Does the bear trap work on zombies? If so, they can work on the NPC's from the mod WeekOne. In that case, would be awesome to use those traps. :steamhappy:

Dude, you're using a mod that hasn't been updated in 8 years and 7 major builds of the game. Do you really expect it would be working at this point?

Traps seem to only get activated by the player who's set them. I place a trap and i can get hurt by it, but if another players does step on it nothing happens. Has anyone found this error too?

The advanced gear that requires this doesn't work very well.

can't leave any feed back. None of the gun repair or cleaning kits work
unless it is purely vanilla. You can't use Advanced G.E.A.R with even a vanilla friendly mod that just improves the images and sounds kind of a huge let down.

The tools are a really nice feature. Though the canteens and other clothing options are dwarfed by peaches and sharks and other clothing and armor mods.

This is a good pvp mod, maybe can add more traps in the future, wonder if there's any mod that has bear traps for zeds :steamthumbsup:

Does anyone know a fix or workaround for this mod? Im trying to get advanced gear to work in multiplayer and have GEAR, advanced GEAR, the item API all installed but the items are not in the game even when checking as admin. As such i assume i need this mod but it gives me "cannot connect to server" every time i put it in. Love planagols mod but is it frustrating how he allows zero communication on his pages.

So do I need this for Advanced GEAR or not? Because that douchebag puts zero information on his mods which is infuriating because a lot of them sound cool on paper, but who the hell actually knows when there's no place for community input.

@tilarium Thank you for that! I was curious why this was required. Planetalgol doesn't mention why it's exactly needed for the mod.
On that note, since they specifically state that G.E.A.R. is mandatory, I take it this one isn't and if you add this then Advanced G.E.A.R. just fixes it and makes it work?

Because ADVANCED GEAR fixs this mod and makes them work and the author of that mod wanted them. The reason it's required is because the author doesn't steal assets from other mods, even dead ones, and so his fixes reference back to the files in this mod.

2A: bottom edge of the doors are up-gradable into a GUILLOTINE with various material or whatever. You could use that GUILLOdoor anywhere else on your walls, it could be its own trap idea itself.

3.OOH! Just a simple log suspended by rope? The one that swings down from the ceiling to bludgeon the intruder. It could do a bit of damage and/or knockback, but what I want it for is the guaranteed knockdown. It would preferably have too settings, sideways or long. They would deal the appropriately opposite(?) amounts of Targets/damage/knockback distance before being knocked down.I wanted to say that was just off the top of my head but it took about 40mins to articulate without sounding drunk as i am.

How about...
1: a wall panel with circular saws attached? They face blade out on one side and theres a choice(supplies willing) between 1-3 saw-blades per wall unit built. We could use them in our choke-point strategy to deal DPS... OH, and make them able to *slant* at an angle!

2. Curved walls, indestructible and theres two other variants. One circular wall unit that is basically a ramp or stairs leading over the wall and the other with a door, but those ones that slide UP to open and can be snapped shut by some mechanism. Maybe increasing tiers of mechanisms, becoming more complex even? This one kinda got away from me, its to build a circular "Pit" trap, the bait being a boom-box over a megaphone in the center as the lure. What you do with'em once its full is NONE of my business...

these traps would be cool idea for zombies aswell to slow and temp hold them in a spot..make em fall apart after x amount of times stepped on idk id love to have things like this as an option

Hi. About 5y ago I made an attempt of creating a craftable zombie trap. I was inspired mainly by traps from 7 Days To Die game I was also playing. My attempt failed obviously as I didn't know a bunch about Lua or how to write any code at all, started to learn but then my daughter was born and i couldn't find time anymore. I truly would like to have traps system in the game as it would benefit many players if not all.
Having graves now in PZ would make an opportunistic attempt to craft spike pit placing sharpened wooden stick in the grave and boom trap is ready. sadly I have no idea how to make it possible but you may have enough knowledge in coding and willing to try.

give me some ideas about what kind of traps would work on zombies and I might make/update mod
though keep in mind zombie objects are not saved / reloaded when out of cell. this means if I mark a zombie and say it is trapped or cant move etc. when you leave cell or quit game then come back, a new zombie is just spawned, rather than loading old zombies.
this is part of the game engine, so if you lock up a white male zombies in a room, then leave and come back, it may turn into a female black zombies next time you leave/comeback from other cell or rejoin game.
while that kind of machanice is part of the game engine kind of destroys any change to make a zombie "trapping" trap, we could still make traps that damage/injure zombies

it was just meant for players, or NPCs not zombies
IRL i dont think a nail trap would do anything to a zombie (if zombies could be real IRL)
a bear trap might turn one into a crawler, but that would not be a good thing

Also perhaps a shotgun trap that will lodge a bullet in (a group) of players with a similar effect with zombies but killing them.

Pretty good for MP PvP and any of the survivors mods. Still, would be good for zombies. An idea for the bear and spike trap for zombies: Bear traps will turn any zombie that steps on it into a crawler and put that zombie near death, and spike traps will weaken and slow down a zombie that steps on it. The spike trap should also have multiple uses due to how useless it is.

Really hoped these would've helped against Zombies :( really the implementation isn't that hard. Bear traps could keep zombies stuck in place, nail traps could slow them down significantly and possibly have a chance at keeping them stuck in place. A nail wall would be effective and could potentially kill a Zombie considering their tendency to bash their heads against walls.

I would like to have even some non lethal traps that hold zombies in place. Mostly trying to find ways to aid my deaf characters and buying more time for me to spot them
