any chance you can make other custom food typesfor example if you mix bread water and perhaps other types of combos you get something diff like pizza or who knows what maybe hotdogs donuts? sky is the limit.

oh, I love unagi rolls, with avocado--good idea.

Not that difficult acutally there are a few guides if you like and i'd be happy to walk you through the basics. If you like. I had an idea from your comments to use the level II well model and make an eel farm. Then create a meal in the stovetop for unagi-don. If you want to give that a try i'd be happy to give some instructions.

I saw that one, it also looks good.

When you have time to work on it, I'd be happy to help you come up with ideas. I don't know how to mod the game, yet, but I'd like to get involved with that, at some point. I don't have a lot of experience with modding, in general, though...The only game I've modded successfully, so far,
is Dwarf Fortress, which is really straight-forward, so I'm not sure about a game like this one...

Is Kenshi difficult to access and mod?

You mentioned pickled vegies down there, that was actually one of my first mods, 'tsukemono' or pickled greenfruit. A sushi version with the games fish should be easy enough to do when I have time. Glad you like it!

Peppers, cucumbers, melons and squashes, cabbage, beans, peanuts, berries, tomatillos, radishes/daikon, mushrooms, desert truffles, edible herbs, edible thistles, amaranth/quinoa, flax, onions/garlic/shallots/leeks/chives--(onions are extremely useful, tasty, easy to grow, and can even be used for treating wounds), sweet potatoes, yams, ginger, horseradish (wasabi's really hard to grow, unfortunately), honey (along with bee-keeping), tea (and tea-farming), sugar extraction, (mineable) salt, tobacco (if nothing else, it's legitimately useful as an insecticide, and it would make for a valuable drug)--and more indigenous edible plants and animals, in general, would be welcome),

and even the equivalent of pizza (it's pretty universal, and easy to make)--made in the bread oven--would be very nice, as would various recipes that use alcohol in their production (or hemp seeds/hemp oil).

Thank you!

More types of food is good! Has anyone done sushi, yet?

Nori/dried seaweed, or local equivalents, ought to be produceable--The game could use drying and smoking racks, though, along with woks--cook over any campfire!, kebabs (meat onna stick!) and Tandouri-style ovens--bake over a campfire!...

Noodles/pasta, dashi, Chinese dumplings and meat-rolls, egg dishes, meatballs/meatloaf, stuffed fishes, shellfish/crustaceans, different types of raw meat, from different animals, salted/smoked meats, lots of different jerkey/dried meats, dairy products!

Hot peppers and other spices, soy-sauce-equivalents, dishes that use alcoholic beverages as ingredients, PICKLED VEGGIES! (seriously, there ought to be a vast rainbow of pickled vegetables--and even some pickled meats/fish/eggs, in this game. To name just a few of the veggies that seem like they'd fit the theme of the game, and--I'm just guessing!--ought to do fine in the climate:

Tsukemono mod is up. Let me know what you think. Made it a bit weaker than sembei due to greenfruit being easier.
Tommygun 14 Jul, 2016 @ 5:49pm
Yes it's a super hard biscut. For me food is not about money, I just need a compact food.
That Tsukemono sounds promising.
Nanogiraffe  [author] 14 Jul, 2016 @ 5:41pm
@Tommygun Yeah, that is a frustrating size. I want to make a low n low cost food for all the basics. I'll check out katapan. I think it's a kind of cracker/biscut right? Due to the profitablity of bread I can't see anyone using wheatflour to make anything else. Next is Tsukemono out of green fruit i think. should be finished in an hour or two and fit that vertival 2X1 space :)
Tommygun 14 Jul, 2016 @ 3:24pm
I was thinking last night we need something like this. I was thinking about "Hardtack" made from flour. I think it was called "Katapan" in Japan. Something that would only use two inventory spaces and stackable (2 vertical spaces and one wide, similar to fish). You often have that unused space off to one side that goes to waste.
