There are quite a few things present in Individual arms that is not present in Arms and Shoulders. For that reason, and because I don't believe in taking down mods, Individual Arms will remain up and if for whatever reason this mod ever dissappears off of Steam, I give you all permission to share it. Just give me a shout out when you do.
It's a cosmetic mod.
Not sure if you're just super busy, have moved on to other things, or just don't feel like modding (any and/or all of which is completely understandable). But if you don''t plan on fixing the bugs I reported in back August I would like to fix them myself. Thus far I've had no luck getting models out of upk's and into an edittable state by myself.
The names and your description above are not very helpful on that =7
Other than that, this is a brilliant mod. Been waiting for it since the game came out. Great work =)
Is there a way to make it so the kevlar options (etc) stay when you upgrade to the next tier? I have the mod that does that for the vanilla kevlar armour, but unfortunately it doesn't incorporate your sleeves - so I've got to go back to using vanilla... I've poked around with the ini files but I really don't know what I'm looking for. Great work again :D
I'm not sure how I can help you there. There's no reason that should be happening.
@Nori Hunter
Sorry, but this mod is likely to stay as is. Doing this for one type of arm alone means I have to make four models (left/right & male/female) proceed to import them into the editor, go through and add textures to them, and make and link one archetype for each. It doesn't sound like much but believe me it quickly adds up and unlike the other mods I've made dealing with arms is hardly ever fun.
Awesome mod by the way, Before this I had to use symetrical kevlar arms, but this is way better.
Yup.
@Dragon32
Yeah, that's all correct.
Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\268500\705122565\lite - Anarchy's Children.txt
Subset of Standard Anarchy's Children. Excludes kitbashed arms (e.g. those from WAR suits etc.). Arms only available for Anarchy's Children torsos.
Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\268500\705122565\progressive version - previous tier options appear in higher level ones.txt
All arms (including kitbashes) available for armour torsos of the same tier or above (i.e. predator arms available for predator and warden armour, but not for kevlar). Not available for Anarchy's Children torsos.
Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\268500\705122565\progressive - Anarchy's Children.txt
All arms (including kitbashes) available for Anarchy's Children armour torsos of the same tier or above (i.e. predator arms available for predator and warden armour, but not for kevlar). Arms only available for Anarchy's Children torsos.
So, lemme see if I have the various configuration options right:
Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\268500\705122565\Config\XComContent.ini
Standard version. All arms (including kitbashes) available for standard torsos. Not available for Anarchy's Children torsos.
Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\268500\705122565\standard - Anarchy's Children.txt
As standard version but all arms set-up as being part of the Anarchy's Children DLC so the arms are only available for Anarchy's Children torsos.
Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\268500\705122565\lite version - no bashes.txt
Subset of Standard. Excludes kitbashed arms (e.g. those from WAR suits etc.) Not available for Anarchy's Children torsos.
Did you ad all the kevlar pieces ? left and right ?
Falcon's Uniform Manager as an alternative. It's more complex and currently not totally automatic to assign class uniforms but also has many more features and works well with this mod (at least it does for me).
This + Progressive Armor + Uniforms Manager = Full customization for your soldiers
If you have your torso set to an Anarchy's Children one the arms don't show for some reason. Just change to a vanilla/mod torso.
@BelowTheSun
That mod was last updated early February while Anarchy's Children came out in March. I suspect it hasn't been updated to make use of AC's seperate arms.
Saw that. That arm was never meant for females (it's a non-pauldron variant and the female arms Kevlar F was made from never had pauldrons unlike the male version). It's been removed in the next update.
@Lord Yanaek
What I meant is that if you want the arms to act like the PA mod, meaning stuff from tier 1 shows up with the tier 2 armor, then there's a config to make that happen. As for your other question I see you've also asked that in DLCBashes so I will address it there.
@Jsleezy
I'll see if that works and get back to you.
Mhh, so i need to change the config file used? Seems to work out of the box with PA but maybe i don't see all the options. Or is it only to keep the individual pieces of the kevlar for T2 and T3 armors?
Really nice work BTW now that i have seen the result in-game.
Any chance you can kit-bash the Resistance Armors so their pieces (torsos, arms, legs ...) can be used as options with regular kevlar and AC content. I never understood why Firaxis made them separate items with duplicate stats rather then customization.
As an aside, it looks like Firaxis intended to have the torsos display names. They're named like, Black Widow, Ram, Goblin, Gargoyle. Then there's Chryssalid Hunter Vest with Spiked Shoulders.
Now if you mean that I do this with arms from other mods, I can't. Not right now at least. I'd have to go and ask permission to edit their assets.
Like, adding individual models for an arm set from a mod.
@Natural Causes
Well I wasn't intending to do anything more than the vanilla models, so I'd say you still have a job.
@José
There are currently no plans for Advent arms.
@Lord Yanaek
No, not at all. This mod has a config that is designed to work in conjunctions with PA, it does not replicate it's other features at all.
@Boats McGoats lol i laughed way too long at that. That's my life at least once a week.
Does that mean i don't need Progressive Armor if i use this mod? Nothing wrong with PA but i would rather avoid duplicate features to keep my mod count as low as possible.
*crashes back to ground under weight of tons of extra gear*
*uninstalls some mods*
Been waiting a LONG time for this.
So. Good job, love your work.
