It might just be me, but if you use this with CE then it doesn't work and just makes them dodge every attack that's directed at them, and sometimes a bug happens where raiders spawn with ~50 shields, giving them like 20mm RHA and I had to use dev mode to kill the raider.

*For the record, I also am having the exact same issue as the poster before me. Upon equipping the shields, it makes the pawns undraftable and incapable of battle.

Is this mod going to be updated and become usable? Because I really love the idea and actually, I would love to see a few more varieties of medieval-style shields. Also, it would be really awesome if it were to work with the "Dual Wield" mod, because having the shield in the "off-hand" would be a rather interesting format when playing Medieval style.

Looking forward to a response from the Dev!

The shields don't work for me. Any time my colonists equip them I lose the ability to draft them.

So, apparently your current implementation causes MAI's to be completely invalidated, as they can't stay spawned for longer than 1 tick when forcefully spawned, and the Unactive ones can't be activated.

Error is:

Check out the [A13] Skullywags Event mods [ludeon.com] topic on Ludeon forums. He states his mod license in the OP as, quote:
"License - You may do whatever you want with the code in my mods as long as you dont use it to make money in any way shape or form. This includes taking donations. Modpack owners I require a PM to request inclusion. Art within my mods may not be used without consent, some of the art was not done by me so PM me first."

It would be awesome if you could release your update! But it does not look like the author is on Steam very often. And one has to be friended to someone before Steam allows one to send a private message to someone. To get in contact with him directly, have you considered sending a [PM] via the official Ludeon(dot)com forum? He's a forum moderator over there and he was active even today. (Hint: Go to the Members tab and click "Search For Members".)

I was able to update this mod to work with 1.0 I made a few minor changes to the to hit calculation as well withyou're permission i would like to post it.

I tried to use bows and arrows with the shields from this mod... and then realized duh, you need both arms to use a bow.

I figured out how to add medieval shields to medieval times forges myself. If anyone else wants to do this as well here's how:

1. Make sure Rimworld is closed and go to Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\728302374\Defs\ThingDefs and open Apparel_BucklerShield.xml with wordpad.

2. Find the line of code that reads

<recipeUsers>
<li>FueledSmithy</li>
<li>ElectricSmithy</li>

3. add <li>MedTimes_BlacksmithForgeTierTwo</li> so it reads

<recipeUsers>
<li>FueledSmithy</li>
<li>ElectricSmithy</li>
<li>MedTimes_BlacksmithForgeTierTwo</li>

4. save and exit

5. open Apparel_KiteShield.xml and find the same line of code

6. add <li>MedTimes_BlacksmithForgeTierThree</li> so it reads

<li>FueledSmithy</li>
<li>ElectricSmithy</li>
<li>MedTimes_BlacksmithForgeTierThree</li>

7. save, exit and you're done. Hope someone finds this useful :)

It would be nice if you could do a quick compability patch to make these shields craftable from the medieval times smithing forges.

There should also be a chance for the shield to even block in the first place, unless that also broke.

This is still "working" for me in A16. The shields block damage.
But something changed and shields no longer break when hit, so my Brawlers are running around as naked berserkers punching entire infestations to death...
