Update please! If you could add the ability to find any planet type, that would be awesome. I'm currently searching every system for a molten world so I can build one of my mega structures.

Can you further update this MOD? Sometimes it's too difficult to find planets that I've noticed before, and it would be too convenient to directly search for planets

Is it possible to expand this search engine to star types and possibly existing megastructures?
Some mod megastructures require specific planet or star types. Which leaves me searching around. I can use the expansion planner for planet types, but not star types. And some play throughs end up with dozens of megastructures - I start to lose track of them all resulting in some underdeveloped.
The whole game really needs a more sophisticated search engine.

Would it be possible for you to add a feature allowing one to locate existing colonies to build and whatnot?

Is this mod compatible with latest version?

Bless be the heavens for this mod. It'll make making colonies easier.

Cool beans!

Now updated for 1.2! I;ve also added the ability to search for pre space flight civs as docflamingo suggested.

update please!
docflamingo 20 Jun, 2016 @ 10:23pm
Nice! Can this be done for finding pre-spaceflight races as well? They are hard to keep track of, especially if you first encounter them during brief scouting trips as I often do.

Thanks for the feedback, hopefully this tool will be helpful until a sortable ledger of planets is added to the base game!

@Verminator - It is possible to add searches for planets outside your borders, however I was reluctant to as it has the potential for clashes/problems in multiplayer. Although I may perhaps look at adding it as a single player only option.
JunZai 20 Jun, 2016 @ 6:00am
THANK YOU!!! Why isn't this in the base game omg

Finally used this mod, and it works Great. Didn't realize how many uses it had. Finding big planets you missed, rich planets you missed, planets with pre-sentients on them, etc... Very well written and professional looking and working. I'm impressed. Thanks again.

This is nice, very nice indeed. Now if only it would search for the nearest large planets just outside your border. That's probably impossible or very hard to do.

I mostly colonize to expand my borders, I don't do a lot of colonizing within my borders. But still, this does have it's uses. Thanks

Should be in the game since day 1 tbh...
BladeofSharpness 14 Jun, 2016 @ 1:00am
So it returns the biggest planet first, and then if rejected it goes down by size?
schnabbo 14 Jun, 2016 @ 12:11am
@the_nodmod: There is an ingame search for that on the lower right side (the third of the left side of the bar).
That way i find my planets. Way to often 2-3 times in different systems....
NoDMoD 13 Jun, 2016 @ 1:58pm
Can you make a planet search function for planet names? can never find the planets with factions on them.
knuckey333  [author] 13 Jun, 2016 @ 12:32pm
@Wookie - it is pretty much random which planets shows first, the only thing that it currently sorts on is planet size.
Smokytoks 13 Jun, 2016 @ 12:25pm
Would be awesome, going to test it right away !
Wookiee_MoNsTeR 13 Jun, 2016 @ 12:08pm
If this works as described, this will be a life saver.

I do have a question, how does it base what it shows first? Is it based on distance to your homeworld?
