A very fun civ to play as; It's aggressive enough to force me (generally a goody-two-shoes when I play this game) to conquer and murder and pillage. Just gotta let the other civs fill in the map with cities first.

A note: Yes, you can go Liberty and get a free settler, but please do not fix this! Also, please don't fix the ability to destroy and rebuild altars, because this was my only way of combating the Lich king at full steam - in other games, it usually takes 3-4 civs all together to wage war against him. My complete army had about 12 succubi along with the Guardian, and I was waging war on two fronts.

I personally think that even if this civ gets a second/third city, it's still balanced. They have a functional economy in late-game if they have at least one other city to take advantage of city connection bonuses like resource movement and such. The Assassin's Guild ends up getting trounced usually because they don't seem to fucntion like Venice as they're supposed to.

Just a suggestion for another mod, maybe a mercenaries group and a goblin group? the goblins would be able to build really quick but are really weak while mercenaries would be over powered but take a long time to make and have higher maintainence.

Cool mod. I did a test against the AI to try and kill them I used a super heroes mod and set two teams one vanilla and the other moded against them. I fought one war that ended in a stalemate. The AI for some reason did not get the Guardian of the underworld. Btw I started in industrial age. Infantry by themselves could easily deal with Succubus. the AI chose Order and surprissed me by having multiple cities. I will do another test soon with less mods.

Loving the GFC civs! Keep them coming! :D Any plans for an Ent civ? It seems like they get neglected a lot in Fantasy settings.

Anyway, great work!

Was the concept of this civ by any chance inspired by Endless Legends Cultist faction? Because they're my absolute favorite.

Possible bug: Set to deity, had second settelr and founded City 2. Also may have gone Liberty and succeeded in getting a free settler, founding another City 2 after I deleted the first.

Hey look! It's the Bloodthirster!

With this civ I just built Summoning Altars and sold them to rebuild them to gain an army of Succubi. That along with the Terracotta Army I had an unstoppable army by turn 100

@Super Salto I have the same but i am playing as the Dune Dwellers.
I assume this is just a bug with the building being available to all the civs.
Modrian 17 Jul, 2016 @ 9:32am
Play note: Cultist have loophole that allows a second city if they choose Liberty Social path. And boy, if you though the Undead were aggressive, you should see these guys. At one point, they had 6 other Civs at war with themselves. Also confirm ability to buy Summoning Altar with Faith, although very expensive (faith-wise).

Found a bug with either the Centaur Bandits or the Cultists.
Playing as the Centaur Bandits, I'm able to purchase the Summoning Altar with faith, but not build it. The Cultists are in the game, and I'm assuming that that's why the option is present, but I'll look more into it.

Is that a Bloodthirster that I'm seeing? How did you pull that off? :steamhappy:
Lovabledingo 12 Jul, 2016 @ 1:52pm
Getting Enemy Blade on your Guardian seems to be a slap in the face.....
Xangelo7 12 Jul, 2016 @ 7:02am
Can you change the cultists culture because when I using R.E.D. The cultist are using African skin.
hgh1970 12 Jul, 2016 @ 4:42am
@.chalaux
It must be.
If u play the Venice civ.
There u cannot gain the Liberty settler. For the settler u get the special unit.
I hope u find this and u can fix it for this civ here and ur Assasins
8ozz 11 Jul, 2016 @ 4:52pm
If your going to remove the free liberty settler. Could you add some sort of unique unit you get instead? maybe another "Guardian of the Underworld" unit?
xalauch  [author] 11 Jul, 2016 @ 1:52pm
@MORROGANDER Yeah that sounds great, but I have no idea how to do that...

@hgh1970 Thank you! I know about that Liberty settler, if I find out how to remove it I will.
hgh1970 11 Jul, 2016 @ 6:06am
i play this one, and i can annex citys.
the hole game mistake is that u can get 1 settler by culture. But ok this happens allways.
The demon is rly strong and the sukubus are funny to see how they fight.
I cannot see any mistakes right now.
Btw i use all ur civ mods.
With this it looks good balanced.
MORROGANDER 11 Jul, 2016 @ 5:23am
What about Cannot gain settlers,Cannot annexe cities, Cannot purchase from puppet cities. Gain large amount of extra unhappiness(like 30-50 per city?) from puppet cities, which force players to burn their cities down.
instead conquering a city will gain huge amount of every yields(300-3000? scaling with era?)
killing units gain small amount of faith(to summon demons,15-30 for early game?) or other yields too.
To expand this civ, player gotta constantly raze and kill everything he sees, frankly that's the only god damn income...
xalauch  [author] 10 Jul, 2016 @ 2:24pm
Yep you are right. Now annexing cities will be possible, but not producing settlers, which means there must be conquest involved to expand this civ. Problem about traits is I'm very limited by what already exists in the game database. I've no idea how to make them gain gold by razing cities down, I guess I'd have to write some lua script but don't know the codes for that.
MORROGANDER 10 Jul, 2016 @ 2:16pm
No economy bonus from razing city? I mean, developing economy by puppet cities isn't like cultists, much like venice merchants. Developing economy by razing cities and destroying everything is what those demon summoners do!
xalauch  [author] 10 Jul, 2016 @ 1:58pm
@Rabid Mongoose Well I don't think a cult goes out to establish new cities, it just doesn't make sense to me. I wanted to make it feel like Mordor or something like that, a very strong and fortified capital that builds huge armies to simply destroy everything; they don't care about politics, culture or lands, all they want is mayhem and destruction, this civ is meant to represent that.
Rabid Mongoose 10 Jul, 2016 @ 1:43pm
don't know that cant build Annex is a real breaker y not make it simple cannot found. Plus cool idea for city is maybe like the touhou civ name it after name for hell or something like Infernium, or Dis, or Makai, or something interersting like that
