@RealityMachina, would you happen to know if this mod still works with WOTC?

I am going to try it out as I do not play with the integrated DLC option on and instead prefer the original missions.

RM, do you or anyone else know how to disable the intimidate effect on ruler armors (the one that makes vipers panic when they see the serpent suit etc)?

I can't find a mod for that nor can I find where in the ini files it is (I bet it is worded in such a way that I will never find it using search words), and I really don't like that effect because I think it is a pure cheat.

Which is a damn shame because ruler armors look so cool, I don't want to have to leave them out just because of something like this.

Thank you thank you thank you! My whole party was being destroyed by just the Ruler! A turn between each soldier actions so early on is ridiculous!

WotC's "Integrated DLC" option seems to make it so that rulers only show up after you assault a facility with them guarding (it makes it clear when a ruler is guarding a facility, too), I fought the Viper King twice, once when I attacked a facility and then once during Avenger Defense ... never saw him again, nor any of the others since I had no need to attack alien facilities.

Maybe its me but the rulers seem to have disappeared after I fought the viper king once in the story mission. I'm currently in the month of august in my latest playthrough

@Kunovega Yes I tried with tier3 gear, and the rulers are just to weak even with that mods. What I would to like its Rulers with more HP and armor, to compensate the fight against Colonels with plasma and Powered armor.
I think the game already have so many things in the early stage, and almost nothing new in the late game.

@highlander There are other mods that make the rulers stronger: heal between missions if they escape, immune to DOTs, immune to repeater (insta kill) etc.

As for when they show up, this mod already delays them a bit; but in any game even without this mod you could simply leave the story mission turned on and not do it until you want them to come. This mod really only has a major change to the game timing if you were playing without the storyline mission turned on.

If you are already waiting till final tech of gear upgrades to trigger that mission, the rulers are already trivial unless you use some of the mods that improve them

Its possible a mod to delay to mid/late game and get stronger Rulers?
Just to make late game more interesting.

Great mod! But I actually had my first Viper King on a mission with my first Viper, first Berserker Queen appeared 3-4 missions later and Archon King appeared 2-3 weeks before 1st Archon. So it's not really consistent. I'm looking forward to try this mod on my new campaign! :)

Thanks for this mod. :) Got tired of Rulers debuting right at the same time as the generic enemies of the same type; it's really immersion-breaking for a first playthrough! Especially the dialogues where the characters are referring to the enemy type as if it's familiar, when they've never seen it before...

Alternatively there's a mod called Modable Ruler Turns which allows you to change how they react, such as them only getting a reaction on violent actions, not every single thing a trooper does, or only having a chance to react, not a guaranteed turn.
Dragon32 10 Jul, 2016 @ 3:03am
@ It was me,Dio!???: Look for a mod called Rulers Take Normal Turns
Yipikaye 9 Jul, 2016 @ 9:46pm
Is it possable to mod out the feature of them moving after every action?
All-a-Mort 9 Jul, 2016 @ 12:26pm
Oh I see, thanks. I wasn't sure what would happen if the Ruler's story was active but I ignored the mission (though I am delaying the Spark one by choice). Oh well, I suppose I can look forward to being murdered by a Bezerker Queen in a handful of missions.
RealityMachina  [author] 9 Jul, 2016 @ 11:07am
@All-a-Mort if you simply turned off the story mission they purely follow their force level and chance spawn mechanics, you actually want the story mission on if you want to delay them as long as possible (since then the mission never expires, and rulers won't be able to spawn until the mission is completed.)

If you actually disabled the DLC in Steam though, weird.

Useful. I had an unpleasant surprise of the Viper King appearing in the very first mission in which I encountered Vipers, which was odd considering I had the Alien Hunters DLC turned off.
