i am lousy at mases but i managed to finish this one. the glass made it more difficult to distinguish openings. very nice!

It's not hard at all, it simply takes a bit of time.
Thank you for the enjoyable map.
ArctixSnowPup 17 Feb, 2016 @ 2:15pm
@Genoisis Nice. I have played portal 1 and 2 multiple times, but never really touched on the idea of custom maps. Although I probably can't create anything good, I for sure can test out custom maps.
Geneosis  [author] 17 Feb, 2016 @ 12:35pm
@Redtail: In the game there is a menu to find workshop maps, in the same menu you have an option to create maps too :)
ArctixSnowPup 17 Feb, 2016 @ 12:20pm
@Geneosis Wow, I like the determination. How does it work? I mean how does one create these maps/addons?
Geneosis  [author] 17 Feb, 2016 @ 2:29am
@Redtail: Well thanks for subscribing and good luck :p When the ingame map editor came out I spent like an entire summer holiday creating maps so you should have stuff to play for days X)
ArctixSnowPup 16 Feb, 2016 @ 5:30pm
Oh my god. Users can create custom maps?? Once I get my gaming pc. The first thing I am doing is creating a let's play of Custom Portal Maps! Your maps are the first on my list. Honestly, cannot wait to play them!

a fun map with some nice tricks. I like the effect of a glass maze, it adds an odd dimension that makes it both easier and yet more confusing at the same time. I made one of my own too, which is actually what prompted someone to tell me about this map
krikritof 2 Oct, 2014 @ 10:49am
Arf je sèche, quelque chose doit m'échapper, je n'arrive pas à atteindre le 2ème étage :/
RedPil 18 Jun, 2013 @ 10:31am
Yes, really funny maze, this is rare imo for a maze.
Thanks for this one too :)
Traveler807 13 Jun, 2013 @ 4:35am
Very nicely designed maze, was rather lost for quite a while:)
| \_/ () 13 May, 2013 @ 2:13pm
one of THE BEST maze levels ever!
Geneosis  [author] 2 Mar, 2013 @ 11:12am
Yep, when in the editor it's pretty hard to visualise what is where X) I think I was able to do it because I had in mind the exact path of the maze ^^

For the rest, I'm glad to know that the Maze Lord (or maybe his buff00n :p) appreciate this one ^^

@all maze fans : You will love buff00n's workshop ;)
buff00n 1 Mar, 2013 @ 11:04pm
Now this is my kind of map. It must look like an absolute mess in the editor. I had one moment of "where the heck haven't I gone yet" on the second floor, but other than that it went pretty smoothly. I love the fact that from the start you can see pretty much everything that you need to do, just not how to get there.

If anyone else likes mazes then I have a series of them .
Rei 19 Dec, 2012 @ 8:55am
Wow, that was beautyful! I love it! Not too hard but kind of challenging the same time!
Had some trouble, to get the Franken into it's destination, but that's the pain with the Frankens anyway, eh?
CU at another one of my maps. :)
NiclO (- - ) 18 Oct, 2012 @ 1:31pm
I'm almost there, i have played your easy collection, medium and i am a few maps into your hard collection now. So impossible is right after that :D

Did you try my map Nr4 with the updates? Would like to know what you think about it.
Geneosis  [author] 18 Oct, 2012 @ 1:24pm
Well if you want more info about some well known and easy to use glitches, I suggest trying my Impossible maps collection :p
NiclO (- - ) 18 Oct, 2012 @ 12:09pm
Really good map. I dont really like that its so much glass cus for some reason it bugs out my eyes to try and look through it. But very good difficulty. Fun puzzle. I got so lost on the upper floor, that was fun.

And I had never heard about portal bumbing before, wow that is SO exploitable (fun!). I didn't use it to solve this puzzle but it would have helped a lot.
Geneosis  [author] 26 Sep, 2012 @ 7:48am
Je sais pour le portal bump glitch... Mais bon la salle aurait été moche si j'avais tenté d'ajouter des lumières ou des surfaces noires pour prévenir ça ^^ Donc tan pis... Et quel est le problème avec la pièce du Franken Cube ?
zazaza 24 Sep, 2012 @ 8:54am
i liked this! :) it's been a long time since i've solved a real maze, and this was a good one. Also, i loved the franken solution :D nice work.
Geneosis  [author] 21 Sep, 2012 @ 11:07am
Oh, sorry about that -_-"
Kry 20 Sep, 2012 @ 8:48pm
Awesome! My cubes legs got stuck though, so i had to restart.
Geneosis  [author] 10 Sep, 2012 @ 1:24pm
I know... I know since I know portal bump exists XD
UnableRogue 10 Sep, 2012 @ 12:37am
Do you know how hard that was for me to do that map without portal bumping??
Geneosis  [author] 12 Aug, 2012 @ 1:33pm
Well if you want some training with walking Franken Cubes (and if you are a very patient person!) I suggest trying my Franken Temple ;)
stormsend 12 Aug, 2012 @ 1:09pm
The walking Frankencube is a new concept to me and I just never think of it when I need it. I'll be watching out from now on and use that to my advantage. Thanks
Geneosis  [author] 12 Aug, 2012 @ 12:01pm
Well... I may think about somthing to avoid cube drops ^^"
stormsend 12 Aug, 2012 @ 11:56am
two portals, shoulder against the button, fling and hope for the best. try it.
Geneosis  [author] 12 Aug, 2012 @ 4:29am
@tedwilliams4808 : Hem... How were you able to put the normal cube after the light bridge -_- The idea was to use a walking Franken Cube to go on the other side of the laser field ^^"
stormsend 12 Aug, 2012 @ 3:01am
I came back to see if it was as difficult as the first time and I still wandered looking for the way. Still enjoyed it. I guess it's the difficulty level I'm most comfortable with. I put the Franken Cube on the center button and the weighted cube behind the light bridge. Rather hard but thats the way I thought it was supposed to go. I found no gliches. :)
Geneosis  [author] 8 Aug, 2012 @ 11:06am
Glad you liked it ^^ And usefull hints you have there ;)
? 8 Aug, 2012 @ 11:02am
Excellent chamber, easily one of the best in the workshop. I do have to warn the player that this map will take you at least 15 minutes (or maybe upwards of a half hour). This is not an insanely difficult level, though it is challenging.

Hints, in order of how desperate you are:
1. Make sure you view the dotted lines through the glass
2. Solve the sphere and reflector cube first.
3. Cubes can pass through laser fields.
8MMW 7 Aug, 2012 @ 12:27pm
Dancing Cubes or what? :) Well, it may be used as countdown mechanism or so.
And it's interesting that you can turn it any angle, not only 90, 180 ...
Geneosis  [author] 7 Aug, 2012 @ 12:21pm
OMG this trick is working to orient Franken Cubes?? O_o
A big thank to you guy =D I will probably be able to make works some weird mechanism I imagined but was not working because I wasn't able to rotate them :p
Will add your map again to the list ^^
8MMW 7 Aug, 2012 @ 12:07pm
@Geneosis - about the Franken Cube, I've just discovered that (might come in handy later)
right click on franken cube > change type to reflecting cube > rotate any angle you want > change type back to Franken.

BTW could you check my "Descending" map again - made a lot of changes today :)
Geneosis  [author] 7 Aug, 2012 @ 8:01am
Well, you were not able to place the Franken Cube? If so the idea is to place it on the floor so that it will walk to the funnel while you desactivate the light bridge by pressing the button on the wall ;)
1980 7 Aug, 2012 @ 6:44am
I was completely defeated by this puzzle. I managed to get 4 items and placed only 3 ones on their button. But never does it seems that I can find the way to take the last cube. Too messy, distracting and confusing :P
Geneosis  [author] 7 Aug, 2012 @ 5:54am
Well building it in the editor was really messy X) As you can only place glasses sticked to a wall, that was a real pain in the ass to make the 4 levels of the maze without breaking the other parts ^^" But about the expected path and places to go, I almost know it perfectly :p So I am rarely lost in my own maze ;)

I hope the franken cube thing will not be a problem... I found this method to force player placing each cube/ball in the expected receptor ^^
And sadly you can't orient the direction of Franken Cubes in the editor -_-

8MMW 7 Aug, 2012 @ 3:06am
It took some time to finish, but it's great! I liked the 3 dimension character of the maze, plus it looks fine with all the glass walls in such a small space. Didn't you get lost while building it? :)

About the Franken Cube - first i tried to make it walk at the wall button :), but laser field (which cubes can pass through) and square button over the funnel were enough hints to find the solution.

I don't know if it's possible, but you could turn the franken cube 90 deg so it would go along the corridor (in which it already is). Players that don't know the trick of walking cube would get a hint seeing it walk.
Geneosis  [author] 27 Jul, 2012 @ 5:48pm
Well so I will upgrade the dufficulty to Hard ^^ I really don't imagine how difficult it is because I know the path perfectly X) Glad you enjoyed it anyway ;) And yes you sould use the fact that Franken Cubes can walk to finish, but I hop players will not get stuck because of that ^^
mood3rd 27 Jul, 2012 @ 12:17pm
good map
& I remembered franken cubes will walk in the direction they are facing,
which was very helpfull, when we swaped places.
I got to the exit with out trying. (early on, but was closed)
when finished every thing else, could not remember how to return to exit.
traveled in circles, every where exept ground, for ages.
then realised. if I got there early, what level I would probably have been on.
I am very confident, without a shadow of a doubt, that if I play again,
I will still get lost.
all elements logical & easy.
if testers don't know the trick with the franken cube,
they could stack the weighted cube & reflector cube,
then throw the franken cube through the lasser field,
glass maze very hard.
well done.
Geneosis  [author] 22 Jul, 2012 @ 3:25pm
@baadrix : Thanks for trying it again!

@tedwilliams4808 : Glad you liked it, will try your when I have a moment ;)
stormsend 22 Jul, 2012 @ 3:22pm
really good. i thought i knew mazes. i nearly died wandering around those corridors. i made a glass maze before i found yours. it's not sophisticated like yours but try it if you like. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=83797938
Baadrix 21 Jul, 2012 @ 7:13am
I like this version much better. The tricky puzzle instead of cube stacking is more 'Portal-y' IMHO. :)
Geneosis  [author] 20 Jul, 2012 @ 5:12am
Added your maps to the list ^^
Ebbzylon 19 Jul, 2012 @ 5:41pm
Yeah, hear ya. Similarly, it is how we pass by "bugs" in our maps while testing them, because we have that imprinted solution in mind, and just can't see all the alternatives.
If you got time to visit back my workshop, have a shot at one of my triple-T troubled brothers: "Tenacity, "Twisted", and "Trickster".

cheers
Geneosis  [author] 19 Jul, 2012 @ 5:30pm
The problem here is that I know perfectly my own maze XD So I can hardly imagine how strange/weird/difficult it will seems for players ^^"
Ebbzylon 19 Jul, 2012 @ 5:19pm
Ouch! I was starting to develop a migraine! But I resisted all the way the urge to glitch my way back to the exit, and finally made it!
And I thought my map "Asylum" could be confusing! lol
Thumb up
Geneosis  [author] 19 Jul, 2012 @ 3:25am
Merci ^^ N'hésite pas à tester d'autres maps de mon workshop si t'as un moment ;)
Koala 19 Jul, 2012 @ 1:46am
super map, facile mais tellement ingénieux.
