@lewiswood20585 - check in the options there are two modes, one for triple screens and one for single screen. Try the alternative may give you a better field of view. Unfortunately the dimensions of the cockpit and where your seat is placed as to how much the A pillar will obstruct.
LJW85 4 Feb @ 12:58am
I like these V8 Supercar best, the Ford one is my favorite with Pepsi Maxx paint job. Better cockpit visibility than the newer ones (the pillars down the right hand side are too obstructive, and proportions seem off in newer ones) and the right foot lift is a good extra challenge.

Update would be great. But if not it works well and is great driving.
Donut Man 4 Jan, 2024 @ 6:03am
@Striker. That's because they don't do that irl
Striker 20 Nov, 2021 @ 2:10am
I'm not sure if you guys are working on this mod anymore, but the throttle doesn't auto cut when you upshift. Just a heads up :)
FVRfactor  [author] 16 Oct, 2019 @ 3:57am
It was having a minor update but its probably reverted to hidden. I'll fix it up.

SeriousSpy 15 Oct, 2019 @ 9:19pm
What happened to the 2018 mod?
FVRfactor  [author] 15 Mar, 2019 @ 4:12am
@ Billy Strange - hope you have found the 2018 cars.
Billy Strange 27 Feb, 2019 @ 2:52pm
I enjoyed these...looking forward to trying the 2018 cars
FVRfactor  [author] 23 Feb, 2019 @ 3:02am
Just letting you know FVR V8Supercars 2018 is now available on Steam Workshop
FVRfactor  [author] 19 Feb, 2019 @ 11:59am
@Opteron - the Tyres are straight out of S397 with no modifications. As for the physics they were based on the original Supercars performance out of the manual and based on car specifications. Unfortunately AMS drives differently than rF2 and so does AC. I find I can drive most cars in AC and AMS but find I need to put more in to the learning curve of rF2. I'm not a great driver.

As for the 4K version - we had several people complain to get 4K and that's the way we went as that's what S397 have done. Damned if we do and damned if we don't. The Steam version will be 4K and the other version will be 1080P - just the way the upload has gone as we haven't downsized as yet and can't work out a way to get them to work together.

@FlashQld
Great, that's what I meant - will 2018 V8 physics and tires be updated. Not to say physics were bad and for sure V8 in AMS are not reference/benchmark, but the cars handle much different than in AMS, and tires behave differently and wear much quicker. Don't know about physics engine updates but I know tire CPM had some significant refinements So it's great you integrated the latest S397 tires in 2018 cars. BTW: are they they the same as reference tires used in official S397 GTs?
Regarding 4K textures - I think if it causes such performance drop then it's much better to have 1080p by default. Probably it's hard to see visual improvement with 4K while racing anyway.
FVRfactor  [author] 18 Feb, 2019 @ 1:11pm
@opteron We have not at this stage updated the 2014-2016 mod but creating a 2018 - the tyre model has been updated using S397 tyres totally as recommended. 2014-2016 will get some treatment but we are in the process of finalising the Mustang for inclusion into a 2019 mod. 2018 is a 4K version but we will be doing a 1080P version as well as the graphical content kills my machine until I upgrade and I guess others have same issues.
buddyspike 17 Feb, 2019 @ 4:18pm
@FlashQld
It's great you're updating the mod. Will physics, especially tire model be also updated?
FVRfactor  [author] 3 Jan, 2019 @ 12:51pm
Some of you may know we are currently running the 2018 V8's in the background here hopefully ironing out a couple of issues with our forum members. Although it won't be finished it will be released very soon as is so it can be used for this season server racing if needed.
jamieson5000 3 Nov, 2018 @ 10:01pm
Thanks Feralarri!! I've tried that, still no luck :( Doesn't matter what track or AI strength Im getting hammered... I will have to practice to drive better...
Feralarri 1 Nov, 2018 @ 10:18pm
You could try reducing the rear wing this will give you more top speed esp at Bathurst. This will loosen the car but you can soften rear spring a little to rebalance the car
jamieson5000 1 Nov, 2018 @ 6:23pm
I love this mod! But on the straight aways i seem to get total hammered... Eg, on the long straight at bathurst they are about .700 seconds faster then me? is it my driving style or how can i speed my car up???
T-RAV 19 Oct, 2018 @ 12:50am
aw www. ill keep dreaming haha
FVRfactor  [author] 18 Oct, 2018 @ 1:26pm
We don't have the models for the 90's cars.
T-RAV 18 Oct, 2018 @ 3:00am
Id love to see a supercars skin set from the mid 90's :)
FVRfactor  [author] 13 Oct, 2018 @ 4:25pm
???? Are you serious- it's WIP
FVRfactor  [author] 13 Oct, 2018 @ 1:17am
@crocattack - I believe we will re the Super2, possibly as an addon. It's the format that we are working with because it makes the mod very big.
FVRfactor  [author] 12 Oct, 2018 @ 3:42pm
@crocattack - V8Skinner has done the 2013 skins which we will add into the mod. Yes Skinner is good but as he is an rF1 user we have to still set them up for DX11, do all the other incidental parts and that takes time as that is not our point of concentration. We do have all the 2017 skins done and the 2018 ones are in progress. The issue is the ZB isn't finished. I have to implement various items and some of those are testing my patience. It's easier when you are on the outside looking in but when will I finish, I would have loved to have finished it in March 2018 but some things are just taking longer and I have a lot less time than I had a few years ago. When will it be finished, I have no idea. I would like to have it done before too much longer, preferablybefore Christmas even if it is unfinished. Some of the things that are holding me up are pesky stupid faults that are driving me nuts and stopping my enthusiasm to complete it.
FVRfactor  [author] 28 Sep, 2018 @ 3:36am
@opteron I agree on the tyres issue, we have used the S397 tyre in the new mod and will update the old mod once we finish up the 2018 which hopefully will makeit feel better. Bear in mind the S397 tyres didn't exist during 2014-16 mod. this year has been very slow for a couple of us with personal things to deal witha nd just getting older. In the old days I used to work some crazy hours on the mod, now I have a tendency to only be able to fit an hour or so a week. Although hopefully a little more this weekend.
Cheers
FVRfactor  [author] 28 Sep, 2018 @ 3:31am
@crocattack I do have 2017 skins, not all in 4k however in the version we are working with.
I do believe V8 Skinner has done the 2013 skins for us as well. At present we are only concentrating on 2017/2018 and will put the others back into the long term project. We're still working on how to sort the full mod at this stage and may just do 201/18 on their own but have them all sit in the menus together.

As for when they are coming out. It's been a tough slog this year trying to do them so I may do an unfinished release just to get it out there. This usually spurs me to do more to it. As for unfinished, I mean it may not have the moving driver and some other bits but just trying to get something finished. I'm just doing brakelights and headlights on the ZB at present and then we may do a minor release in our forums first for testing purposes.

Hope that answers your questions.
FVRfactor  [author] 28 Sep, 2018 @ 3:31am
@crocattack 2012 mod has not been updated.

Holden {LINK REMOVED}

Ford
{LINK REMOVED}

Not sure how it goes in rf2 anymore however.

buddyspike 23 Sep, 2018 @ 12:21pm
Nice mod, I find the cars more "demanding", easier to lose traction than the V8s in AMS, don't know which one are more realistic. . But what really doesn't seem right is too fast tire degradation. Especially when driving on a limit but even when racing more gentle they degrade too fast. I believe it's pretty easy to fix by changing realtime tire values. It would be best if the mod utilized S397 tires(if matched)
dreamer_al_59 14 Jul, 2018 @ 9:54pm
wooohooooo, sounds interesting..............lol.:steamhappy:
dreamer_al_59 14 Jul, 2018 @ 9:35pm
YAY!!! It worked. Thanks for that. The shift key made all the difference (I will add that to my bag of tricks).
dreamer_al_59 14 Jul, 2018 @ 9:15pm
Thank you for taking time to respond. I did try adjusting seats, but will try once again. I hadnt used shift key, so hopefully that does work. Being an Aussie I love your Holdens and would like to have them racing.
FVRfactor  [author] 14 Jul, 2018 @ 5:15pm
@dreamer_al_59 if you use the same keys you adjust your seat with while pressing the shift key the mirrors will go up and down, left and right. We don't point the mirrors, they are just dummy objects. Hope that helps.
dreamer_al_59 13 Jul, 2018 @ 12:24am
The mirrors in all cars, except Ford Falcon, point to the ground. I tried different settings as well as different tracks. Shame, as they look great :(
Feralarri 11 Jul, 2018 @ 7:57pm
Hi Stink, in response to below mate. Not sure where you got update 6.93 from but this was a league only update. This updates to v6.6 which was again a league fixed version. So I can suggest that you attempt to get 6.6 from the league where you got 6.93. Note you will have to uninstall 6.5 before installing 6.6. Ian endeavouring to get this all out eventually as a steam download but at the moment time is short. Hope this helps
FVRfactor  [author] 10 Jul, 2018 @ 1:23pm
Not sure where did the FG one come from as the FG should be installed already under the FGx anyway. Unless someone has done a modification I can't for the life of my think where that has come from. I'll check with the guys but seems an unusal increment. I'll come back to you this week.
Stink 10 Jul, 2018 @ 7:00am
@FlashQld In the RF2 Launcher in the content tab it says I have FVR V8Supercars FGx,MB,NA,VF,VO all 6.5 and installed and then FVR SUPERCARS FG 6.93 I try to install it says I need unknown base mod
FVRfactor  [author] 10 Jul, 2018 @ 5:09am
@Stink - I'm guessing you may have got the mod or an attachment elsewhere. We jumped from 6.2 to 6.5 and the version here is 6.5 to my knowledge as it was to say hey we have made a big leap. However I will double check my thoughts here. If you look in your content on the icon on your launcher and see what number your FVR cars are. I've checked my version and it is definitely 6.5
Stink 8 Jul, 2018 @ 5:48am
Hi i recently got this mod and I can play it in single player but when I try online it says FVR Supercars v6.93 requires unknown base mod to be installed just wondering where to get the base mod if this isn't it
FVRfactor  [author] 6 Jun, 2018 @ 4:46pm
@gsi_alex7 - we are working on a 2017 and 2018 update with the new ZB Holden which is almost complete apart from the wiper. This will bring in all the new bits and pieces and updates to the mod. If you look up FVRFactor on Facebook we have posted a few shots there of the ZB in progress. We have updated the physics utilising S397 upgrades so a lot of work has been done. The wiper and driver are on the next part of the to do list, just finalising a couple of faults beforfe moving to that stage.
gsi_alex7 6 Jun, 2018 @ 1:28pm
What about a working windscreen wiper for the Cars?
FVRfactor  [author] 18 Nov, 2017 @ 12:57am
@ Arthuro - what is your very question - you cannot fix the car hood or what?
@ Mu?????? - 2017 season is underway but the slacker doing ithasn't given me the files.
Zeussy 21 Oct, 2017 @ 10:34pm
2017 season?
Feralarri 30 Sep, 2017 @ 2:48pm
Website is still up at www.fvrmodding.com
OxCxDxSx 30 Sep, 2017 @ 1:30pm
hey FVR where did the website go?
HigginsonMEDIA88 12 Sep, 2017 @ 3:18am
DX11??
nipzon 27 Jul, 2017 @ 11:34pm
Thx for the update FlashQld, for a sec I thought it was the actual update :)
FVRfactor  [author] 27 Jul, 2017 @ 1:35pm
Hopefully going forward we have a few neat changes ins tore at FVR. They are just taking a little longer than normal due to old age and apathy. We're getting there though.
juanarg70 27 Jul, 2017 @ 12:36pm
Am I crazy for wanting this beautiful physics with the new TTV6 engine? Great cars!! Thank you
FVRfactor  [author] 23 Jul, 2017 @ 9:03pm
TxZeus - that has been looked at for the next update. Although it is in there we decided against it as the cars in real life don't seem to lose those parts so it wasn't a priority.
Zeussy 21 Jul, 2017 @ 7:37pm
Are you's ever going to add visual damage (bumpers coming off...so on)??
