lol - np - I'm working at getting a scrap-scavenge world setup for a DS - trying to make it user friendly :)

Okay, that wasn't so bad to fix! Bit of a walk down memory lane. Also found out that it's sketchy adding a block to an existing variant + menu (such as if I added this to the default battery+.) So the block just shows up under the "power" tab as originally intended!

I remembered trying to get that to work for far too long until I eventually gave up on it. So thanks again for pointing that out. A six year old mystery solved!

Aaaah, that completely sounds like something I would have done. That always kinda bugged me that it didn't show up there. I might have a crack at correcting that (if I still have the right files and everything to update it.)

I was using Origin_Alpha_43's variant and it looks like BlockCategories.sbc needs the slashes flipped from \ to / to get it to show up in the G-Menu:

i love this! can i tweak this with credit to function as a reactor that uses power cells (think a battery pack you have to slap AA batteries into) lol

right? Your ship is screwed... because your last battery just got shot... you happen to have one battery cell in your inventory... slap a battery on the wall turn off the thrusters and keep firing you fools!

@Indigo Night - If you can figure out how to use the model, absolutely go for it! It was quite a while ago that I hacked it together with blender, so I'd have to boot up the old computer or dig through my usb drives to see if I still had the blender model if the mod download wasn't enough.

(It's just the space engineers battery item merged with the button terminal. There was something about mounting points in a tutorial from Shoustul or Harag, but I don't remember exactly how that worked.)

@Aggressor Hey thanks for the compliment! (I've been on tractor planting for about a week, so not seen my computer in a while.) Last I actually played Space Engineers was a few months ago, so I kinda just wait for a comment to show up saying crap is broken.

Of course if something major does break with it, I'm kinda out'a luck fixing it. But I've not had anything that just needs taken down (or slapped with a disclaimer,) so that's nice.

No matter if mod works or not but modder got big + from me for not ignoring people in comments.

Most of not working mods are abandoned and creators dont give a sh... to provide information about mod status or if they will keep working on it or not.

@Thundercraft. I booted up space engineers to see if this was still working. (My goodness, the G-menu looks so different.)

This mod appeared to be working for me. I'm not a 100% certain that it works on a different computer (if Keen changed anything that would impact downloads.) It's been so long since I've messed with it I wouldn't know how to fix any errors if there were any!

-Power capacity seemed right, it lit up the light on the grid, collision was there, and the little K-menu button worked as well.

-Sadly the battery doesn't appear to show up in the G-menu, but if you search "battery" it will should up. Also, it looks like there is a new small battery in-game, so this might only help with getting a "boot-up charge" to a large grid.

Nice mod. I find it helpfull with manipulation mod. Any plan to make collision/hit box smaller so i can use it with rotor head.

I use your mod, but maybe I was misunderstanding it: I expected to use the F button to recharge my suit when being in front of it. But no F option is offered.

Can you add that option? Just asking.

@Altus , sorry for a late reply. This should be rechargable just like a standard battery. Just smaller. It also will start with a little bit of inital charge if you just grind it and "replace" the power cells.

And it's not nostalgia btw, it's r e a l l y not nostalgie, it's just I find the new designs horrible and uselessly complex for no reason (engineer mind) and I don't underdstand how anyone can like them..

The old ones were so simple as to be beautiful, now nobody would even try to build a single block cuz they are so complex (unpractical a.f.) and take hours to build. No one would bother to build them, let alone a space engineer coping with low resources and energy lol

I won't be able to fix anything with the model (lacking source files as well as the programs to edit them at the moment). Any specs/CubeBlocks issues I should be able to fix though.

@space_artist_4real I'm sorry, but I recently had to switch to a new PC after a computer failure. The old saves (along with most of my other files) were lost in the switch. I will look to see if I have it on one of my old backups or flashdrives and I will upload a backdated model if I can find it!

Um, I know it can seem stupid, but can you upload your mod with the model it had before the beta change?

I can't stand the new style, so I use mods that replace every model with the alpha ones, but your battery is a separate block, so it would be nice if you could put out another mod with the alpha model (that looked so good), as your wall mounted battery is extremely useful :)

(P.S. I couldn't figure out how to get the emmisives or textures to apply. Whenever the new block textures come out, the system for doing so will probably change anyways, in which case I will definitely look into updating.)

The control panel is made to be gray, to keep with the temporary/practical-use-only design. I like to think a Space Engineer would use the control on their arm for some things :P

Oh, and in regards to allowing you to make versions of this mod, it's really so simple it would be a shame to slap a "Patent" on it. Two things: If you re-upload, make sure you actually change something, and of course put a link back here. If it's for personal use and set to private in the workshop, eh, pirate however you see fit!

@jb_aero Sorry for he late reply, but yeah, I could do that. If I made it to where you could reclaim the power cell, it would conflict with the thing about it starting with charge (the main purpose of this mod), but it is still possible. Give me just a bit to look at the mod you were talking about and I'll see what I can do there.

You can now force battery to charge but mark x Recharge, my system are little diffent whit lots of stuff so im not shure if working whitout, some batterys discharge more then other in my system.

@Clanner Jake, (and everyone else) UH OH. Not sure if it has always been this way or one of the updates broke it, but the Recharge should be fixed. Hopefully this did not break too many survivals. Sorry! (and thanks for the heads up!)

i'm on stable and it ain't recharging because it has no set max recharge rate.
