It's not modeled from a specific building, but it's similar to a lot of round Greek temples called tholos.

Updated it last night to include LOD and fixed the issue with the disappearing dome while viewing from inside.

Hey thanks for the constructive criticism! I didn't know a whole lot about what I was doing, but I'm working on the LOD model now and I'll look into the see-through-the-bottom issue.

it's weird to critisize a nice object when having no real 3d-modelling skills at all, but you should really add an lod-model to that object. because it is so round, it looks awful from far away. the game generated lod can't handle complex and round objects.
and the dome itself is see-through when "standing" under it. i am not sure what causes that of course, but as far as i know now, that has something to do with the "normals". i really hope that this is no bullshit-diagnosis ;)
