Ukrainians aren't "Russians of the borderlands" - it's just Moscow propaganda.
"Kraina" means "Country" in Ukrainian and "U" = "In". So Ukraina means "In Country"
And Ukrainians had never been "Russians" - Ukrainians are Ruthenians.

I have released my own version of this mod @ https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3310027356 -- it's the same idea and based on this mod, but unlike the pure 1.5 port linked below, this one intends to be actively maintained by yours truly. (i.e. it will have bug fixes and new features added.)
