This even affects playing in Offline/Local-Hosted mode. (Although, there's a Configuration file somewhere - I don't know where - that can allow mods for Offline/Local-hosted play.)
This mod was made back in 2016, before the update hit. The viewmodel showcase is basically pointless.
this is woomy.
this is your brain on woomy.
any questions?
I got the consistency error from this.
I tested out if this only appears in Versus-like game modes, but I was not kicked for that issue.
Single Player addons seem to cause this issue - at least from my experiences.
I tested it in an Online Official Server, and there were no consistency errors for me. I hope the same happens for you!
It might be something like you said, like a map pack or other addon that is conflicting, but doesn't register as a conflict within the game's addons section, although,I don't think that is the reason why. The next time I play Left 4 Dead 2, I will try to load a campaign again and see if the issue was resolved with your update, and if not, then I'll try to see if checking for a conflicting addon will be helpful. Thanks for your time, and hopefully this response wasn't too long for you.(Part 2 of 2 comments)
On the subject of the revision you made,I don't know if it had anything to do with the crowbar, because when I first discovered the error, it was when I launched one of the base game campaigns(when I said "map" i meant campaign), after I had installed this mod.
What happened was after the loading screen for the campaign, rather than loading the campaign, the game showed me a box that said something about errors with "server consistency" (slightly odd, because I was not on a server, rather I was in single player) and it traced the error down to a single file, which it did like: myusername/C:/Program Files(x86)/Steam/Steamapps/common/something or another/jockey.mdl. I knew that meant it was to do with the jockey,or it's model, which is why I knew it came from this mod.(Part 1 of 2 comments)
I hope this works for you. I still don't know why it works for some people, while others have issues. The only last thing I can think of if it still doesn't work after this update is that perhaps you may have an addon that's a Map Pack which does something with the Jockey? Those packs usually don't say that they conflict when sometimes they can.
Smoker/Spitter as the stinger, boomer as cohock etc
This was originally going to be some kind of character that I would use in some "Story" or something whenever I'd make animations for Blender (hence why file names are titled 'jill'), but my mind just went to the fact that the OctoHunter mod had RNG, so this derp needed it too.
I don't want to upload another mod of basically the same thing since I'm limited on the amount of mods I can upload (data/size-wise). The RNG does 'ruin' the character, but it's something that makes it feel more 'alive.'
I did make this mod because of the idea of the character more than just to have a derp Jockey, so there's a good chance the RNG will be off. I could use the 'Rare' RNG, making it unique that the model would have one different color in a low percentage.
TL;DR
Probably gonna change the RNG to use one rare color that fit the demented character.
