Also, it does seem whenever an update is released, we are all scared that allowing SFM the newest update will mess up everything we've been working on. Would there be any method that could make this easier on us that you are aware of? Perhaps by keeping older versions on the workshop a little longer?
Yeah, I realized that selfillum masks were a thing while working on the VMT. Now, I have the tedious process ahead of me of separating parts of the textures that need a different phong or not. @episoder, should I just make another VMT or two for the more shiny parts?

use $bumpmap. they're missing. you gotta disassemble the mask textures. one channel is the $normalmapalphaphongmask. the other the $basemapalphaenvmapmask. usually. green and blue are identical. you can recycle both for phongalbedotint and phongexponent. right. but you gotta do that properly. author it. not just throw it together somehow.
also... there's something that fell off on the lefthand 2 mesh. the welder.
and why don't you turn the thing into the camera. the front direction.
