I'm glad it wasn't too easy! It's a bit trickier to leave from the airfield because it takes a while to figure out what you need to do to escape from there while the endless zombies spawn so the fallback is designed to be more straightforward.

Was pretty fun did almost get stuck at the airfield due to the constant spawning zombies in such large numbers until we just booked it with cars to drive back to old nato crates then to the fall back location to get out via one the two heli gunships.

For any others lost or confused the airfield has a bunch of cars and even a armored vehicle with fuel but idk where else to go with them but the fallback point which has the 2 heli gunships. Would like to know more if anyone else knows.

Thanks! I'm glad everything still works as intended lol. It's supposed to stop telling you where to go at that point because you have multiple fairly obvious options. If I recall correctly there's something like 5-7 vehicles you can use to escape from the airport or fallback point.

AMAZING! this was the best mission i ever played. the onlything i wished was different was after the big explosion where the military is shooting at the zombies, it stops telling you where to go. maybe i did something wrong, but after that i went to the airport then to the fallback point and flew away from there

.... Nevermind: i had a mod mismatch on the server.
Now i fixed it and all is well.
(i used the PBO from my C:\Users\<user>\Documents\Arma 3 - Other Profiles\<profile>\Saved\steamMPMission folder)

Hi, i can play this when hosting a local server.
If i download it on linux dedicated (steamCMD) i can rename the downloaded legacy<numbers>.bin to .pbo and i can select it.
However, the slot selection screen remains empty and the server log sys, its missing the descriptin.ext header.
un-pboing the file expands an empty description.ext file.

any chance to get the sources or pbo directly?

Don't play this in singleplayer, even if you plan to play alone. Host a LAN server in multiplayer. You'll see the mission in yellow text under the Tanoa map.

Thanks everyone for sharing this mission with your friends, rating it on the workshop, and leaving feedback to improve it through many small updates. I was planning to make more immersive, atmospheric zombie missions like this but I've moved on in life. This version of TZE is stable and all remaining reported bugs are problems with the vanilla game that I can not fix. There will be no future updates to the mission. I took a lot of pride in the detail that went into making this and to me it's a work of art. I hope everyone enjoys the experience of playing it for the first time as much as I did.

Yes, some areas have large hordes while others trickle in zombies. This is not free-roam so as long as you stick to the mission route you will encounter almost constant pressure.

Very, very good mission! Was a blast to play with 6 friends working together using Task Force Radio and ACE. Loved how challenging the mission was, even with 6 people. Please make more!

Interesting, some people have the issue with zombies not spawning while for others the mission works great. I haven't been able to replicate the problem on my own or in servers with friends, yet I've never resubscribed to the Z&D Mod.

Thanks for the info masterskop, if anyone finds that zombies still don't spawn after resubscribing to the zombie mod, please let me know. Usually I'm able to find bugs in my missions easily but there's nothing I did in the editor or scripts that could cause the problem. It is most likely a compatibility error between the ArmA3 version and Z&D Mod.

Not all zombies spawn. I'll try to make a map soon and put zombies on it to see if they work. I've started this map in the editor and played it in mp via the editor. It does work to a point.

I wanted to get back to you as quickly as possible so I just did a very quick test.

Hosting a server on the Internet so that friends could join, I played the mission solo about 1/4 through. The zombies behaved normally for me. Make sure you're playing this in multiplayer, not singleplayer scenarios.

There was recently a large Z&D mod update plus the Jets DLC came out. There may be compatability issues somewhere that I couldn't find. I'm doing my best to get this mission running so you and your friends can enjoy the mission.

I intentionally stopped giving waypoints after arriving near the airport. If I gave waypoints, finding an extraction vehicle would be too easy. By that point you should have picked up a map already so you are able to see the two areas which have air units.

Duncemaster I purposely adjusted the weather and time settings to make the night relatively bright so that flashlights weren't needed and running in the woods would be dark. It keeps players out of the woods and forces them to stick to the road and open areas. I also wanted it to be dark in a few short areas to add to the "horror" aspect. If you're having trouble seeing even when you're in more open areas, that sounds like your monitor produces a darker image. I know that one of the monitors I have on another computer does that. Besides the island, the car pileup at the church, and the approach into the swamps, everything should be bright enough to see.

I think the lack of at least weapon flashlights is immersion breaking. Can't see fuck all without jacking up contrast. Even just one or two would be good so people playing solo or co-op could see what they are getting into.

Works great played it a few times now since you released it, is there a way to set it so there are multiple scenarios so we dont spawn in same spot everytime and the path isnt the same each time, if you can do that it would be awesome but even if you can still awesome and fun mission dude.

Thanks for the feedback Splenda. I'm aware of the issue with taking items from AI inventories and it's not something I can fix. It is either arma or the Z&D mod because there's nothing I did which could have caused the problem. The only bug I'm aware of which is my fault is related to what you mentioned and it involved not being able to pick up uniforms because of the player's faction. Unfortunately, if I swapped the playable faction with another then the dynamic I created between zombies and AI would be broken. In other words, the mission wouldn't work. I delayed release for a week trying to find a solution or workaround but none were available. Blame arma not allowing players to pick up clothing of other factions. That's why when a player respawns with a CSAT uniform they can't pick up the one they started the mission with.

Hi Black Bear .Being play with Iron will over that last few days.Amazing mod and best zombies and atmosphere Iv seen to date.Well done.Seems to be a small bug where sometimes you cant take from the inventory of AI and if you remove your uniform,backpack or vest to take the ai's you cant take anything until you respawn.Other then that we havent noticed any other issues.Look forward to the next one.

That's odd Mr Panda. Is someone else hosting? You may have issues connecting to the server. If you're on a dedicated server then something may be amiss there as well. Make sure the only mod you're running is for Z&D.

If doing a computer restart and maybe verifying your game files doesn't work, I don't really know what to tell you. This mission has run on many people's private sessions without a problem so this is likely something that is wrong on your end. I didn't add any special scripts that would lead me to believe that I've somehow locked character slots under certain circumstances.

I'm sorry you're unable to play this. As a last ditch effort, you could ask a friend to host a server and maybe it will work. Good luck!
